Hi Touch-Less Hygiene UK Ltd t/a Sanondaf UK, Thank you for your feedback. We truly value the insights we receive from our customers, and in response to your feedback, we've made an improvement. Previously, you could submit the renewal questionnaire 30 days before your expiry date. Now, we've extended that window to 60 days before expiry, giving you an additional 30 days to complete the submission. Although this does not change the response time of the standard package, this will hopefully allow extra time for the audit to take place ensuring a smoother process for coming years. We hope this change makes a positive difference as you prepare for next year! Best regards, SafeContractor

Very long winded process. 1st Auditor (pre-audit stage) stated audit was now with the final audit team, but it turned out it wasn't and ended up with numerous calls from me, with eventually asking for a new auditor. I submitted this 30 days before the expiry date and ended up receiving the certificate a month after this date! Shocking experience this time around. No communication.

The first person I had wasn't very useful and didn't give very comprehensive feedback. Things were getting rejected and the rejection feedback wasn't relevant, and it got accepted the second time around if I just got it resigned and redated, despite being within a year. I went on holiday and left it for a month or so, and a different person came back with feedback, which was different, but the second person was really useful and helpful, and provided guidence and support.

We were disappointed with the service from SafeContractor this year. We pay for a standard service and as usual submitted our H&S documentation on the first day we were able to do so. SafeContractor are supposed to be in touch within 20 working days. The audit team failed to make contact within this time and our SafeContractor accreditation expired. Our SafeContractor membership has different dates to the accreditation and expires after the accreditation expiry date, but SafeContractor regularly sent emails chasing payment throughout the time they should have been conducting the audit! Unfortunately this gives the impression that SafeContractor are more interested in taking contractors' money rather than providing the service they are charging for. The audit was eventually completed after our Director had an angry phone call with SafeContractor. We've been using SafeContractor for years and this should not be necessary. They tried to make the excuse that we had only paid for the standard service - But if their standard service isn't fit for purpose (i.e. accreditation expires before audit is done) why do they offer this? Or is the service slow to encourage contractors to pay more for faster service?? Apart from the poor, slow service, the SafeContractor system is user friendly and the process of submitting documentation etc. is straightforward.

Found the entire porcess to be tedious and repetative. We have SSIP with CHAS and Constructionline, and fail to see how we benefit from a third accrediation that asks the same questions. Would love to know how it benefits the principle contractor to pressure small to medium businesses, in order to, get on their supplier list.

We have recently been awared the safe contratcor accreditation although it was a lengthy process, in my opinion it took far too long. Appreciate we did not pay the express service premium, but i submitted the last of my evidence in early march on the portal but did not recieve the certificate until early May after repeatingly sending more and more evidence. Some of the request in my opinion were not needed. Our exsisting certificate in the meantime expired. I believe we had two auditors checking and requesting further evidence, once sent it took more time to check this over which was fustrating. We are seriously considering not re-applying next year. All in all not happy with this service. Regards..

I have used S/C for many years and this was the most poor year bar far. It has taken well over a month to process. I paid the amount required to complete with in 20 days and it took a month. My S/C expired without having any contact from S/C. I had to call up twice to find out what was happening. This is very frustrating and unusual from my previous experience. I think it’s been very poor and clearly you want customer to pay the extra £85 to speed up the process. If this is so then you should charge the correct amount for the service in the first place. Very frustrating!

Of all the HSE portals, I have to manage, SafeContractor is by far the slowest, when login on, I generally go for a cup of tea, have breakfast by this time the system has logged me on. When going from section to section, it is still very slow, which has been the case for many years. It might be worth consulting with your portal service provider so as to speed things up?

Too slow You are the only SSIP provider I know that has a 45-day turnaround, especially as you are only issuing your certificates on the back of someone elses, and they have done the all the hard work auditing for you. And you are the only one that charges an upgrade fee to have the audit completed faster.

It’s not aimed at very small family companies that do not work in construction and work from home address and do not employ anyone

It's protracted unless you pay a premium to have it dealt with swiftly. I had submitted documents that were within date, but when someone looked at the file these had expired so was requested to re-submit new ones.

We have the same problem every year. We are a small specialised metering company where we provide on site support for univeristies and contractors on new builds and refurbishment. However, we do not carry out installation work on these jobs but require Safecontractor status by the univeristies. Your system is very inflexible so we end up with the same problem having to explain what we do and why we are not a constrution company / construction contractor although we have to visit these site.

30 days prior to renewal doesn't seem long enough. This puts alot of pressure on the business to submit evidence within 10 days as it take at least 20 days for SafeContractor to audit your inputs. Unless you pay more of course - which doesn't seem fair. Technical support is always willing to assist and support.

I felt that the process was slower than anticipated, we rely heavily on getting the accreditation to guarantee work within the construction industry, our membership expired on 10th January and we were unable to renew before this, this meant that there was a delay and we did not become fully accredited again before 1st February, this impacted our work in the sense that no jobs would be able ot be confirmed until we proved full accreditation again, because of this we are now considering looking elsewhere next year to be accredited. I think that to learn from this, perhaps allowing a company to submit and have their evidence reviewed before the renewal date would be more appropriate to avoid delays and potential impact on a business getting work.

Normally really efficient but this year we had to call numerous times past the review date to get someone to review our submission. We were constantly promised that it was being done or would be complet the next day. It didnt happen without a lot of chasing. Not sure what the problem was because this is not what we are used to

Overall completing the accreditation on the portal was easy to navigate, the help team were very good and a always got a quick reponse, the only criticism i have is the timescale for the audit, having to wait so long toget feedback, I understand we pay a fee for the accrdidation yet we need to pay extra for a rapid audit check, i think that's unfair.

Two of the auditors left during out audit for the accreditation and we had to chase SafeContractor multiple times as to what stage this is in and with who. However, at the end, the last auditor was very helpful and fast at completing this.
