“The website was easy to use and the advisers were on hand to ask questions via chat which was helpful. I thought the time it took to verify us was rather long - over 4 weeks, but when we eventually got the feedback of what else we needed to the adviser was helpful and informative.”

To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly. “The added cost for a quick turnaround in the assessment process is disappointing. It is perceived as a wheeze by many as a money making exercise and little else. The basic cost of getting accredited is high enough without all these cheesy packages”

“We respect the SC annual accreditation exercise because it keeps us 'on our toes' like an audit. There is generally a high level of support by SC staff during the exercise of submitting evidence. The only downside is the long delay between submission and accreditation, or requests for more info, as the case may be. The motive for this delay may be to encourage clients to pay more for a quick return, which approach we find unacceptable.”
