“I used Sonarworks Reference for years and its SoundID update is an improvement on the concept. I hope that the team will support more and more headphones and that the Systemwide application will get improved under certain aspects that may be better from a UX point of view. Hopefully, the customization of your custom profile will get a tiny bit deeper in the future as well providing the best freedom to the end user.”

“I upgraded Sound ID studio version from Sonarworks 4 studio version a few days ago. The delivery version EQ check function is very helpful. However, there are couple of issues borther me a lot. The first one is it can't launch at startup although I select enable in the preferecnes page. Second, when i insert the Sound ID plugin to my master track, I can choose a low buffer size for my pro tools session, which means the plugin ues a lot of processing of CPU. I really hope you guys can fix these in the next version.”

“Good product, fairly easy to use. A bit of a bummer that I had reference 4 and then u stopped supporing it. I got sound ID but had some issues activating the software. I although contacted support and Ivars helped me. Really good that it got Solved.”

“Great company and product. The only thing I would appreciate is more transparency about what specific hardware works with the Multichannel version. It was only fully clear that my Merging Anubis was not yet compatible after buying. They did offer me a refund but I’m waiting for the compatibility to be updated this month :)”

“Finding microphone profiles was quite a task. Seems like to reach older Sonarworks microphone profiles you have to go to a whole different site. Also finding the right upgrade on the website was obnoxious unless I clicked from within the app. Support Centre was responsive with no issues.”

“Great new features, an integral part of getting mixes to translate, there does however seem to be an issue with how well it interacts with SoundToys 5 Bundle very glitchy at times and the issues resolve when this software is removed. Apart from this very happy with the upgrade.”

“Shopping easy. I logged a bug report about Sound ID not switching to an established profile. On reporting, I tried the suggested support link about this and deleted the configuration file, added my interface info, headphone profile and everything seemed better for a while then the problem returned. I have a feeling it’s linked to disk sleep.”

“I've been using Sonarworks for a few years now to help my home studio mixing be the best it can be. I've only used the headphones version but I have been impressed by the neutral sound it gives me and I feel like my mixes translate in different environments more consistently than when I didn't use Sonarworks. I also love how I can choose to apply it systemwide for everything I do on my computer; from games to Youtube to Spotify. The downsides are that I haven't visited the website since I bought the Reference 4 Headphones software and when I upgraded to the latest software, it was confusing to determine the differences. It also seemed that the direct upgrade path for my Reference 4 Headphones to the latest Headphones software was a bit buried in the website. I'd like to see it more easily findable.”

“The information on the product itself is great, the page provides all the necessary details and there's nothing lacking there. However the shopping experience drops the ball quite a bit, as web developer, there are too many screens to jump through to get to the purchase screen. It'd be a lot smoother if by hitting the buy button it just opens one screen with all the options. After purchase is also fine, the only issue id that sometimes the authentication doesn't go through and there's no alternative way to do it.”

“SoundID reference works as expected from a long-time user of Reference 4, which I can't live without since I have an untreated room and rely on headphones for accurate monitoring. The support ticket about educational discount was fast, and I have no complaints about the buying experience - very nice and straightforward. 4 stars since the headphone version "upgrade" feel more like an update, which should have been free. (essentially paying for M1 Native compatibility).”
