“The process is bizarre as the payment date is before the accreditation renewal date which is confusing. Why cant this be the same? The process took quite some time to complete, which is a hindrance, I appreciate the COVID crisis but all examiners work from home anyway? The cost continues to increase but what do we get for our money?”

Thank you for your feedback, and congratulations on your accreditation. Your payment date doesn't change as this is the anniversary of when you first joined the scheme and you will always make your annual payment on this date. Your accreditation date is dependent on when you achieved accreditation after completing the audit process. This varies from your payment date as naturally cannot be completed in a day, and depends on how long it takes you each year to complete the audit and become approved. If you require any assistance with understanding the process or how your accreditation and renewal dates work then please do not hesitate to contact our team of IOSH and NEBOSH qualified auditors. Our team are always on hand and happy to assist you, whether they are currently working at home due to the pandemic or once we safely return to our office.

“The process is fairly self-explanatory and the help and assistance off the SC team is very good and they do explain what they require very well. The only small point that I would make is that it takes quite a while from initial submission to final approval.”

To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry. “Time taken to receive accreditation following submission on the standard scheme is too long. For a design consultant the H&S information requested should be more specific to the nature of the work undertaken. Most consultants have office based staff, rather than a site workforce.”
