Very poor customer service reply I have recently had unauthorised money taken from my account, I have called and emailed on numerous occasions and barely had a reply or update as to how or why the money has been deducted. This is well over 30 days now and unacceptable. When my yearly payment was due I was hounded for the payment and they kept me waiting for quite a while once it had been paid.

I was already accredited with another company so I understood the process so it was easy for me. I was surprised by a couple of things:- my previous accreditation company asked for my 'Waste Carriers Licence' - I am a painter and decorator as soon as you undo a pot of paint it is classed as waste! Just wondered why I was not asked for this? You didn't ask me for a copy of my 'Accident' book, again previous company did. Just a couple of observations.

In regards to the "Waste Carriers Licence" - this would be picked up in the Sustainability part of the questionnaire under the "Environmental" topic. We ask that any accidents or incidents are declared, this is covered in the Heath and Safety section of the questionnaire, however we don't require a copy of the accident book, I have however passed your feedback on to our Audit team. Whilst our questionnaire might differ slightly to others that you have completed, it does meet all the SSIP requirements. Out of all the third party compliance schemes in operation, I find that Safe Contractor are the ones who offer genuine support, they are pro-active and most importantly, they talk to you!

I WAS LATE JOINING THE PROCESS BUT I HAVE TO SAY THE AUDITOR INVOLVED WAS SUPERB IN DEALING WITH THE REQUIREMENTS.

the audit process was efficient and acceptable. the Pre Audit 5 wk wait to be audited is another issue. we are aware that you should not have to wait 5 to 6 wks before audit begins but this appears to be a tactic and policy of safecontractor to push their clients into the fast track system. its incredible unneccesary to behave in this manner and it should be stopped. I am usually a person who scores in the high 9 and 10 bracket, I am realistic and understanding of most business demands and so I will be scoring low numbers for this sole reason. what is the reason for the delivery questions in this survey. ??...

I'm pleased to hear that you found the audit process satisfactory overall, but can appreciate your frustrations regarding the turn around time. Given the size of our business and the volume of contractors that we service, we do operate with a lead time of 20 working days before accreditation can be reviewed. It is because of this that we have packages available, for some businesses a quicker turn around is sometimes necessary where as for others they may be able to wait, depending on works undertaken at that time. There is no obligation to upgrade packages, this is simply an option if required. I would like to be able to address your query in regards to the delivery questions and ask that you please provide further context as to the nature of your concern. Despite submitting the questionnaire on the earliest day possible, it wasn't picked up even for first review until more a month had passed. Then told it would be a further 10 days for the assessor to go through it. Slow process that almost tries to force companies to pay extra for a fast track process, if they are to have any hope of getting a new certificate as their existing one expires. If clients didn't request it, we wouldn't use.

The questionnaire is open all year around so that you may fill it in and upload documents at your convenience. The submit button becomes available 30 days prior to the expiry date of your current certificate which on the standard package usually gives us plenty of time to assess your file within the agreed timescales even if further information is requested during the process. We do have several packages available for contractors to choose from, these offer a variation of response times and support with the process, these are optional dependant on our contractors needs. All Good, the only issue recently raised, is that the time allocated to complete the yearly audit and the processing time taken, passes the certification date and we get inundated by clients advising us that our certification has expired.

In terms of timescales, the questionnaire is open all year around for you to fill in and upload documents so that you can do this at your convenience. The submit button will become available 30 days prior to your current certificate's expiry to give us time to review your file before the current certificate runs out. There are also options to upgrade the package you are on which would give different options for response times and assistance. Because we are on the lowest package you draw the process out. If we haven't submitted everything required then we obviously expect you to pull us up on it. If we fail on a few things why do you insist on highlighting them individually thus dragging the process out over many weeks. No matter how much you delay, and therefore try to get us to pay extra, it won't work. We have an annual contract so only need to be approved, or going through the approval process, to receive the contract. From now on I will be informing the customer of your delaying tactics and constant wasting of my time, and ultimately, your own.
