“I recently moved and had to set up a new studio. I'm using Focal Solo 6be and the first thing I noticed is how bad it sounded in my new room. I felt like the sound was not focused, and I had a hard time hearing the lows and lower midrange. I don't have the time or supplies at the moment to acoustically treat my room, so I decided to try Sonarworks. So impressed with these results!! The sound is as good or better than it was before. It would probably be even better if I combined it with acoustic treatment, but as it is right now, the sound is incredibly crisp and I don't feel like I'm missing out on any frequencies. Worth the buy for sure.”

“I recently purchased Sonarworks software and I am extremely impressed with the company's customer service and support. The shopping experience on their website was very straightforward and easy to navigate, with all the information I needed readily available. I appreciated the clear and detailed descriptions of each product and the variety of purchasing options. After purchasing the software, I needed assistance setting it up and contacted their Support Centre. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they responded to my inquiry and the level of knowledge and expertise the support representative had. “Sonarworks is one of the few tools I would not mix without. Even though I have pretty superb room and monitoring, once you learn to listen "Flat Flat", there is just that kind of trust you gain that you are not willing to sacrifice. Even thou I have encountered few hiccups sometimes (as you get with software) The support has been great and present and reliably fast. And what I have understood the near-future updates will be making everything even more right on the money! I highly recommend both headphone and speaker calibration with SoundReference ID. 6/5 !”

“I initially bought the full room calibration software and reference microphone package and found it very easy to install and use. I compared the sound from my monitors before and after calibration and there was a noticeable improvement, particularly in the bass end of the spectrum where things were tighter, punchier and much better controlled. I use headphones a lot when mixing so I tried the included averaged profile for my Sennheiser 650s and again found a marked improvement, with a beautifully smooth and clean sound across all frequencies and much improved low bass response, where the headphones without calibration are typically lacking. Not long after, I needed another pair of headphones for my studio so I bought an individually calibrated pair of 650s and they sounded even better. The software is easy and intuitive to use and the service from Sonarworks has been excellent, with my headphones arriving soon after ordering. I’ve been recording and mixing for longer than I care to remember, and I can say the Sonarworks products are definitely worth the investment. As well as providing more accurate monitoring, they give you confidence in your decisions which is so important when mixing and mastering. I’ve played back several songs mixed and mastered using Sonarworks and they have all sounded great regardless of what they’ve been played on. I highly recommend giving the Sonarworks products a try.”

“Getting Sonarworks SoundID Reference was a really good investment. Before putting up the cash for it I had spent about six weeks trying to calibrate my speakers with the free program, Room EQ Wizard (REW). REW is great for those with joint proficiency in both audio hardware and computers but for me, the complexity, second-guessing, time expenditure, unforeseen expenses, and above all the countless invisible variables were too much. I gave up on REW on the home stretch when I learned that to actually apply the EQ to my computer I would have to download several other programs including one called Audio Hijacker which seemed to need unlimited access to my computer. Then I bought Sonarworks SoundID Reference and, with a little help from their support team, my speakers are up and running and they sound awesome. A SoundID calibration takes about 20 minutes and one drawback with it is that there’s no way to do a quick preliminary version for example if you want to test out small changes like bass trap placement etc. I guess that’s where REW comes in handy as a quick measuring tool. It might also be nice to have the option of doing a measurement that's more narrowly focused on a small listening sweet spot. I did about 8 measurements with Sonarworks SoundID Reference before arriving at a final reading. That’s because I was getting some dips and peaks that exceeded 6 dB and I wanted to correct those large imbalances with speaker placement etc and save EQ for the final touches. It helped to adjust the volume knob on one of my speakers to compensate for too deep of a dip in that one speaker (and for the general quietness of that speaker). It helped to place an object halfway between the speakers on the same plane as a reference for exactly where to point the mic. It also helped to make sure the lower edge of the tweeters was pointing directly at my ear instead of the upper edge of the woofers and that the speaker's feet were adjusted so that the speaker tilt was exactly the same. Buying expensive speaker isolation stands also coincided with getting a better less jagged frequency reading and that might well have played a role. I'd say that, if you can afford it, you'll be glad you got Sonarworks SoundID Reference.”

“I was overall disappointed with the support of Sonarworks SoundID Reference. Two days after my purchase, I received a qualification for a school discount. Unfortunately, the support could not change my account to Educational and refund me the difference of the paid product. Instead, they wanted me to return the entire package, which will then be reversed, and I will have to buy it again with the discount. My wish to keep the product and get only the difference back could not be met. Overall, I am very disappointed with the support of Sonarworks SoundID Reference, as they did not comply with my request and did not give me the chance to find an easy solution.”
