“I always find this process difficult and whilst I appreciate that you require comprehensive information and documentation, I think some of the requested information is unnecessary and overly pedantic. Further, I appreciate that the process is only once a year, but even so, takes an inordinate amount of time to reach final approval.”

Thank you for your review. Please accept our apologies that you found the process difficult on this occasion. Our team are available via email and telephone to provide any assistance you need. Our portal is available year-round, and to make the submission process quicker and easier, we recommend uploading updated documents throughout the year. You will then be able to save these documents and submit them when the questionnaire becomes available, 30 days prior to your accreditation expiry. Thank you for giving us your feedback. We are unable to complete the audit process until all documentation has been submitted. We can see that during your audit process your auditor contacted you to request additional information and that once this was received, your audit was promptly passed. If at your audit renewal you require any additional support with understanding what documents are required for the audit to be submitted and accreditation awarded then please do not hesitate to contact our team directly, who are always happy to support you. “Awful. Supported 9 applications this year. This was a group application based on a shared management system. Pre-auditor was not fully aware of their own tech capability nor policies wasting a seriously unnecessary amount of time. The auditor to be fair was good and knowledgeable. over 800 documents later the application passed through. Certificates arrive and there's one for each group member but the overall certificate just has a singular name and no mention of any of the constituent group either upfront or on page 2 terms of reference. The whole purpose of the group certificate is to bid for group work but if the certificate does not make clear the scope of audit what use it!? I spoke to the most belligerent complaint manager after the auditor told me their hands were tied, who contradicted himself so much it would have been commincal had it not been for the massive expenses in application fees and person-hours we had lost. No resolution left to lump it yet its been managed by CHAS, Achillies, Lloyds Register CFA, etc whom I deal with. Worst experience of an SSIP scheme ever.”

“For the past three years I have been carrying out our submission for SafeContractor Accreditation and each year I benefit from the improvements that have been made and continue to be made to the application process. This year in particular it was extremely beneficial to know that the portal was open to start compiling the necessary documentation ahead of the renewal date, so it afforded me the opportunity to get on top of the submission rather than it being a panic a month before renewal. I found the process extremely straightforward and any issues I did encounter were quickly dealt with by the team either through an email or phone call. I would thoroughly recommend SafeContractor.”

“This is not just a comment to Safecontractor but to all SSiP related H&S accreditors. Our clients are the most important thing to us. They have their own requirements, they ask For Safecontractor, CHAS, Constructionline, SMAS, Gas Safe, Builders Profile and so on. To be honest the list is exhausting and many hours are taken up satisfying the demands of these accreditors. Why is there not a nationally approved standard that can be used as a deemed to satisfy accreditation?”

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. Clients choose to work with us because we enable them to have greater visibility of the health and safety compliance of their supply chain. Our system ensures that all contractors they work with have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. If you find that you are being asked for multiple SSIP accreditations, then all SSIP schemes operate a Deem to Satisfy criteria where you can use one accreditation to evidence your compliance and therefore complete a reduced question set to gain your additional SSIP accreditation. “Great Service, however I would like to get a advance email reminding me that the online workbook is available for submission at least 8 weeks prior to the deadline rather than 4 weeks which makes it very tight to meet.”

Thanks for your review. Our submission portal is available all year so we recommend uploading your updated documents throughout the year to make these readily available. This will help with speeding up the accreditation submission process when the audit questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry. Congratulations on your accreditation!
