“The materials are low quality, the screws and hinges especially. The screws especially, everything needed predrilling so I used my own screws when possible. The door hinges are poorly placed, they cross over the shiplap so the hinge is not fixed flush. The bracket that fixed main eaves beam - the screw holes weren't wide enough so I needed to use a metal drill to widen to fix correctly. These are all unnecessary if there was a little care of thought applied to the design.”

“Very helpful when I telephoned enquiring about their summerhouse. I asked lots of questions and they answered all of them. Very polite. when it came wood very thin. Disappointed.”

“In the summer I purchased a summer house, the service was 5 stars. I bought a smaller shed, had problems with the delivery to discover because it was a third party seller they did not want to know or help. They were happy to sell me the shed but as soon as there was a problem they did not want to know. I will not be using this company again and I certainly will not be recommending them to anyone else.”

“This is one of the worst websites I have used for a long time. it’s painfully slow (I have good fibre broadband speed) and quite illogical. After persevering with it long enough to find and order the shed I needed, I returned to the site to check out the external dimensions, details of bases, what is meant by ‘DIY’ when added to a base price, etc. After a frustrating 30 minutes I eventually located the shed I’ve ordered (try searching Loxley 6’ x 8’ Shiplap Apex Shed’ as described on my order) but have still not found answers to any of these queries, and now have to email customer service for help. (Surely they won’t be as dysfunctional as the website?) In short, www.sheds.co.uk is unfit for purpose.”

“Decent website, easy to navigate and easy clear selection of sheds. that's the 2stars. Got an 8 am-6 pm delivery slot. The day before that changed to a 10 am-12 pm slot. At 10 am it changed to 1 pm-3 pm. At 1 pm it changed to 4 pm-6 pm. Eventually, it turned up at 5:40 pm. The driver was nice and helpful which was good. But a day wasted. Unpacked the shed. They had given me the wrong floor which was much too big for the shed bought (4ft x 12ft). Needs cut to size. Not a good start. However, getting on with it. The build is fairly straightforward. They didn't give anywhere near enough screws. I think I got the fitting kit for a 4' x 4' shed. I only had 60mm screws at home so had to go buy more 50mm screws. The floor is far too thin for a floor (I've just spent another £100 on 18mm OSB to strengthen it. The roof is rubbish and will also need strengthening. I think it would feel solid as a 4' x 6' but as a 12' wide shed, even the sides are flimsy feeling. I'm fairly sure a solid kick would half the shed. I will also look into strengthening these. The door is shoddy and flimsy. It doesn't even fit properly and won't close. Needs trimmed to fit. The lock is rubbish and barely catches the wood when locked. The door is so flimsy you simply flex the door slightly and the lock pops open. I need to replace that. The hinges and the mini-screws used to secure them are laughable. Will replace these with proper hinges and bolts. The roofing felt was fine. So other than needing to fix or replace the door, hinges, locks, screws, floor, walls and roof (basically everything excluding the felt)..... it's a decent purchase.”

“HVent receives the shed yet. Phones customer services as having trouble ordering on internet. I was told I have to order from the internet not by phone! Asked some questions about the shed they didnt have the answers. Couldnt tell me anything about delivery either. So disappointed really. Hope the shed is ok when it arrives , as not a good start/impression of this company.”

“Received shed as promised on 19th july when i started to erect it i found there was no screws to fasten the panels together, i contacted Sheds Uk who said the supplier would send a pack out. three days past so i phoned to ask where the screws were as i wanted to erect the shed they informed me they had been sent by royal mail second class so i said i would have to buy some i couldnt wait any longer. they eventually arrived in two weeks. i got back in touch several times as i thought the roof was incorrect as it had gaps which i was told would be covered by the Bargeboards but it didn't. then there were two of the lats couldnt be used as they were warped like a boomerang which they later replaced this time by next day Courier which is what i expected them to do with the nail pack. i had to buy some lengths of wood as the panels wouldnt pull together on the corners to what i would class as waterproof as they were warped. why they cant make a roof that fits without having to patch over with boards i dont know and i expected the shed to be held together with bolts on each corner as my old one did not screws and nails. when the shed was finally up the instructions tells you to put sealant round the windows but they don't supply it and it doesnt mention it anywhere on the website instrutions you require to purchase it only in the instructions when you get the shed. i also contacted them about the alignment of the door hinges which i expected to be aligned with the flat part of the shed panels only to be told i had put it on upside down it was only made to open from left to which i informed him to read the instructions which states could be hung left or right also the panela are inline anyway. i approached the supplier for reinbusement for the screws and sealant i had to purchased and was told the screws were supplied eventually and the sealant isn't with the shed although they dont tell you that. with hindsite i should have returned the shed straight away the thing that baffles me is most of the reviews are good so i dont understand why mine was rubbish. i suppose i should have noticed it is under the heading cheap sheds. photos attached.”

“If only whoever cut the wood to size checked it out before it was sent out to customers had a nightmare putting it together and email over not receiving any directions never got any reply”

“Sheds is a company that blows 'hot and cold' depending on the matter in hand. Initial communication is excellent but when a problem arises the communication goes adrift. I had problems with the product caused by the third party manufacturer and that was not solved in the best of ways.”

“Absolutely dreadful delivery service. No communication and I had to stay in all day. Finally delivered at 4.45pm and it was screwed together so much it took 3 people 25 mins to get off pallet. Sheds UK said it wasn't their problem as it is a outsourced delivery service. Never again will I order from this company”

“I found this summerhouse to be very poor quality, every board had a knot were you can clearly see through. I accept that some of the boards would have knots but not all over. Very disappointed photo supplied.”

“I was not that impressed with the quality of my shed lots of split wood and roof not fitting very well but the quality of the wood was not good especially for the price you pay,and the roof felt was not good heavy-duty like they said it would be,and it had a nail though the felt when it arrived so I had to repair that as well,it did arrive on the day they said.”

“The aftersales service was very poor in our opinion. We had installation booked and as the space was tight we sent photos and the installation was accepted. The installers left without carrying out the work and we heard nothing for weeks. I had to chase the company and they withheld £72.50. They still refuse to return this money. The shed was left effectively rotting in our garden for weeks during February and March and honestly it felt like they didn't care. I put the shed up myself in the space easily enough, albeit by this time it was slightly damaged. I have left writing this review for four months to give the company the opportunity to change their mind and refund me. Not the aftersales service advertised on the website.”

“Not very good quality at all. Three pieces of wood had large splits in them. One of which was a support piece, but we managed to fix it by screwing above and below. Loads of sap coming out suggesting wood has not been dried long enough. Had to put up with my husband moaning the whole time he was putting it together because of the quality of it!!”
