The concept behind this wonder tool and quality of the output from it are beyond 5 stars. The only thing that causes me issues is that it has a tendency to crash Ableton. if I leave it on one of the tracks, after I have used it to create the wav exports that I need, then there is a high possibility the track will freeze/crash the session. I am in the habit of turning off or deleting it after I have the wavs I need.

It was comparatively straightforward to install (although as always, this could be streamlined). So in respect ofthe software itself, let's get the issues out of the way first. The interface in setting up was quite clunky, and especially, it wasn't necessarily obvious which options I should tick, and the help articles just complicated things further. I ended up putting in a support ticket just to resolve what should have been a simple question. In operation, around a third of the time, when I start playing audio, the sound is stuttery and lumpy. But at least, bypassing and reenabling the processing is all it takes to get clean audio back. Also, live tracking I generally have to do with the speaker correction bypassed. Nonetheless, it is a miraculous piece of software, especially for mixdown. What it has done to my speakers and my listening environment is completely transformational. Obviously, you have to get your room as good as you can first, but having done that, it corrects problems you didn't know you had, and the audio is suddenly pristine. A few easy wins on the customer-facing front, and it would easily be five stars.

The program seems to work pretty well on my system but there are some bugs. The system is protools run through an UAD Apollo8. If i use the standalone option some of my outboard effects gear does not work (SPDIF and hardware send and return). This must be something to do with the I/O setup being influenced by the Sound ID program as standalone. So I have resorted to using the plugin on the master fader. I would much prefer to be able to use the standalone on everything. If you know what the answer to this is I would like to know. The system for calibrating the room is clearly explained and easy to operate. All said and done I am happy to know that what I am listening to is the correct sound relative to what is recorded.

I loved that I could demo it first. It didn't take me long to figure out that this is what I wanted (as I was comparing it with another company's product).

It was nice that I could test out the product before committing. Installation and setup was super easy. However it would be nice to be able to run the licens on ilok. Would be amazing of you would make a systemwide multichannel software, and not just stereo. Would also be amazing if your software would be able to do bass management.

I really approve of the new SoundID product, however, it's remarkably similar to TrueFi which I previously purchased. I didn't receive any discount for SoundID and I felt that it does exactly the same thing as TrueFi but I was forced to purchase a new license as the older TrueFi software was crippled from running on my modern Mac.

So far I can hear a difference especially in the low end. It definitely helps with mixing.

Overall a pretty decent experince purchasing sonarworks. I found the shopping experince to be a bit confusing between the USD shop and international shop. They are the same number on the website, but in diffrent currencies so buying from one would be more expensive than the other after converting to my own currency. Found the best way for me to get the full mulitchannel version and with the microphone was to buy the microphone with the stereo verson locally to pay only local tax and currency and than was able to buy the multichannel upgrade from the USD store. Saving approx $150-200 CAD from if I was to buy the mulitchannel with microphone from the international shop directly even after sale prices. Feel like this is something that could be a bit too complicated for average consumers and might be best to look at better international options for people around the world instead of a flat and confusing Euro rate.
