“Good service and generally happy except for long wait from submission to review/accreditation. I feel being asked to pay to speed this up is unfair when I have already paid for membership.”

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation! Our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted is 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry. Please accept our apologies for any issues caused by the delay this year. Regarding the option to upgrade to another package the cost of this is a reflection of the extra support received which in turn will speed up certain parts of the process. “Do not agree with raising renewal invoice 8 weeks early and then applying pressure via numerous emails to pay early”

Thank you for your feedback - renewal emails are sent out to act as a reminder as opposed to applying pressure. This was post feedback from contractors on needing enough time to process the questionnaire ready for renewal. “The website portal and the Technical Adviser have been very informative and helpful. Good instructions on loading our company details and documents onto the portal for assessment. I liked the idea of a pre-approval check by the Technical Adviser before the actual audit.”

“Started out poorly as there seemed to be to my way of thinking, a lack of understanding that we are a two person company and some of things you requested seemed to be well over the top of what was required, however once we had a discussion the assessor Keith was really helpful and the whole process then went forward with no further issues.”

“It's always very stressful and difficult due to your own work commitments. Linda Graham your Tech lady was very helpful.. Our main contractor needs this and it's part of their procurement, but apart from that we don't benefit from it.”

“It is a real headache to get accredited first time around especially if you are a small business. They are very helpful, but it really is a massive amount of paperwork to do initially. Once you have your accreditation it is a little easier each subsequent year and they have improved the auditing system portal somewhat in the last couple of years.”

If you find you are asked to have membership of multiple SSIP accreditations, then we recommend that you use a full SafeContractor accreditation to FastTrack to other SSIP schemes with up to a 77% discount. “The auditors at Safecontractor are always very helpful and supportive, they are the best part of the service. The system itself and the portal are not always fully user friendly but overall it provides the accreditation service we need and it’s respected by the trade.”

Our SSIP accreditation package includes PAS91 topics, however we have a variety of plans available to suit your need for support throughout the audit process, and price point. Please discuss with the team at your membership renewal if you would like to review your service level to save costs.
