Unfortunately the process is always very difficult,we have been with you for many years and each year it gets harder and harder to get the accreditation through your auditing process, we have had to deal with to many different people and keep getting asked for info we already submitted? You take the money for renewal before you have completed the process and all in all for us as a very small business working for som big contracts it not very efficient. Sorry but that's my experience.

It takes too long to renew. The cost of an annual certification should not include a 20 day turn around on audits as this is then an 11 month certificate not an annual. The rumours that we will be charged per client are also unreasonable in an industry where the clients dictate their preference on the accrediting body.

Every year the goal posts change and we are asked for information either not relevant to safety or not in the questionnaire. Emails are sent to us time and time again even though this has been sent on the first request.

Very long-winded, aimed at large business than ours. A simple question could be "Has anything changed in the last year?"

The system you use is not very user friendly, it hangs a great deal and I have been 'ejected' from it a number of times and lost work. Would be great to get this uplifted.

The process is fine, however SafeContractor have now stopped issuing a certificate that shows the part 2, quality compliance section has also been completed and there is no reference to it on the main certificate, so it seems that it's a fairly pointless addition?? Unfortunately this has affected the score on the review and whether I would recommend SafeContractor. The SafePQQ certificate may be something that you need to look into reinstating for the future.

It feels overly complicated. I'm not sure what is the point of the pre-audit, as some of the same questions are asked on the main audit anyway.... and as i've heard pretty much every year from your pre-audit team, the main audit is where it's at.

Sales: Good communications and solution orientated .. good ... What was not clear upfront was what kind of Standard Activities Safecontractor apply exactly and if our scope was a good fit. At the very end of the certification process it became clear that maybe SafeContractor was not the best fit (more focussed on construction?). This really needs more transparency upfront and should be fully clear to client prior to paying the fee. Score 2. Pre-screering process ... takes a lot of time and effort, not very flexible but agent was willing to think solutions. In the end many things which were asked during pre-screening were asked again during audit phase. a lot of time and effort were taken by this process with limited value. score 2 on value, 3-4 on support from agent. Audit: The activity based approach is not flexible and there is little to no room for interpretation. This is where the standard approach really works against you. Focus is on compliance on paper and no room for interpretation. Comparing to Achillis UVDB, they have a much more granular breakdown and allow more flexibility. This approach will stop me from recommending you for use in Oil and Gas Services I think .. as the standard activities are not a good fit and not sufficiently flexible .. The auditor did her level best to support, so she that was good ... in then, I am now glad to have reached accredidation and will likely keep it renewed for now. score 2-3 on process, score 4/5 on agent.

Overall the process can feel hard work. The accredrediation is broken down into two part which is helpful in the most part but they are in very different formats, making it not as easy to navigate. Being able to change details or update work categories isnt as easy as other accreditations. I understand that someone takes a preliminary look and the offical auditor takes the final look however new issues can come up that you arent previously aware of therefore it can feel rushed to collate and update documentation to be inline with safe contractor guidelines when it has been accepted with other SSIP accreditations. It is beneficial for certain clients that we have safe contractor however it wouldnt be our preferred choose of SSIP membership when there are others out there that have a more user friendly platform.

Overall, Safe Contractor provided a straightforward and structured accreditation process, which we found helpful. However, we were disappointed that our newly developed Health and Safety policy was not accepted, despite it being professionally written at significant expense. This was the only downside for us, as we had invested heavily to ensure it met industry standards. Apart from this, the experience was positive, and the platform was user-friendly.

Safecontractor give you a very small window in terms of a notification to renew your accreditation, then they inform you your accreditation is going to run out in 2 weeks. They will then contact you saying you can fast track you application for a fee to ensure your accreditation doesnt lapse. This should not happen, an email should be sent out 30 days prior, giving you plenty of time to submit your data.

Hi FA-ST Filtration Analysis Services Technology Ltd, Thank you for your feedback, and congratulations on becoming approved! We truly value the insights we receive from our customers, and in response to your feedback, we've made an improvement. Previously, you could submit the renewal questionnaire 30 days before your expiry date. Now, we've extended that window to 60 days before expiry, giving you an additional 30 days to complete the submission. We hope this change makes a positive difference as you prepare for next year! Best regards, SafeContractor

Online system was easy to follow, however, sent in completed sections well in time for renewal, only for cert expiry date to pass with no contact from Alcumus. Contacted Aclumus regarding issue, was told info would be passed on to relevant person - still nothing back, emailed - no reply, emailed again a few days later - auto reply - person out for nearly two weeks. Phoned again, told that info had been received well in time (13 days before cert expired) but no-one had passed it on to the audit team - hence no contact about whether all was correct or not - that day (Friday) had audit team make contact and all issues resolved by lunch on the Monday - still 12 days after the previous cert expired and all because some-one 'forgot' to pass the information on to the audit dept. This would all have been sorted with a week to spare if the system had worked correctly - so not impressed with having to chase to get it dealt with.

Questionnaire/PQQ is clear and straight forward to complete and assistance from the team to ensure correct documentation is submitted is great. However, turnaround time to review and approve submitted accreditation is too long. The accreditation already costs a substantial fee and the pushing of an additional £150 cost for the 'express service' feels a rip off to extort more money from customers.

TOO MANY PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS, HAVING TO EXPLAIN YOURSELF TO MANY PEOPLE RATHER THAN ONE APPOINTED PERSON. GET SENT FAR TOO MANY EMAIL COMMUNICATION AND THE COST HAS BECOME RATHER STEEP.

Your standard turnaround for accreditation is too long. Despite filling out questionnaires on the day they were released our accreditation had expired. Not sure if this is a blatant ploy to get everyone to upgrade their memberships to fast track

Application process was clear and easy to use, but once submitted, having paid for express service 2 days, this was not forthcoming.

Your advisers are always pleasant, polite and professional. However, I think that you should review your assessment time as I submitted in good time yet instead of the outcome being done before our deadline of 01/09/24, it was awarded on 04/09/24.

I think you should allow companies to pay once accredited. At the moment there is no incentive for Alcumus to process the accreditation quickly, payment has been made, but the membership is not running. This works in favour of Alcumus but not for your clients
