“My experience with SafeContractor was really good, all the forms you had to fill in were well explained and was easy to upload all the info required. With the package I had a I received regular updates on what I still needed to send and help with the documents that wasn’t quite rite. Thank you”

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. Our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted is 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. Our team endeavour to assess all questionnaires as quickly as possible and to provide as much assistance as possible. However if you would like to upgrade your package to have an express audit included or to include assistance from our team of expert IOSH and NEBOSH qualified auditors then this option is available to you also. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry.

“The audit is an easy process to follow & is quickly assessed. Above all else though, it a great accreditation to have and demonstrates to our clients that we take Health & Safety very seriously.”

“A slightly more complicated renewal process this year due to recent acquisitions however the auditing team at Safe Contractor were brilliant at advising and assisting with the detail and providing much needed support through to a successful renewal.”

“The assessment is way too stringent. It is going way beyond working safely. Maybe it could be renamed "ModelContractor" or "IdealisticContractor" ? (but this 2nd one is a bit long for a logo). Also there should be a better marketing effort to standardise the use of SafeContractor. At the moment our customers require us to get other standards similar to SC so we have to duplicate our time and efforts.”

As part of awarding our UK-leading accreditation annually, our team of expert auditors need to ensure that all contractors have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. Many client organisations choose to work with us because SafeContractor goes beyond the 14-point core SSIP criteria to ask risk-based questions tailored to contractor’s business profile. If you find you are asked to have membership of multiple SSIP accreditations, then we recommend that you gain a full SafeContractor accreditation to FastTrack to other SSIP schemes with up to a 77% discount. Our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted is 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. I can see that a Technical Support Officer requested more information from you on October 19th, and that once this was provided your audit was passed within 10 days. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating all of your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry. “The help I received from all staff was perfect and talked me through the process in easy to understand terms, the staff are very good. My only issue is the high cost almost £600.00 for a very small business with 2 staff and 1 labour only contractor (when needed) carrying out low risk work in low risk environments. I really think you should take this into consideration and charge a low cost set at £150.00 for the service.”

“We are now entering our fourth year within the ‘SafeContractor’ Health and Safety scheme offered by Alcumus. We look at reaccreditation as another way of providing an opportunity for enhancement and improvement as well as demonstrating to our customers how dedicated we are regarding systems, processes and the management of Health and Safety. We found the process to be straightforward once you have selected which level of support suits you and your company the best. You have your own dedicated team provided by SafeContractor and there is a strong support infrastructure of trained staff working at extremely high levels of expertise to help you every step of the way. Following our re-accreditation, we will be sharing this achievement on all the media platforms we have interest in. Our company website is currently undergoing a major rebuild and this too will reflect the SafeContractor accreditation with links to ‘Alcumus SafeContractor and SafePQQ’.”
