“The initial zip file with the recovered data did not seem to have data I would of really liked, however there was data that was essential to my business. When I received the Matrox drive with the recovered data I was absolutely delighted to find the vast majority of my files in tack. Yes I'm happy with the price and the actual turn around time was just right for me.”

Many thanks for the review of the team John In this particular case PCWorld had already said the drive was mechanically failed and had offered to send it away. Gareth was able to give an accurate price for the recovery based on your description and on assessment in the lab it was confirmed the drive had suffered a head crash and had a severe scratch in the Firmware Zone, Lead engineer Lucio was able to stabilise the drive and effect a recover contents of almost 1.5 Billion sectors with only 500 being unreadable. The data was fully recovered and processed within the service level and pricing given at the outset. All the team involved at R3 take pride in giving the best quality Data Recovery Hospital service, be it an Accident & Emergency or a standard recuperation of data. “They were very fast and helpful- and open late hours. It is an expensive service but it's worth the recovery. They also take insurance which helps with the cost. They had to do something crazy because the HD dropped and pieces went out of place, but they have the experts to do all the work.”

“Like many people I feel like I live my life on my computer. I'm a creator with hundreds of files of writing on my drive, as well as the large amounts of media that we all accrue. When your drive fails at the eleventh hour in transferring it from an old and failing computer to a new one, it can seem like all is lost. “Throughout the whole process R3 were professional and made me feel assured that they would do all they could to recover my data. Your SanDisk Extreme Pro was successfully recovered by R3 at the price quoted at the outset. Even though our competitor quoted a cheap data recovery price of £97 or £99 in reality the actual price asked is 3 times what we quote at the outset, in this case we quoted £149+vat as of mid 2016. The lab is geared for handling hundreds of cases every month and capable of handling influxes of work dues to fire, flood or earthquakes ! Hi Paul Your unbranded 8GB stick had a number of faults common to failed flash memory which fail. In reality NAND chips should be regarded as temporary data transfer devices rather than places to backup data to. That said we were able to complete the recovery 100% and just 105.4MB of Microsoft Documents sent by secure download. The price quoted at the outset can seem expensive relative to the few pound or even freebie memory stick value, but the time and resources of our engineering capabilities and safe / secure service is cost effective. Hi Sam I am sorry we could not help in your case, there were two factors, failed heads and some platter damage and worse a relatively rare version of a Western Digital WD20EARX-00MMMB0 Although we have dozens of similar models in stock, the correct revision could only be found on eBay at the time it is was needed and the sellers had also realised it was a low production run version which will take time to come into the data recovery parts system. Our Electronics specialists correctly matched and reprogrammed a donor PCB with information from your PCB to enable proper communication with the heads. “I run a small IT support company in London and I have had several clients who have needed professional data recovery. When I first approached R3 data recovery I had a portable hard drive that wouldn’t start up. I called up and spoke with Andy, who was extremely helpful. He went through all options and possible outcomes with me. He then arranged a courier to pick up the hard drive.
