The most unprofessional and doughy company to deal with them I have done some work with them they haven’t paid my invoices for more than 6 months I keep chasing them no one call me back. Just stay away from this company

Absolutely terrible service I have been with them for 7 years. To start with they were great to deal with and customer service was good.Now, the customer service is lower than poor. I have to phone them all the time. They promise an engineer but no one comes out. After chasing for 4 days I eventually get an engineer visit who confirm the fault with the appliance and a replacement appliance is necessary. They sent the report whilst in my home. I chased Smart cover who say they are still waiting for an engineer visit. When I confirmed they have been they said they need to wait for the report, despite already having this. Chasing 4 days later, they confirmed they have the report but it needs to be reviewed. Another 3 days and I chase. After arguing again, they confirm a replacement machine is needed as it is beyond repair. I am told to wait a few days for the replacement team to confirm which products I could have and any additional costs. You guessed it... no emails. I need to phone again to chase for the emails. I know this is a very poor and doesn't appear to be a legitimate service provided. I am now considering taking thus to the ombudsman to get them investigated as Im feeling uncomfortable with paying 7 years of premiums and not getting the services that was paid for. I will be reading their terms in detail to see if they have breached any of their obligations. I think enough is enough.

Absolutely horrendous Company. Stay away, it has taken nearly 5 weeks and still no resolution. My dryer was condemned by an engineer and I'm still waiting for a suitable replacement been offered. You have to pay £41.50 for delivery and a month's cover money before they will order a new appliance. Customer service are absolutely terrible and don't get back to you or keep you informed you have to keep calling them. If I could give a no star review I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!!

Would be a zero if I could. Reported faulty washing machine 3 weeks ago,failed promises on engineer visits,poor communication and numerous calls chasing updates.Finally agreed replacement and still waiting on delivery date,shocking service overall.

Smart cover are the cheapest Home emergency cover however they have a long list of small print which you will never read nor did I. What is a home emergency? Losing entire power in Winter is an emergency I am sure you would agree however Smart cover refused to come out as they had no engineer for 2 days? My Shower bar was leaking they replaced it with a very cheap replacement 8 months later the bar is faulty but now its not a emergency therefore will not come out I always though you get 12 months warranty with any new part not with Smartcover and their small print. Be aware please they will look for all get out clauses to visit and repair. Pay a bit extra and use Homeserve or British Gas I have used both and I had no issues. Lesson learnt with Smart cover never will go back a waste of money I ended up paying for my repairs myself plus paid premium to Smart cover

Very poor service, not willing to help in any way, I wouldn't use this company. All they want is your money and don't help with a solution. Said to read policy in my email but not even recieved the documents. Convince u it be a good idea to go with them and your covered and then not telling u all the extra hidden fees. 75 pound a year but then 250 excess on top. More than the tumble dryers worth. It's all designed and set up for u to fail. Don't care about the customer just want your money. Shocking company and jist cos its there policy doesn't make it legitimate. Its a form of malpractice and there a conclumerate company coning u out of your money. Do not use this company

Got insurance for my fridge freezer made a claim as it wasn’t working properly engineer cane out told us it is not fixable, smart cover contacted me said i need to pay £168 to get a new fridge freezer which i dont have, what the point in getting insurance when i now am left with a fridge freezer not working properly

I had a claim with smart cover in August 2022 the engineer that came couldn't find the fault,said that he had touch some wiring and it “seems” to be working ok, the following morning no hot water and the boiler stops working again and has to be reset. I called smart cover only for them to say it is classed as a intermittent fault and that the underwriters will not cover that, and suggest that I call glow worm and get them out to repair it, at my own cost of £299 fixed repair price which I could not afford. After a over month of the boiler having to be reset every morning it has finally stopped completely, I called Smart cover this morning to be told that because I didn't contact glow worm in August they will not cover the claim ABSOLUTLEY DISGUSTING BUISNESS ETHICS!!!!!. So now I will be cancelling mine and my mothers policy both due in December. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!! ZERO STARS IF I COULD

What an absolute RIP off don't waste your money. Got leak under sink rang for to be informed they'll just turn off and then I'll have to pay for a plumber to fix. Isn't the whole idea of insurance for them to fix .. definately never renew with these...

Terrible fraud company, not so smart after all, Smart Cover Insurance. I wanted to get my boiler fixed as had no hot water or heating, so called Smart Cover. They denied I had boiler policy cover (I had both on my email and I hard copy certificate including it). I called them back to deal with my claim which they tried hard to deny but they need evidence of my last service. So I tried to call my previous insurance company, due to covid they had staff shortage nut they finally managed to get the doc for me. FINALLY I get an engineer who used the manual, called several friends and told me 3 different parts were needed before settling on one. An expensive one. After chasing for whole day I finally get a call back to confirm next steps. £560 for a gas valve, I’ll have to pay for the costs after £280. The firm then say if the boiler still has problems that I’ll be liable for any extra call out charges and parts... Speak to a gas engineer friend who confirms this cost is too much for what’s being offered. I think they’re trying to rip me off for being a single female and decide to try another option...

Took out insurance with this company boiler & kitchen appliances. In middle of November 2020 my boiler sprung a leak reported it and was told engineer would be sent out unfortunately never arrived until 14 Dec then told me I needed part and would get back to me but no show.phoned company they said fault was fixed I told them it was not. They said they would send another engineer but did not arrive until last week in January 2021 and same story no more contact. Finally phoned to cancel was informed claim would be passed to cancellation dept and still waiting for call back.

Very quick to take your money but awful at arranging repairs. After a week they still hadn’t called an engineer to look at our broken dishwasher. Numerous phone calls made but no one ever called us back. Policy cancelled and I’m seeking legal action against them.

Avoid this company at all cost because it will cost with no benefits .I went with them because of the price but was robbed. Your money is taken from your bank without prior warning and when queried you are fobbed off with lame excuses but they still have your money over a month before renewal date. When I tried to cancel i was forwarded to a smooth talker and I had to be very forceful to cancel and when I asked for email confirmation I was informed they don't use email confirmation. The boiler service I asked for was never confirmed or carried out. Total waste of time and money don't go there.

phoned up to make a claim after 2 years on cover for our washing machine, it broken down and wanted it repaired. spoke to their advisor, most rude woman I've ever spoken to, talking over me at every opportunity. zero customer service skills. trying to talk the way out of us making a legitimate claim. would never go near this lot whatsoever. left me and my partner very stressed and upset. AVOID.
