“This year was a difficult process from your side - I did not receive my phone call after paying, which pushed my timings out. This lead to my renewal date being a week late, cost me loss in work. Also some of my work categories have been changed as I could not achieve them this year, even thought I have passed them for the last 4 years?”

“I find Alcumus over priced and very slow with the Audit process so they can try to charge even more money. CHAS took a couple off days and did all the work.”

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. Our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted is 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. Our team endeavour to assess all questionnaires as quickly as possible and to provide as much assistance as possible. However if you would like to upgrade your package to have an express audit included or to include assistance from our team of expert IOSH and NEBOSH qualified auditors then this option is available to you also. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry. “I paid for the express service and it was well worth the extra. Missing evidence and additional documentation was quickly identified and submitted and the rapid turnaround allowed us to achieve accreditation within a few days.”

“I found the members of the accreditation team very helpful especially Tara Staples who assisted in reviewing our submitted information expediently to enable the accreditation procedure to be completed within the required renewal date. Tara also provided feedback to enable the correct information to be provided.”

“The process of submitting compliance evidence is easy and well organised with prompts coming in good time. The only lack of clarity was in reference to the assessor team having further 10 working days after the initial 20 of 'waiting time' to review the documents. After I have raised this with the team, the information I sent was looked into immediately and evidence accepted.”

“There are far too many different accreditation schemes all verifying the same things to the same level of detail but each costing significant money to subscribe to. Despite jumping through all these hoops, Suppliers are still required to complete PQQs and tender documents which is also very time consuming. Suppliers are held to ransom by accreditation organisations as if they choose not to pay for the service, it threatens their client relationships. It is unreasonable that hard working suppliers are forced to subscribe to so many different schemes all verifying the same information. It is a racket.”

If you have to complete this for multiple clients and find this expensive, we recommend reviewing the SSIP Deem to Satisfy criteria – many accreditation schemes offer significant discounts for their audit process if you have existing accreditation awards with other SSIP members.
