“I don’t understand the rationale in terms of the auditing process, we are asked to complete the online questionnaire 30 days before our certificate is about to expire, this year we had our application form filled in and back within a week and yet our new certificate wasn’t sent out until the day before our original certificate was due to expire, however we were told that if we paid an additional fee, we could get fast tracked, why not audit our application form as soon as we submit it”

“A waste of money, of no benefit to our business, and lots of sales calls....which was expected. I would NEVER EVER recommend SafeContractor, and what's worse, the auditors are not 100% conversant with the relevant legisltation to the location of the business going through this uselss exercise.”

“Been a member now for over 10 years so know the renewal process pretty well. All went ok thisa year although the promised / paid for 3 day audit was not honoured (apparently due to a shortage of avaliable auditors). No refund for this failure was forthcoming.”

“I have used S/C for many years and this was the most poor year bar far. It has taken well over a month to process. I paid the amount required to complete with in 20 days and it took a month. My S/C expired without having any contact from S/C. I had to call up twice to find out what was happening. This is very frustrating and unusual from my previous experience. I think it’s been very poor and clearly you want customer to pay the extra £85 to speed up the process. If this is so then you should charge the correct amount for the service in the first place. Very frustrating!”

“Of all the HSE portals, I have to manage, SafeContractor is by far the slowest, when login on, I generally go for a cup of tea, have breakfast by this time the system has logged me on. When going from section to section, it is still very slow, which has been the case for many years. It might be worth consulting with your portal service provider so as to speed things up?”

“It's quite time consuming to be honest, but then I suppose it should be, after all it's not worth having if it's easy. I'm disappointed not to have received an up to date logo for our website, nor one for Sustainability Accrediation Silver Award, as that would be good to put on our company paperwork and website, but I understand that it's going to be a necessary part of the SafeContractor accreditation in future so no additional logo is deemed to be required but I still think it's a missed opportunity for positive marketing.”

“I found this year that Safecontractor was slow to respond to any emails and took a very long time to process my renewal. Last year I got a safecontractor card, nothing this year. Also last year I got a proper certificate, this year nothing. Not great for the cost.”

“Always very slow to actually accredited the qualification to the point our ceritification expires before we are recertified. My emails were also ignored and I ended up having to seek a contact out via linkedin to resolve.”

“We submitted our application at the end of February and heard nothing till the final day that Alcumus must respond ( this has happened before they try and leave it to encourage you to use the enhanced service and pay more. We left it knowing they would contact us ) None of our suppliers noticed that it hadnt renewed which makes us question why we even need it. Once we were given an assessor it took 11 days not the promised 5. This is a money making machine . Dont use them unless you absolutely have to”
