My 1st visit to the branch at Durham was very good. The car, a Hyundai i10 was ready for me to test drive. Adam allowed me to take the car out on my own with no sales pressure. I made the decision to buy the car. My second visit, however, when I went to pick up the car was not so good. It was Adam's day off so he had, supposedly, briefed another member of staff with my details for when I called to collect the car. Unfortunately the guy was busy when we arrived so we were asked to take a seat in the waiting area. After about half an hour of waiting I had to go looking for someone to deal with our purchase/ collection. Adam had promised me a set of mats for the car, there were no mats. He had also assured me that the service book would be stamped up to date. This hadn't been done. Then when we finally got the keys for the car, the drivers side mirror was faulty so I had to book the car in for a repair before I'd even left the dealership! This meant taking the car back in a few days later for the repair. Not very convenient. The car is now fine and we are pleased with it, but we feel the service we got when collecting the car was very unprofessional.

We have bought 2 cars previously from Petch both excellent. On this occasion Guy are salesman was very good and helpful throughout. On collecting the car I noticed a large surface scratch on the bonnet which I pointed out to Guy who rightly said it should polish out. On arriving home in Newcastle and taking a close look there were lots of smaller surface scratches and it appeared that the car had not been valeted but looked like it had just had a quick wash. The carpets and interior was dirty and marked. I then spent the rest of the day cleaning and polishing the car. Many of the scratches have came off and the car looks amazing. The valeting team can't be very good or the car was just missed out, it's not what I would expect from a main dealer. We love the car but not the condition when we collected it. Poor service and preparation let the company down.

Collected a fiat 500 used, smart repairs not done on collection but completed 2 weeks after collection, car had been serviced with new front tyres but all pressures where incorrect and caused TPMS light to come Also found sweet wrappers in various places and glovebox had previous owners rubbish in even though car was supposed to be valeted Sales where great but service and valeting side poor so 3 stars

Sales service excellent however after sales a problem with lack of communication, despite visits and phone calls and still not sorted.

Recently bought a used qashqui and Rob was very helpful, professional and clear on all the aspects of buying and trading in. Found him genuine and easy to get hold of when needing to sort details of purchase.

Lewis Baird was brilliant ,and very welcoming, not pushy or anything. Dave who was the compliance man was very rude , and made me anxious talking to him. I would not go back to that garage again purley because he made me and my husband feel uneasy.

i don’t have too much to say regarding the actual car itself; bar the USB port, everything works as it should. Sadly the administration side of things has been frustrating to say the least. The entire service history of the vehicle has been mislaid and little seems to have been done to locate it. I have contacted yourselves several times and even mentioned it when dropping off the car (to get the USB port looked at, which still isn’t working) but no one seems to want to put any effort into finding it. The other (and possibly greater) gripe we have is that the log book has been sent to the wrong address and therefore also has an incorrect address on it. The implications of this error could have been quite serious (as an official document relating to ownership of the vehicle). As mentioned, the product you sold us is great and everyone I have spoken to at the garage has been friendly and professional but it’s such a shame that a few errors and lack of care after the sale have let us down.

Generally I was happy with my purchasing experience at SG Petch Darlington 3weeks ago . Mark McLaughlin was personable and helpful through out , unfortunately on returning home with the new car we found there was no service book or car manual, which we are still awaiting , although I understand this is being dealt with following us telephoning the reception . I was hoping to receive them before posting my review . This unfortunately this has some what diminished the joy of owning my new car , being able to study it’s functions I feel is part of getting to know your vehicle and so far i have missed out on this . We also received an unannounced delivery of some locking wheel nuts and a locking key through the cat flap two weeks after buying the car .

Ok as a dealership. Not as efficient and professional as some I’ve experienced. Most disappointing of all though, they failed to reveal some important information about the vehicle I was proposing to buy. Had it been made known to me, it’s likely I wouldn’t have gone ahead with the deal.

Reasonable service, but car wasn't as described, being in poorer condition than would have been expected for the mileage. Shame really as it was a rare car.

Everything started ok, but since I picked the car up over two weeks ago things have gone downhill. I have had to purchase a new phone and sign a contract, which I did not have previously, to enable me to use hand free Bluetooth connection. I am still waiting for someone to ring me back as to when I will receive the booklet on how to operate the Sat Nav. I have made a number of requests, people are going to ring me back or deal with it. Maybe this review will have the desired effect? The pre-delivery inspection was not dated at all and neither the booklet on the operation of the Sat Nav or Media Player was noted as missing. I will be pleased to have a response to this comment. Before collecting the car the figure below would have 10 but sadly now only 5.

The vehicle was described on Autotrader as having built in Satnav. It did not have it. After further negotiation, I bought the car. Later noticed that the 1st service had been carried out 3 months late, potentially affecting the manufacturers warranty. I was later provided with a letter resolving the issue. Both these issues should have been picked up before the sale. Poor attention to detail. On the plus side the salesman Peter Bonnard was pleasant and helpful.

Well, my experience isnt over just yet. When I first saw the car I wanted in the Durham branch I called and was told it was only available at the price on the website with a 50% deposit but didnt say this on the website. I contacted SG Petch on FB who contacted the dealership and resolved this fairly quicky and I got it at the advertised price but it was a little annoying and I almost left the car. Test drive was enjoyable and getting the paperwork signed was easy. However another issue arose and because my address on my licence was different to my actual address they could not put the finance through on the rate agreed and offered me a higher rate instead to bypass this issue. Had a little issue with getting it sorted and a mix up in who was dealing with me after getting passed around a few times. However I spoke to the manager and it was a system issue but he resolved it swiftly for me and I got the original agreed APR deal. Picking the car up was fine. Had a few daft advisories like a loose exhaust I personally found unusual but they explained it was just part of the age etc. I accepted that because the car was 8yr old after all. On collection day I was told they offered delivery and then told they didnt. So I collected the car, was straightforward and easy. Anyways, I had the car 1 week and 3 days when it broke down on my mother. A friend towed it back and it seemed fine so put it down to her maybe getting mixed up somewhere. However, a day or so later it broke down on me. I called SG who told me to get it recovered to them, so I paid for recovery and off it went on the 9th of November. I also noticed then that they didnt stamp the service book for the service they said they did on collection. After around a week, they said the parts from Ford have been delayed so with all due respect they offered me a Hyundai i10 courtesy car. Its a nice clean car and they insured it for me etc. So cant ask for more here. So, at the time of my review the car is still in for repairs and just waiting for the call. Wish I bought the Hyundai i10 now but the experience overall has been fair. Frustration ensures but not all the fault of the dealer, cars do breakdown, the reason for the review being 3star was mainly the little issues that built up.

We were a little disappointed with our care once we had actually purchased the car. Our collection date was overdue and we were told that we would receive a full tank of petrol on collection of the car for our inconvenience. When we picked the car up we did not deal with the person we should have been and hence they were unable to answer the couple of questions we had and also the petrol had not been put in the car. I had to make a separate return journey to have this fulfilled. We also did not receive any follow up call from the salesperson just to see how the car was going and even after speaking to the manager of the Nissan section we are still waiting for this and also he said we should receive some kind of video via email, but again this has not happened.

We ordered car and said it would be here on a certain date. This date arrived with no phone call to say car was here or not here. So after many phone call to garage finally got to speak to manager to be told no car there for another 2 weeks. I had a very upset child looking forward to a new car. After been told another date finally got phone call to say car will be here.

I was happy dealing with SG Petch . the only negative was the communication. I found a member of sales hard to contact even resorted to emails which took days to receive a reply. I did find the sales staff very helpful face to face. The result is I received my new car to which I am delighted with

I bought a used car and although the salesman was very helpful while I was in the sales office, he has twice offered to phone me about my car and both tines he has not phoned. On collecting my car after the purchase was finalised, we discovered some dints on the car previously not seen. The salesman offered to phone me the following week to book my car in for the repairs and I am still waiting for their phone call, two weeks later. Great service when you are in front of them but lacking after you are out of sight.
