Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. Our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted is 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. Our team endeavour to assess all questionnaires as quickly as possible and to provide as much assistance as possible. However if you would like to upgrade your package to have an express audit included or to include assistance from our team of expert IOSH and NEBOSH qualified auditors then this option is available to you also. To make the process faster next year, we recommend updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry. If you have any further queries about how this works then please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team directly.

Nothing ever changes for us as a small business, so the annual in depth questions that change ever so slightly can be a little inconvenient. One is asked a question, which we submit then it's further questions that should have been asked in the first place. As a small business, the question should be "Has anything changed for you in the last 12 months". The charges for this accreditation are also getting too high.

The whole process is complicated and could be simplified quite easily. As a sole trader, I found that some of the information requested was not applicable to me but the questionnaire did not allow n/a as an answer therefore causing unnecessary paperwork. I need the accreditation for the company I carry out work for but I would not seek accreditation if it wasn't needed. Health and Safety is paramount to any small business but I do feel that consideration should be given to experienced Electricians when assessing their applications and treating sole traders/small businesses/companies in proportion to their overall activities.

The process was much more involved this time than previous years and with Covid it took longer to get accredited that usual as I was working from home. The help given was good but there were a few times that an email attachment was mentioned that I did not receive so I felt a bit out on my own. It was a bit of a case of 'that's not what we want, try again', not 'this is not right but here is what you can do to make it right'. In the I got an a good set of instructions on email that helped a lot.

Process is generally ok but I think more notice for renewing needs to be given.

The initial online portal for the submission of information we found to be frustrating and continually prompts you for information that is not relevant, and if you do not populate the field you are unable to move on. Post submission the initial feedback and requirement for additional information was repetitive and despite responding several times to state the request was not relevant we spent some days batting back the same responses. Finally the assessment was passed to a highly professional advisor who was very clear and concise, and this allowed us to conclude the audit in a very short period. I would of rated this experience higher if it hadn't of been for the poor nature of the portal for uploading information and the first post submission screening, after that the SAFE professional assigned and service was excellent.

I would put 5* but i'm not happy when we submit our documents 1 month in advance and it isn't assessed until 1wk prior to expiry, reason being because we haven't paid extra for a quick turnaround. So if anything was picked up it would be a mad dash to get it through before expiry and then we wouldn't get paid.

The issue we have is that we can't submit our audit documentation any earlier than 30 days before our renewal date but we are then only told of the need for additional or updated evidence one day before our renewal. Since you have our details for a month, it seems poor to us that any additional information that is required is only flagged up to us at the last possible moment. This after making all efforts to have the evidence ready well in time.”

For a SME this system is too complicated and I think is aimed at larger business's.We need this accreditation because our clients stipulate this. Please make the questions more focused on SME's,we don't all have large HR departments etc to wade though pages of questions

very slow reevaluation process. perhaps this is down to covid 19 and lack of staff I am not sure because it does not say, all it does say is we can express it if you pay!

Whilst the audit covered the necessities, it asked for a lot more than in previous years and question was asked why some documents were not asked for previously if needed. Bit of a long drawn out process that took months to get through and needs to be made a lot quicker

There was confusion with what was required and when asking me for that information the person could have made it much quicker by being specific about what was required as I clearly did not understand. She asked for the same thing over and over using the same terminology, rather than using different words to explain what she needed. If i didn't understand the term the first time, saying it 5 more times wasn't going to help... Don't get stuck in using language/acronyms that is internal to your organisation or to that of experienced H&S professionals when talking to all customers as we are all different levels of knowledge and experience.

This year was a difficult process from your side - I did not receive my phone call after paying, which pushed my timings out. This lead to my renewal date being a week late, cost me loss in work. Also some of my work categories have been changed as I could not achieve them this year, even thought I have passed them for the last 4 years?

I was told the PQQ questionnaire was free, it isn't. Too long for information sent to be verified and then auditors asking for Covid 19 information even though it wasn't on the portal and having to wait even longer for accreditation.

Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on achieving your accreditation. I've looked at your customer notes and can see that one of the clients you work for has mandated that all contractors they work with must be SafePQQ verified to continue working with them. Please continue to liaise with our team directly regarding whether you would like to proceed with the SafePQQ product as mandated by the client or be refunded, and so accept our sincerest apologies for any confusion caused by this. Given the current pandemic, our team are asking that all contractors can supply additional information regarding their COVID-19 secure working practices. Please let us know if you require any additional support with producing this or ensuring your workplace is COVID-19 secure and we will be happy to help!

I believe that the SafeContractor brand adds value to our business, but I think that your additional H&S questions while Passporting SSIP across from another organisation is unnecessary and not in the true spirit of the SSIP.

Thank you for the review and congratulations on your accreditation! We're so pleased that being SafeContractor accredited is making a positive difference to your business. Please note that our SSIP passport questionnaire is significantly shorter than our full questionnaire. We ask additional questions to further verify the work activities undertaken by your business and promoting this ti our client base, which is why many organisations work with us to manage their supply chains and source contractors.

Time was wasted at the early stage as there was not a practical appreciation of our type of work. The assessor was OK once it was passed on.

the most annoying this is that you pay the renewal weeks / months in advance and then when you can submit the application you have to wait the full 20 days ( without parting with yet more money ) for it to be audited, it allows very little time to do this before the certificate expires. mine was audited on exactly the 20th working day. it would assist greatly if you opened the audit when you paid the renewal giving plenty of time. it appears to be an additional money maker by charging extra for a fast track service when this could easily be avoided.

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on your SafeContractor accreditation. Your payment renewal date does not necessarily align with your accreditation date as your accreditation renewal may change each year depending on how quickly your business completes the audit. Please be advised that our standard audit time taken from all documents being submitted it 4 weeks for an auditor to complete your h&s assessment. However, you can make the process faster next year by updating your documents throughout the year via our online portal, ready for when the questionnaire can be submitted 30 days before expiry.
