“I am glad we achieved this status and appreciate all the help we had with this. A couple of things that would have helped would have been as follows; 1 - Explain the amount of information that would be required based on what was told about my business. Things like fall harness etc... as I would have had more time to find this information to send across. 2 - Follow up much more and chase things down. I paid a premium for this but felt I wasn’t really helped that much and I seem to send the same info 2-3 times which is a little frustrating. Apart from that, which actually helped us tidy our operations up a little I was really pleased with the service given and hope this status will open some doors for us. All the best!”

Our system ensures that all contractors they work with have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. “Obviously safety comes first and safe contractor make sure all is in place, however we do feel that they keep moving the goalposts and are almost digging deeper into what’s required, sometimes it’s not relevant to us, we do feel overqualified in terms of some safety which leaves us a little confused, HSE guidelines always say try and keep it simple or no one will read it! Maybe I’m wrong? After many years with safe contractor I’m surprised it’s not recognised with most large companies or corporations only one of our customers have asked for the certification, most have never heard of safe contractor, but taking everything into account they do a really good job, very supportive and as stated safety always comes first.”

“The process was done great, and the system was easy to use however the only point I would like to make is the after process of waiting to hear back in regards to if we passed or not etc was a long process and took longer than expected. I think the timings on this could be improved.”

“The website was easy to use and the advisers were on hand to ask questions via chat which was helpful. I thought the time it took to verify us was rather long - over 4 weeks, but when we eventually got the feedback of what else we needed to the adviser was helpful and informative.”
