“We submitted our application 3 weeks before our certificate was due to expire. The application was not assessed until the day of the expiry. There were some items we needed to re-submit. This meant our accreditation lapsed for a few weeks. This was flagged on our Dwellant profile and could have resulted in us losing contracts. It would be great if the assessment process started as soon as the documents were submitted and we would like some advice about the optimum lead-in time to ensure this doesn't happen again next year. All the assessors were really helpful”

“Usually, the accreditation process is straightforward, however, the situation with Covid, lockdowns etc. this past year has meant our ability to carry out Site activity was limited. This meant it was difficult to meet the request to provide a sub-contractor site audit within the last 12 months. I provided one that was just over 12 months old, however, this was deemed as unacceptable and one within 12 months had to be provided. It was disappointing to find Safe Contractor were not willing to allow any flexibility given the exceptional circumstances we have all faced over the last two years.”

“Took a little longer to complete the process due to our company activities not fitting into a box for construction. Once clear communication established with our designated Health and Safety Advisor we found it very helpful to complete the audit to achieve the accreditation.”

“They now have added a PQQ extra which you have to have even if you don't need it which is extra money. Unless you then pay for premium or can submit the info the day they make the questionnaire available, you will be late getting the accreditation, trying to force the user to pay extra. The assessors don't always read the submissions and ask you the questions you have already answered, again delaying things. Would not consider using SafeContractor if a customer did not require accrediation, it is just a money-making exercise.”

“It really is a straight forward process, you answer the questions, upload any supporting documents and evidence required. When your happy that you have completed the sections within the questionnaire click the submit button. You will be informed that your completed assessment has been passed to the auditors and they will be in touch soon.”

“Having gone through SafeContractor accreditation a few years ago with a previous employer, I was pleasantly surprised by how much the process has improved since then. It is well worth paying the relatively small amount extra for the rapid responses and for the consultant's help. I was able to speak to our auditor within a couple of minutes of picking up the phone each time, the feedback on our submission was concise and helpful, and the whole process was quick and relatively painless.”
