“Those dealing with our renewal contacted us and gave us their contact details, queries were dealt with quickly by the named staff and we were kept informed of the process as it was happening. The whole process was so much easier and less stressful than some other accreditation bodies. Safecontractor worked with us and for us which is not always the perceived objective of other accreditation bodies.”

“Happy with the quality of the requirements from your customers. The accreditation is important to a lot of our customers and we can see why in the audit process. Wasn't too happy with the way our annual invoice works, this should naturally fall in-line with the date on the certificate. So got a few calls to pay the invoice when it wasn't even in my thinking. Was told this couldn't be changed so I'm likely to have the same conversation each year.”

“Simple process, just slower than expected”

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation! Our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted is 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry. “We now appear to be getting a lot of nit picking questions from auditors who do not appear to understand the construction industry. For example if you are carrying a comprehensive refurbishment contract it is difficult to submit a step by step Method statement.”

“I struggled a little this year - mainly due to working from home! A couple of specifications appear to have changed within the accreditation application which I somehow wasn't aware of. However I had a long conversation with Robin yesterday and my final point resolved and we now have accreditation, thank you Robin for your help.”

“Although the process was relatively straight forward and documents easy to upload into the portal, we felt the more information we gave to Safe Contractor, the more information they required to ascertain and prove our procedures and skilled tradesmen which was difficult at times due to live databases and felt the cost of this did not outweigh the value of costs we carried out on behalf of our Clients.”

“The questionnaire seemed to take an interminable time to be audited. It was submitted on the first available date and the audit commenced one week [7 days] before the certificates expiry. But, once the process started it didn't take too long to complete. One aspect that frankly annoyed me was that things like our H&S Policy, the content of which has never previously never been questioned, was found deficient in several areas. These were all covered by subordinate policies or procedures, so are covered within the management system.”
