Poor communication, poor result. Redmans came recommended through a friend. They were hard to get hold of and I believe I spoke to 3 people to be allocated someone to work on my case. They put a letter together and submitted it, but the employer refused to engage and at the first push back, Redmans gave up and walked away. They never followed up on any of their own arguments or defended the position in general. So my conclusion is they either lied in the first place about the case having any merit (but where willing to take the money), or couldn’t be bothered to fight it through. Either way, I couldn’t recommend this service. Better to go through ACAS, which is a free service (and has to be used in any case in order to go to a tribunal) and in my case and got better results. The only bonus was that the person who handled my case was a nice person and polite.

I was recommended Redman's by a friend, however, would not recommend them myself. Unfortunately, I found that my lawyer did 'fight' or sufficiently negotiate for me in the way I would have expected for the fees that were charged. He failed to even negotiate increased legal expenses payable by the company, so I have been hit with a huge bill - with nothing/no positive impact to show for it. I got constantly reminded that 'in my situation' (4 months pregnant and being made redundant), that I probably didn't need the stress. This is true, but I hoped Redmands would alleviate that stress by negotiating on my behalf - but I found Redmans added stress, by being very delayed in their responses to me and my former employer in negotiations, and also not achieving any of the negotiation points I wanted. Upon Redman's advice, I submitted a grievance to my employer, which only served to aggravate them and prolong the already dubious redundancy process - and resulted in a poor outcome for me. I also had to ask my employer for extensions to sign, because of the poor response time from Redmans.

Redmans were referred to me by a friend to assist with an employment matter that was not only unexpected but also emotionally draining. The lawyer that was assigned to my case, was very unhelpful, had to be prompted mutiple times, did not follow my clear instructions and was overall disappointing. This was my first experience dealing with Solicitors and legal agreements and at no point was I made to feel reassured or understood.

The point was carried successfully in my case which I guess is what’s key, but it certainly wasn't pretty or pleasant at times. If one really wishes to work with this organisation and they’re even just a little impaired by a recent injury, illness, adverse event etc, I would suggest requesting special accommodations, otherwise, your assigned solicitor may take many opportunities to infer you're inept, even if you explain your situation afterward. Communication was frustrating and demeaning in general, but also left me wondering if, for example, I'd be charged extra for the additional minutes they spent condescendingly ‘splaining things away that I didn’t inquire about because they wish to apply the silliest interpretation of your questions (and you won’t get a word in edgewise to clarify). I might recommend Redmans to acquaintances but with the caveat of avoiding the individual who worked my case.

I was initially impressed by the service from Redmans, and told all the right things, however my opinion changed throughout the process. My contact was difficult to connect with and showed little empathy, however they did seem to make a good case. I was advised there was an opportunity to negotiate on my situation and so I took it. Unfortunately, the negotiation by Redmans left me in a worse position and I was disappointed. I was then left with the bill, on an incomplete case that was higher than the originally quoted amount. No win = big fee! I would expect an experienced business to be able to make a relatively acurate quote on an uncomplicated case to allow clients to make the right decisions when the case is brought to them. When I called to discuss this, no one called me back.

Didn't follow up on the signing of my second settlement agreement which meant a delay of a month in me getting paid out. Not impressed

Used them to handle my redundancy. It was OK. The redundancy agreement was very straight forward so I would say everything was acceptable. Cannot comment on how they would have handled a more complex scenario.
