when you receive help, they are usually helpful, but you only receive help if you wait 20 days or 5 days etc or PAY for a speeded up service

Too slow You are the only SSIP provider I know that has a 45-day turnaround, especially as you are only issuing your certificates on the back of someone elses, and they have done the all the hard work auditing for you. And you are the only one that charges an upgrade fee to have the audit completed faster.

Hi Liebherr - Great Britain Limited, Thank you for your feedback. We truly value the insights we receive from our customers, and in response to your feedback, we've made an improvement. Previously, you could submit the renewal questionnaire 30 days before your expiry date. Now, we've extended that window to 60 days before expiry, giving you an additional 30 days to complete the submission. We hope this change makes a positive difference as you prepare for next year! Best regards, SafeContractor

It’s not aimed at very small family companies that do not work in construction and work from home address and do not employ anyone

It's protracted unless you pay a premium to have it dealt with swiftly. I had submitted documents that were within date, but when someone looked at the file these had expired so was requested to re-submit new ones.

We have the same problem every year. We are a small specialised metering company where we provide on site support for univeristies and contractors on new builds and refurbishment. However, we do not carry out installation work on these jobs but require Safecontractor status by the univeristies. Your system is very inflexible so we end up with the same problem having to explain what we do and why we are not a constrution company / construction contractor although we have to visit these site.

30 days prior to renewal doesn't seem long enough. This puts alot of pressure on the business to submit evidence within 10 days as it take at least 20 days for SafeContractor to audit your inputs. Unless you pay more of course - which doesn't seem fair. Technical support is always willing to assist and support.

I felt that the process was slower than anticipated, we rely heavily on getting the accreditation to guarantee work within the construction industry, our membership expired on 10th January and we were unable to renew before this, this meant that there was a delay and we did not become fully accredited again before 1st February, this impacted our work in the sense that no jobs would be able ot be confirmed until we proved full accreditation again, because of this we are now considering looking elsewhere next year to be accredited. I think that to learn from this, perhaps allowing a company to submit and have their evidence reviewed before the renewal date would be more appropriate to avoid delays and potential impact on a business getting work.

Normally really efficient but this year we had to call numerous times past the review date to get someone to review our submission. We were constantly promised that it was being done or would be complet the next day. It didnt happen without a lot of chasing. Not sure what the problem was because this is not what we are used to

Overall completing the accreditation on the portal was easy to navigate, the help team were very good and a always got a quick reponse, the only criticism i have is the timescale for the audit, having to wait so long toget feedback, I understand we pay a fee for the accrdidation yet we need to pay extra for a rapid audit check, i think that's unfair.

Two of the auditors left during out audit for the accreditation and we had to chase SafeContractor multiple times as to what stage this is in and with who. However, at the end, the last auditor was very helpful and fast at completing this.

Staff were helpful when we spoke to them but could be slow at responding to telephone contacts if they were unavailable

Service was slow, and difficult to get hold of anyone to push our submission through. Telephone line was not working (due to staff training the message said) when trying to chase. That said the staff on the helpline number were curteous and helpful when i did get through although unable to directly do anything they had to refer it on to others.

Take too long to commence and send questionnaire. And always pushing for express accreditation fee to be paid to expedite. Service should be quicker without necessity to pay a fee to expedite, thus only acceptable score.

Our accrediation expired on the 14th December 2023. Although we had provided all the required paperwork and completed the online form by the middle of November 2023, it wasn't looked at until after the 14th Dec 2023. This resulted in a gap in our accredication which subsiquently affects some of our contracts. It would be much more benefical to us not to have a gap in our membership. Is there a way this could be set up? Any information you could provide would be appreicated.

Every year we find the process relentless. We provide all the documents as specified only to be asked for additional documentation weeks later, or to be asked for documents which has already been supplied. The rate goes up year on year, but I do not see any benefit at this stage with Safecontractor. Please also look at the questions you ask below. It is for a courier services? Completely noy relevant to Safecontractor or are you a courier service as well?

No problem with issuing the accreditation documentation. But due to the first date we were allowed to submit our documentation/questionnaire was the 18th December, which we did, and then received an email from yourselves saying it will be reviewed within 20 working days. Because it was Christmas, that 20 working days took the review date to more the end of January and not the expiry date of 18th January. It may be beneficial to issue an earlier date to submit our questionnaire if it falls on the Christmas break.

Everybody I spoke to was great and very helpful and the application submission process itself was easy. However the overall process, specifically the review times left me with a slight sour taste. The initial application takes 20 working days to be reviewed, the the secondary review takes 5 days. This is 25 working days. Considering the application can only be submitted 30 days, not working days, just 30 days before it runs out this almost guarantees your old accreditation will run out for a week or two before it gets re-accepted.... Unless you pay to have it fast tracked...
