“The staff at Pure Cremation were superb and so understanding. My father went from being 100% coherent to ten minutes later, he stopped breathing and died. When I called, the staff were great and gave me plenty of time to get myself together as I kept breaking down when I told them what had happened. The process was so easy and straight forward and I would highly recommend Pure Cremation to anyone. Keith Pepper”

“My mother pass and we had not made any arrangments. She passed at 10.30 pm and I contacted PC about an hour later. They arrived about 3 am but there was a decent distance to cover and we were happy with the ETA. I have to say I was very impressed with the way they dealt with everything on the night and it was very calm and respectful service they provided. During what is a difficult time they did everything we needed without fuss. I would have liked a little more follow up contact. I didn't hear from them regarding the actual cremation and I had to call up. I also had to call regarding the ashes delivery which was delayed but personally, this did not concern me.”

“I found Pure Cremation very kind and caring and always referred to my brother using his Christian name throughout and using committal in place of cremation these seemingly small things mean such a lot to relatives and I am confident he was treated in the dignified manner my wonderful brother deserved. My brothers ashes were returned to us exactly as we requested. Thankyou so much to you all for making a very difficult time so much easier for all his family.”

“From the very first call every member of the team treated me with nothing but total respect and compassion. Losing my husband has been the hardest time of my life which was made more bearable knowing he was looked after as well as one of their own family members from the moment they collected him until he was returned home. “A good precise brochure outlining what would hapoen and the decisions to be made, excellent telephone service at the point of registering and when the death occurred received a very helpful telephone conversation. The cremation was carried out as per our requests and the ashes received within the timescale and delivered with professional courtesy. This type of service was requested by my Mother in Law, we were so impressed, my Wife and I will shortly be taking out a plan for ourselves.”

“The staff were all very friendly and helpful and provided all the help that was needed at this time. When the ashes were brought back to us the person delivering them was able to give support with his friendly and pleasant manner”

“The whole process up to the return of my Dad’s ashes was very good.. however how I was treated following his cremation and the arrangement to get him back to me was very distressing. My husband and I took a short holiday following Dad’s cremation and the re- homing of his pets. During said holiday I was contacted (on my mobile) by pure cremation to confirm delivery of his ashes, the next day, I had not been contacted prior to this call, other than the notification that his cremation had taken place. I explained I was out of the country and although I would be home the next day, it would be early evening, and could we reschedule as I’d not been previously notified, this was agreed. I was in the airport, awaiting return flight when I was contacted by Emma, who informed me that she would be delivering Dad’s ashes within the hour.. I explained what I’d already told Pure cremation the day before. I asked, as she informed me that Dad would go back with her and it may be a while before he was returned, I asked if I could contact her later in the day to arrange meeting as our flight was imminent. She then went on to tell me how her day was arranged, how many deliveries she had and whether I could just arrange for a neighbour to take possession! I declined and told her I would be in touch later that day… I did contact her again but she was unable to arrange to meet as she was now moving on to Carlisle. She told me the office would be in touch to rearrange. I was left with the awful feeling that I had let Dad down as I couldn’t be home when she wanted. I have made a formal complaint. I am disappointed for my Dad, as this service was his idea, as he didn’t want any fuss, I feel that he would have been angry at how he was treated. The moral of this is that you should NEVER rely on leaving an answer phone message for something so important.”

“Deceased collected but needed post mortem. Delayed communication between Pure Cremation and hospital resulted in later cremation but ashes returned quickly. Ceramic disc broken but immaterial.”

Thank you for your comments, Mr Medlam, which have been noted. While a post mortem after we have brought someone into care is unusual our staff should be able to offer the same care and timely service - we are addressing this. I hope that the contact from Harriet and the subsequent close oversight by Rebecca were helpful in moving things forward and in reassuring you. The ceramic identity discs that we place on the coffin prior to cremation occasionally fracture, but as they represent tangible proof of the identity of the ashes we still include it within the container for the ultimate reassurance that your loved one has returned safely home. “After loosing my mum we opted for a pure cremation, so glad we did as the customer service was excellent . Each staff member I spoke to was kind and showed empathy, every step of the way, including the lady who brought mums ashes home”
