The whole experience has been very intuitive and easy to set up from purchasing the product to calibrating my speakers, and it really helped! My mixes translate better. Only complaint I have is that I had no idea I would only get one activation license for the education edition until I went to check out, and no option to buy just one more license at a reasonable price (not like buying the whole product again)

I recently purchased Sonarworks Reference 4 and I couldn't be happier with the results. The difference in audio accuracy is truly remarkable, and it's made a significant improvement in my working process.

Buying the product on the page was easy enough. Everything went smooth. There are minor issues the new software has that can still be improved. For example my right speaker is 0.3db louder and I can't figure out why (in reality they have the same volume). I also feel that Reference adds a lot of volume. I would wish it would retain the in/out volume at the same level, especially in the daw where gain staging is crucial.

I love what Sonarworks is doing, especially in regards to SoundID and their microphone that you can calibrate your own gear with. I also found their reviews for headphones very helpful given they actually include readings such as THD that is a big factor when doing eq changes. I had no issues with the Support Centre as I never used it.

I was first buying an education license because I´m a teacher but I needed to have SoundID Reference for Headphones on more than one computer so I could after contact with the support make a switch to a regular license. Sonarworks gave me a quick response.

Very noticeable improvement in my room response. Effectively smoothed out peaks and nulls, and I appreciate the flexibility to customize and band limit the correction to your own taste. This allowed me to tune the room without losing the useful speaker voicing I’m used to on my Amphions. I also use the headphone version with Beyerdynamic DT880s, and that combination is the only time I’ve been able confidently do true headphone mixing. Really excellent stuff. I deduct one star, because I have some trouble with the system-wide version of SoundID not playing audio smoothly. Lots of crackles and dropouts, no matter how many different ways I adjust audio settings and latency between my interface, windows 11, etc. I really like having a consistent room sound both within my DAW and outside of it, so this is more than just a minor annoyance to have to live with.

Sonarworks is a tool I'm using in a class I'm studying for mixing club music. Great for referencing songs on flat response. I would recommend this to other mixing producers. Especially if you're only using headphones.

Navigating the Sonarworks website was smoother than my mixes ever were. SoundID Reference is like having a mini acoustics wizard in your computer - it's made my home studio sound like a pro setup. And when I had a question, the Support Centre was like talking to a real person (gasp!). 10/10 would recommend.

I have been using this with my Production students in the classroom. It bridges the gap between a universally good-sounding mix and one that sounds good in our mix headphones.

Superb software that makes you trust your speakers in the room youbare mixing in. My mixes sure improved after doing the SoundID setup. A pleasure to work with.

Due to the shape and size of my home studio I have no option but to have my main mixing speakers far too close to a rear wall which has been giving them a false bass response around the 100Hz mark. Sonarworks not only flattened out this peak but almost magically seemed to make the speakers ‘disappear’ leaving me with a perfectly flat reference eq and razor sharp imaging across the whole spectrum. The consistency between my Adam mixing speakers, my Beyer headphones and the PMCs I use in a different room for mastering is remarkable. I have worked professionally in film and theatre sound for almost forty years and am Emeritus Professor of Sound at the Universoty of London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sonarworks to anyone, whether in a home or professional studio. I would add that the support centre is very responsive. I had a minor issue downloading an update which was solved, and the online resources helped with a couple of calibration questions. My one piece of feedback is not to use subjective terms like ‘normal conversation level’ in the set up guide. I think a lot of users will have an SPL meter to hand so the level setting could be done more precisely.
