Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. Clients choose to work with us because we enable them to have greater visibility of the health and safety compliance of their supply chain. Our system ensures that all contractors they work with have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. To make the process easier next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly.

Very sales focussed, constantly trying to sell add-ons. I understand it is a business but this is a bit much! We only use safe contractor because one client wants us to have a SSIP scheme accreditation.

Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on your accreditation. Clients choose to work with us because we enable them to have greater visibility of the health and safety compliance of their supply chain. Our system ensures that all contractors they work with have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. Our turnaround time on a standard package can take up to 20 days and does not include auditor assistance, so in circumstances where we feel that you may benefit from additional support or speed we will recommend our package upgrades. Please accept our apologies for any issues this has caused you. To make the audit process easier next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly.

Overly complicated, asks questions and for proof of items covered last year which have a three year renewal date. Only undertake this extra burden of red tape, as one client requires it. Every new client requires a different accreditation by a different supplier, forcing small company's like ourselves out of the bidding process. Eventually there will only larger national company's in the commercial market place, who will subcontract out all the work to small company's making less and less profit.

Clients choose to work with us because we enable them to have greater visibility of the health and safety compliance of their supply chain. Our system ensures that all contractors they work with have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. We conduct an annual audit which means that all documentation needs to be submitted each year in order for accreditation to be awarded. To make the process easier next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly. We are committed to supporting SMEs, and SafeContractor accreditation has empowered our members who own small businesses to win more work and in some cases to even double their turnover in less than a year. Dear all, we have a little non standard business. We are not working in buildings and we are not installing electrtical installtions in buildings. What do we do is installing machinery but we do not install civils etc. . And on machinery we have control systems which require electical wiring etc For us it looks / feels very different in the SC approach on these major subjects. Also in previous year our OHSAS18001 accreditation was taken into account. This year audit it felt as if rules were changed to adapt the proof of OHSAS on several items in the list. Hopefully you may be able to see / check what SC is more detailed standing for and how companies like ours can/may be judged in a different view? Thanks to our auditor again and hopefully this feed back is of help. In case of questions or if you feel to gt in touch do not hesitate but contact us. With kind regards, Egbert . Our main issue is that SC Always compares us to the

Thank you for your feedback, and congratulations on your accreditation! With regards to the items raised, our technical team manager has looked into this for you and can see that you have been assessed for process plant engineering works which would cover you for installing machinery. This appears to cover the scope of works you undertake following the description provided, but if this needs to be changed or is inaccurate then please do not hesitate to contact us directly. In relation to your query regarding 18001, I can see that in previous audits you were assessed via the SSIP (deemed to satisfy) route meaning that the majority of the core criteria element of the questionnaire set is covered under your SSIP audit. This would explain why you may have had to provide further documentation in this year’s audit, as your details do not appear on the SSIP portal this year. Hopefully the above information answers your questions, but if not please do not hesitate to contact us.

I feel it should be easier to link SSIP Accreditations. We have always provided CHAS accreditations so it is clear we have it and are eligible to apply for SAFECONTRACTOR using SSIP however we were never advised of this by SAFECONTRACTOR and it was only noticed by chance on CHAS website during process of re accreditation so I called and was it was then confirmed we were eligible. I then had to wait for a call from our assessor and then email him and ask him to process is using SSIP which seems a bit unnecessarily complicated. Also charging extra for swift decisions when you can't submit until a certain date also seems unfair

Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on your accreditation! I have noted your SSIP accreditation on our system. To ensure that your discounted price is applied, at renewal please ensure that your CHAS accreditation is still active and request a 'SSIP - Deem to Satisfy' route to SafeContractor accreditation. We offer a range of packages to ensure that our customers can get accredited with as much speed and support as they need. To make the process easier next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal so that when the questionnaire is released 30 days before expiry you can re-submit your up to date documents quickly.

I feel that Alcumus are looking for an easy ride - i.e. they want documents in specific format/layout, unfortunately we operate our business to sit our customers requirements (who will also be Alcumus Customers, thus our documents and thus proof are written and laid ou in a specific way, I found the whole process consumed too much of my time given that we as an organisation successfully pass our ISO audits (9001 / 14001 / 45001) every year, surely this should be evidence enough?

Accreditation was late due to admin assistant being on leave and no out of office, took a week for someone at SC to pick up on their inbox, resulting in 36 hours of lost works orders from our client

Much of the process seems to be geared to larger businesses. As a SME with just 8 employees, it seems a bit OTT. I'd like to see a 'lite' version, or similar, which is more relevant to the smaller business.

The accreditation process is straight forward enough, it is a same you have to pay additional costs to fast track. It should be considered to improve the speed of the overall accreditation process by employing additional assessors?

you ask for one set of information and then your accreditation team want to see something else - This has been very time consuming having to locate different information. also asking for policies we don't have, want or need, and having to pay lip service by 'creating a document' to suit your requirements not ours!

I always find this process difficult and whilst I appreciate that you require comprehensive information and documentation, I think some of the requested information is unnecessary and overly pedantic. Further, I appreciate that the process is only once a year, but even so, takes an inordinate amount of time to reach final approval.

This is not just a comment to Safecontractor but to all SSiP related H&S accreditors. Our clients are the most important thing to us. They have their own requirements, they ask For Safecontractor, CHAS, Constructionline, SMAS, Gas Safe, Builders Profile and so on. To be honest the list is exhausting and many hours are taken up satisfying the demands of these accreditors. Why is there not a nationally approved standard that can be used as a deemed to satisfy accreditation?

Our system ensures that all contractors they work with have the relevant documentation in place to comply with health and safety legislation. If you find that you are being asked for multiple SSIP accreditations, then all SSIP schemes operate a Deem to Satisfy criteria where you can use one accreditation to evidence your compliance and therefore complete a reduced question set to gain your additional SSIP accreditation. If you have any further queries about how this works then please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team directly.
