“Communication is great, got immediate response on my enquiries. I am not able to comment on the product as I haven't used it yet. I would love to see non human hair wigs and hair for braids.”

“I love my ponytail! Shipping was quick and it was well packaged. The hair is very full and high quality. I got the 18inch think ponytail and it not only matches my hair texture but it is a good length. The hair is virgin hair and hasn't been dyed so it looked more like colour 2 however when I emailed about this I got sent a lot of information about how I could dye the hair safely and with pictures of others who had done it too so that made me feel way more comfortable before I tried it myself. All in all, it has been a positive experience and I would recommend shopping at Ruka.”

“Hair is horrible, it’s premium blended hair nothing similar to 4c once you actually receive it despite all the videos the hair is super thin, soft like clown hair, the hair is trash and a waste of money”

“It would be good if you did the wig cap in different sizes, as the wig cap is too big for me. It would also be nice to have the option of purchasing this wig with grey highlights for the more mature women. I know there are grey wigs on the market but they are completely grey and you don't find them in the kinky curly texture. The quality of the hair is good. I have had the wig customize in terms of getting the wig trimmed to complement my face. I am now looking forward to wearing it.”

“Will be wearing the ponytail for my wedding, but gosh I didn't expect what I got. A lovely silk storage bag, love the branding and even the notes that came with it. Website is a pleasure, customer service is a pleasure as is actually receiving the item! Hair does shed a little bit, but I only intend to use it for the big day.”

“I emailed the team about prioritising my order as I needed desperately for an event and they very kindly escalated it for me. Out of the packet the hair is so soft and full which is great. Usually I’d go to Aliexpress or another cheap site and buy bad quality bundles which would last a couple months if lucky. I definitely see these bundles being a great investment and can’t wait to install. If I can update my review after wearing I will do so.”

“I won’t lie, I mainly bought from Ruka because I knew it was a black female owned company and I believe in supporting the community. HOWEVER I’m so so happy with what I received. Used for my graduation and looked great. Only reason for 4 not 5 is I paid for next day delivery and it didn’t arrive until normal shipping time.”

“I think the hair quality is great with quick delivery, my only issue is that the clips for the pony are not strong enough to hold the hair in place so I had to use a lot of hair pins to secure the pony in place.”

“So far I’ve bought 3 product and 1 service from ruka and they will be the last. 1) “Think silk” closure wig 24 inch - closure was over bleached but the texture is good (6/10). 2) “makin’ waves” closure under the impression the bundles would be stocked up and it’s been over 2 months since I was told this. Waste of money and was lied to. 5/10 3) “spring fling” closure wig - once again over bleach. When washed brown discharge and nasty stench and nape Clumps really badly. The texture dropped within the first wash. Highly doubt hair is virgin and not worth the price given supply is from China. 4/10. When I went to collect the hair they attempted to give me hair that was probably on display. Hairstylist service - spent 45 pound for her to do nothing special. I am happy that I could get hair last minute but they need to invest in better quality hair and good customer service.”

“I was initially very excited to try Rukahair. However, I have been severely disappointed. This is marketed as human hair however it clearly isn’t. As soon as I unwrapped the bundles and sprayed with water. The softness and bounce of the curls immediately disappeared and I was left with dry lifeless curls. The hair lasted two days before I was forced to take out the sew in as I was left with matted disgusting hair. I was hoping that I had finally found a brand with hair I can keep coming back to, unfortunately that was not the case and I will never buy from here again. I wasted my money on atrocious bundles. What a joke of a company. I will definitely NOT recommend to friends , in fact I will deter friends or anyone I know from ever supporting this sham of a company!”

For complete transparency, operating within the hair industry (which is largely unregulated) means that we are vulnerable still to faulty goods and poor supplier behaviour and this occasionally and unfortunately leads to some of our stock falling short of the quality benchmarks we would usually pride ourselves on.
