It’s an online assessment that show a customer you can provide a basic safety standard on paper. They don’t carry onsite audits so can’t say it’s going to show you operate on site safely. We carry out onsite assessment with an independent H&S assessor which has much more value. Heyho it ticks a box

The Safecontractor online platform is very easy to use and the auditors are always very helpful during the annual audits by providing guidance.

Positives - All the staff I have dealt with have been really helpful and friendly. They are quick to respond and knowledgeable. The questionnaires are well written and easy to follow, giving examples of what documents would be accepted makes the process a lot easier Negatives - Questionnaires only available 4 weeks before the end of accreditation is due for renewal which is how long it takes to be processed, leaving no room for error. I understand that this is to try to get people to pay for an express service, but it's a bit cheeky. Side note, below question "How quick did the company reply to your queries?", my answer would be 2 days but there is not an option!

Previously, you could submit the renewal questionnaire 30 days before your expiry date. Now, we've extended that window to 60 days before expiry, giving you an additional 30 days to complete the submission. We hope this change makes a positive difference as you prepare for next year! Portal un-reliable and difficult to use. Often doesn't load. Always a delay in assessment unless you pay to "fasttrack"

The original person that this was assigned to did not return e-mails or phone calls, sent a request for information that had already been provided and ignored responses. I had to ring up and complain and ask for it to be assigned to another person and state that I wanted a note on file to say that the original person it was assigned to was never to be involved with us ever again. Once a new individual was assigned it was dealt with within the week.

Obviously the pandemic has caused considerable difficulties however, I have received excellent advice and support upon my application to renew my accreditation. Your assessor has been excellent and he brought up some parts of our H&S that needed updating. His useful advice and information provided me with a clearer path which has proved successull. I received our new accreditation cetificate by e mail next day and we are awaiting mail delivery.

completed all the relevant documentation within time of the expiry date, but after 20 days I had to contact SafeContractor to chase up the process, who informed me that an auditor will be looking into it soon. Then I had to wait a further 2 weeks due to the Christmas break and then again I had to phone to chase up!! following this phone call we passed the accreditation process within a day of making the call.

Only issue was that we sent off questionnaire on the very first day that we were able to submit ie, 30 Days before but we still had not been audited until after our cert had expired which made carrying on working on sites difficult as we needed a cert in date to continue with our business

very poor, every year we have to go through a pre screening process supplying additional or points of clarity only then to be passed to an auditor who requests further information or sometimes has a conflicting point of view as what is needed very frustrating, no improvement year on year, auditors seems to lack practical understanding around health and safety
