“Auditor needs to understand Large Organisation processes where requiring documented evidence - Can be evidenced through general presentation overview, but sending actual documents have elements of security vital information.”

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. As part of awarding our UK-leading accreditation annually, our team of expert auditors need to ensure that all contractors have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. This must meet certain criteria to be accepted for audit processes. To make the process faster next year, we recommend making a note of the accepted documentation submitted for this order and updating these documents throughout the year via our online portal. You can then submit this for review 30 days before expiry your audit expiry.

“When we first gained accreditation it took approximately 3 weeks from start to finish. This has taken 2 Months. You offer a bespoke faster service for an enhanced fee which is akin to a mugging paying extra for a service previously rendered”

Thank you for leaving us a review about your accreditation experience. I've checked your note and can see that following your original document submission, our Technical Support Officer advised that further clarification was needed around some of the documentation submitted. Please be advised that the 20 working day turnaround our audit team strive to meet is based on when all completed documents are received - if more documents are required to be submitted, or details of work activities clarified prior to passing your submission to an auditor, this will add time on to how long it takes for your audit to be reviewed and passed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this, and to avoid this happening in the future we recommend making a note of everything that was required for the submission this year and ensuring that you update these documents throughout the year on the contractor portal. The portal is available 365 days a year to upload information to, and this becomes available for submission 30 days prior to your audit expiry. Having everything prepared and submitting at your earliest opportunity will speed the audit process up, however there is the option to upgrade to an express service also if you would like an auditor to expedite reviewing your audit submission.

“Works well suppliers need a fast portal with clear instructions regretfully we have to join a number and wish SAFE contractor was the only one.”

If you find you are asked to have membership of multiple SSIP accreditations, then we recommend that you use a full SafeContractor accreditation to FastTrack to other SSIP schemes with up to a 77% discount. “I'm really not happy about the cost of having to have Safecontractor. It doesn't attract any new business. I find the renewal process to be time consuming and frustrating. I feel that the personnel involved don't understand where our business fits. Although I've spoken to some pleasant people, there have also been one or two who I felt were brusque. I wouldn't buy into this product if one of our customers didn't insist that we have it.”

“Sign Designs of Aberdeen located in Portlethen have recently completed their Safe Contractor accreditation, the only local sign maker in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to achieve this accolade. As we regard Health & Safety in the workplace and site to be paramount, we were delighted to engage with Alcumus and be accredited so quickly, it gives us peace of mind that what we had in place was good enough just had to modify some parts as it was out dated. Now looking to see what else Alcumus can offer us like ISO and HR. Exciting times ahead for all staff members.”

“we were very disappointed by the 'fait accompli' presented to us with regard to SafePQQ, it should be an option and not forced upon us. This module brings absolutely nothing to the table for our business. We were already questioning the value of Safe Contractor given that other accreditations are available. SafePQQ meant more time for our external consultant on top of the additional cost. the matter was resolved in the end but we will be closely monitoring the benefits of SC in the coming year.”

Thank you for giving us feedback on your accreditation and renewal. The SafeContractor product has been enhanced to include verification of contractor compliance with key industry best practice topics in addition to assessing health & safety compliance. We have made this change to our service in response to increasing client demand that contractors within supply chains demonstrate that they are compliant, ethical and resilient, Over half of our contractors already demonstrate this information, and work with more clients as a result of this.
