Good product but a bit disjointed at times. We submitted documents that were in date when submitted but due to delays by SafeContractor during the assessment process, they became out of date and had to be resubmitted. Also documents where uploaded onto the portal but not seen by the assessor but overall the process works.

The process is far from ideal and feels like a way for SafContractor to make even more money out of its subscribers. hey deliberately take 20 working days to pre-assess your audit but the audit is only open 30 days before it's due, therefore you can not physically get the audits completed in time before your accreditation runs out. but don't worry!!! there is a "fast track" service that yes you guessed it... you can pay extra for, so that your audits can be checked in plenty of time before your accreditation runs out.

I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our process, if you are able to expand more around this point I would be happy to pass the feedback on to the relevant departments. Our contractors usually pick the response times required based on their specific needs at the time, the package that you choose determines the response time received. We will work as quickly as possible through our queue, contractors on a standard package may receive a response quicker, but we always strive to respond within the 20 working day service level set on the standard package. If contractors are able to submit their questionnaire 30 days before the expiry of their current certificate, this is usually sufficient time for us to complete our audit before the current certificate expires. We do give contractors the option to upgrade at any time during the process, if the need should arise dependant on their situation. I hope that this explains things more clearly, however if there is any further detail needed I would be more than happy to arrange a call to discuss further. Kind Regards Vicky

Hi Trevor, I'm really disappointed to see you've rated our service so poorly due to the queue time. Having reviewed your account, all the interactions logged on our system appear to be timely and relevant so unless there is something else regarding our service which let you down I feel one star is an unfair reflection. As a reminder - you set the first response time by selecting the package most suitable to your business. (Standard, Assisted, Express or Premier). The standard package is designed for businesses where time may not be of the essence. For future reference it may be useful to know that your questionnaire is available to complete all year round, and that you can then submit 30 days before your expiry. Very poor customer service reply I have recently had unauthorised money taken from my account, I have called and emailed on numerous occasions and barely had a reply or update as to how or why the money has been deducted. This is well over 30 days now and unacceptable. When my yearly payment was due I was hounded for the payment and they kept me waiting for quite a while once it had been paid.

I was already accredited with another company so I understood the process so it was easy for me. I was surprised by a couple of things:- my previous accreditation company asked for my 'Waste Carriers Licence' - I am a painter and decorator as soon as you undo a pot of paint it is classed as waste! Just wondered why I was not asked for this? You didn't ask me for a copy of my 'Accident' book, again previous company did. Just a couple of observations.

In regards to the "Waste Carriers Licence" - this would be picked up in the Sustainability part of the questionnaire under the "Environmental" topic. We ask that any accidents or incidents are declared, this is covered in the Heath and Safety section of the questionnaire, however we don't require a copy of the accident book, I have however passed your feedback on to our Audit team. Whilst our questionnaire might differ slightly to others that you have completed, it does meet all the SSIP requirements. Out of all the third party compliance schemes in operation, I find that Safe Contractor are the ones who offer genuine support, they are pro-active and most importantly, they talk to you!

I WAS LATE JOINING THE PROCESS BUT I HAVE TO SAY THE AUDITOR INVOLVED WAS SUPERB IN DEALING WITH THE REQUIREMENTS.

the audit process was efficient and acceptable. the Pre Audit 5 wk wait to be audited is another issue. we are aware that you should not have to wait 5 to 6 wks before audit begins but this appears to be a tactic and policy of safecontractor to push their clients into the fast track system. its incredible unneccesary to behave in this manner and it should be stopped. I am usually a person who scores in the high 9 and 10 bracket, I am realistic and understanding of most business demands and so I will be scoring low numbers for this sole reason. what is the reason for the delivery questions in this survey. ??...

I'm pleased to hear that you found the audit process satisfactory overall, but can appreciate your frustrations regarding the turn around time. Given the size of our business and the volume of contractors that we service, we do operate with a lead time of 20 working days before accreditation can be reviewed. It is because of this that we have packages available, for some businesses a quicker turn around is sometimes necessary where as for others they may be able to wait, depending on works undertaken at that time. There is no obligation to upgrade packages, this is simply an option if required. I would like to be able to address your query in regards to the delivery questions and ask that you please provide further context as to the nature of your concern.
