“Despite submitting the questionnaire on the earliest day possible, it wasn't picked up even for first review until more a month had passed. Then told it would be a further 10 days for the assessor to go through it. Slow process that almost tries to force companies to pay extra for a fast track process, if they are to have any hope of getting a new certificate as their existing one expires. If clients didn't request it, we wouldn't use.”

Good afternoon, thank you for taking the time to leave a review, congratulations on becoming accredited. The questionnaire is open all year around so that you may fill it in and upload documents at your convenience. The submit button becomes available 30 days prior to the expiry date of your current certificate which on the standard package usually gives us plenty of time to assess your file within the agreed timescales even if further information is requested during the process. We do have several packages available for contractors to choose from, these offer a variation of response times and support with the process, these are optional dependant on our contractors needs. I will certainly pass your feedback to our Audit team and apologise that you have not had a positive experience this time around. “All Good, the only issue recently raised, is that the time allocated to complete the yearly audit and the processing time taken, passes the certification date and we get inundated by clients advising us that our certification has expired.”

In terms of timescales, the questionnaire is open all year around for you to fill in and upload documents so that you can do this at your convenience. The submit button will become available 30 days prior to your current certificate's expiry to give us time to review your file before the current certificate runs out. There are also options to upgrade the package you are on which would give different options for response times and assistance. “Because we are on the lowest package you draw the process out. If we haven't submitted everything required then we obviously expect you to pull us up on it. If we fail on a few things why do you insist on highlighting them individually thus dragging the process out over many weeks. No matter how much you delay, and therefore try to get us to pay extra, it won't work. We have an annual contract so only need to be approved, or going through the approval process, to receive the contract. From now on I will be informing the customer of your delaying tactics and constant wasting of my time, and ultimately, your own.”

“This was the first time that I had dealt with the SafeContractor accreditation process and was extremely impressed by the friendliness, assistance, cooperation, (patience!) and professionalism shown by all SafeContractor staff in particular a very nice young lady called Tamika. My communication with SafeContractor staff was both by e-mail and telephone.”

“It was a long tough process and is now quite expensive how ever the discount was good and helped and the services was great but I would not pay for membership again at full price only if O get the big discounts to help.”

“Each year the questions become more convoluted, with many unanswerable questions requiring a call for confirmation, the usual response being oh just ignore that and click n/a? This year's process has taken 4 months of constant reminders that this, that and the other document was required without any explanation as to what was the issue. To top it all we now have to complete a CDM requirement despite 4 years of being informed we didn't need this, we don't but SC has put "precision engineering" into a construction category even though we do not have anything to do with it.”

“Had a very good experience on the whole. The idea of providing an interim check and giving feedback works well. The only difficulty experienced was related to the name of the company on the insurance documents needing to be explained twice before being accepted as being valid.”

“I have found the staff on the SafeContractor team to be an excellent sounding board for advice and continued guidance in the assessment process. You can always rely on rapid and exact advice, this is during and after the audit process. They make the whole process as easy as they can, and this allows you to provide the correct documentation in plenty of time, first class support at all times.”

“Safe contractor or Alcumus are only interested in raising more money for themselves. At one point they ‘required’ us to send them full accounts and when I challenged it they eventually backed down and said it was optional if we ‘wanted’ an extra module. This is typical of their behaviour- even their emails claim they ‘tried to contact you by phone’ when they absolutely have not. The only thing they are interested in is their own income and how the can lever more and more money out of those unlucky enough to be required to use them by our clients. As we are a specialist supplier it is very clear they have no clue as to what it is we do.”
