“Every year we are asked to provide more information than the year before. Sometimes we are asked to provide information that we established the year before we are not required to produce. Eg. We are not part of the Construction Industry Scheme but every year we are asked to provide information as if we were. There should be some way of saying that our basic work has not changed. We have been members for well over 10 years and the system has improved in this time eg. you can log onto the portal and upload information before the accreditation is due. But quite honestly I dread doing it every year as I never know what hoop I will have to jump through. We are a tiny company of just 4 people this should be taken into account when asking for information as our training and practices are a lot different to a big company.”

Our accreditation is based upon the the latest SSIP core criteria and so any change in the information requested will usually be linked to this core criteria. The questions that you are asked are based upon the work categories that you select when setting up the questionnaire. If you feel that some if this information is not relevant I would be happy to arrange a call with one of our Technical support officers so that you can review them to ensure that they are all appropriate for your business. “Generally a good accreditation to have and no long wait times when calling Safecontractor, however price is going up by a lot every year which is a major concern and the audit times are taking longer and longer.”

Hi Callum, Thanks for your feedback regarding the reaccreditation time. I'm sorry to hear you feel that our messaging wasn't clear enough. Would you be able to give any further detail on how and when it would have been helpful to receive clarification on the timescales for our audit? The process remains unchanged from last years audit with regards to the turnaround, which is our standard lead time of 20 working days. Becoming reaccredited is in our mutual interest which is why prior to renewal we will contact your 30 days in advance of expiry in order to reengage your business with the process and make you aware of the necessary timeframes. Upon submitting your questionnaire you should receive a confirmation message, dependent on the package you're one, when to expect a response. It may also be worth mentioning that you can complete your H&S questionnaire all year round, and then submit 30 days before expiry. Again, I'm really sorry that on this occasion we fell short in the level of service expected and if you wouldn't mind providing us with a little more context I'll make sure your suggestions are escalated to the right team.
