“As a user of Safe contractor Accreditation even though my clients no longer require me to be with Safe Contractor as a pre requisite that i had to be with Safe contractor i decided to stay with Safe contractor for another year, would have been nice i i got a few extra Safe Contractor logos sent out for my vans only to be told i would have to pay a further £15.00 if i wanted a further set sent out, Great! i have a think at re new time as to weather i need to be with Safe contractor !!!!!”

We have hundreds of clients who only work with SafeContractor approved contractors, and as an accredited member you are visible to all of these large brands when they seek to award work. All of our contractors are entitled to 5 stickers when they become accredited and any additional quantities are chargeable. “The issue I had was that the system kept on kicking me out and was very slow, it took me numerous attempts to complete the information required and took quite some time...not sure if this was to do with uploading the documents or a glitch in the system. Also it would be really useful, especially if updating throughout the year, to see what documents are out of date at a glance ie: maybe they turn red, rather than having to open everything when maybe not everything needs updating.”

“Paid renewal fee in May, told I could access the questionnaire on 2.9.19 and received email to confirm this on 2.9.19. When questionnaire was submitted I was informed audit would take up to 20 working days. As our accreditation expired on 1.10 our questionnaire would have had to be submitted the same day to guarantee continual cover. Thus forced to pay for an express service as our clients require SSIP in place to allocate works. Told I would get a response within 48 working hours, this was not kept and additional information was requested 3 times to actually get approval. If you have such a delay on your audits questionnaires should be available in advance of 30 days”

We are always looking to improve the service that we provide and have introduced packages that enable contractors requiring accreditation quickly to use an express service that is guaranteed to be completed faster than our standard audit time of 4 weeks. If you require any guidance on the documentation required then our team of technical experts are on hand and are always happy to help. Our contractor portal is available year-round, so to speed up this process going forward we recommend uploading your up to date documents throughout the year so that when your questionnaire is released 30 days prior to expiry, you are ready to submit. “The portal is easy to use, and the process, therefore, so much less time consuming than before. There were a couple of areas where I was unsure of what to submit, but the SafeContractor help desk and it's auditors were so helpful and specific with their guidance, resolving any issues, ensuring my successful accreditation.”
