“it works great on headphones. I use it for speakers as well and it's great, in my case. I use high quality speakers and I have a treated mixing room, so the corrections are. minimal. I would not suggest to use it in the classical bedroom studio.”

“Great improvement in audio I was happy with my HD600 and with Sonarworks they are even more accurate sound is 5 stars It's ok to have 1 license (educational in my case) but to be stuck with one machine is a drawback, specially with the headphone version iLok cloud would be a great solution for this issue”

“I notice the base isn't even accounted for in the HD660s preset. Which is kind of disappointing. Your competitors at tonebooster got this handled in their morphit plug in. Also add support for the Drop Panda Bluetooth headphones. One using the built in amp and one without it. You guys still have a monopoly over flattened EQ curves but don't rest on your laurels.”

“Its a good product and does what it says on the tin. Calibration was easy and even pretty fun with the echo location. It did take a good chunk of time, having me take over 30 measurements. But the results were pleasant and even useful for mixing and mastering where an audio glitch during playback wont ruin a session. I had to return it because i was hoping to use it in a performance setting using the system wide app, which while 98% stable still has some issues and thus was not suitable for my personal purposes. The return process was no questions asked and quick and painless, after a quick email to support i got my refund fairly quickly.”

“Great product, it makes the life of the average mixer so much better. However, there seem to be some driver issues. My Mac keeps getting confused between the Sonarworks driver and audio interface and it drives my mac crazy. In many cases I have to disable Sonarworks to make things work. Still, love it.”

“Sonarworks is super awesome! When you don't have time or money to treat a room it can really help to fix many frequency related issues, swell as some minot time related things. Why 4 stars? I think Sonarworks could provide additional information, that could help newbies to "grow" their studio. I would really love if Sonarworks would help you to treat your room on a budget. Depending on your room you might have really big improvements if you fix reflections on the walls or if you ad a bass trap. Since beginners can't figure it out theirselves so easily where to start (especially if you are tight on money) sonar works could help. I hope the sonarworks team is going to 'earn' the fifth star ;) Anyways: best vet I own!”

“I have only had the software for a week or 2 now but I did notice immediately that certain frequency areas we’re easier to hear....I DO NOT regret my decision to purchase this as I believe it has helped and will help with better mixes since I can hear more clearly....The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because to me 5 stars is PERFECT and nothing is perfect except Christ Jesus so that’s why the 4 stars! Highly Recommend!”

“Great product. Made a world of difference to mixing. Easy to calibrate and setup. But why does it turn of when I use constrain delay compensation in Nuendo, not helpful. Also, why can’t it go through the system with vst.”

“Sounds great with Bose headphones. I still need to deactivate the plugin when not doing critical work as it draws a lot of CPU energy on the Mac laptop and the fans go on and are noisy. (Sound Design )”

“Everyone knows how good this is, but let's point out what features would be cool to have: -multiple calibrated outputs -an easy way to convert calibrations into a different type of eq's -built-in eq -freq vs distortion chart -probably a lot more stuff that I can't remember now”

“I heard about Sonarworks about a month ago and installed the trail. Soon I realised I needed this product and bought Reference 4. One of the best purchases I ever did! I can now mix with a lot more confidence and safe a lot of time second guessing and checking every on difference speakers and headphones. It’s kinda like having a second pair of monitors and headphones. For example I use my headphone profile to notch out unwanted resonance of a guitar. (Usually around 4khz) switching the profile on an off is a quick way to locate the fizziness and notching it out. Great tool! In addition, the response from my mastering engineers is also very positive. They find themselves adding fewer plugins to correct my mixes making the mastering process a lot easier and improving the final product. Finally, I love using Reference for producing and tracking because I instantaneously can tweak the different instruments together for maximum clue without having to add plugins and level matching them later on. Reference 4 is a game changer and couldn’t be more happy with the way it has changed my mixes. Mads from Denmark”

“Sonarworks does a great job of making the headphones sound sonically accurate. My only complaint is that it hijacks your computer system so you can't switch to regular headphone use when you want to. You have to actually close out of it. That's a little too controlling for me - I should be able to switch when I want and listen to it at the volume I want. Sonarworks controls that too - it completely hijacks your system. I would like more control over it. Outside of that, it's perfect. I'm a music producer with an apartment that isn't designed for sound so Sonarworks is fantastic.”

“Until now good experience as a plugin in Logic Pro X. I find the sistemwide solution a bit confusing, though; but maybe it's me. Does not work with the eartraining app by trainyourears.com.”

“Spent some time with the Sonorworks Reference system. Overall, the system does improve the mixing process. Takes some time to get use to the new sound. The system wide option is a bit confusing. Does always seem to play well with Apple setup. Translation to other playback devices has improved but still has a way to go to get complete confidence and improve low end frequency response.”

“Love it! Easy to use and good results with in a soft treated room and well positioned equipment. Please integrate more features like: correction only affecting frequencies till 500hz or mono speaker calibration. Thank you anyways for making this usefull Product!”
