“Really unhappy with the whopping 3.5 inch threshold we have to step over, especially because I asked the installer about low thresholds at our very first meeting. The pictures in the brochure all showed hardly any threshold, with inside and outside being the same level, but the installer told me they were trying to ‘sell you the dream’ and what he recommended was a 'weathered threshold’ to prevent driving rain coming in. What he didn’t tell me was that you can still get a low threshold with this product but you have to get your builder to remove a layer of brick, creating a recess in your floor in which the bifolds sit, sinking the threshold into the floor. I only figured this out many weeks later, after the order was placed, because neither the Origin brochure or website tell you this! The website did have some diagrams in which the same effect was achieved by essentially raising the surrounding floor with screed, which didn’t seem viable unless you want to raise the entire downstairs floor including other rooms. I was really confused as to how low thresholds didn’t appear to be practical and yet I was seeing so many pictures of them on the internet. I havn’t tripped over the 3.5 inch threshold yet, but that’s partly because I’m so aware it’s there - it annoys me that much. Someone will trip on it one day, but it’s the aesthetics that bother me as much as having to step over it. Considering we’ve spent 6k on this product, I don’t think enough information was available and I feel let down by Origin and the installer.”

“I was drawn to Origin by seeing their units at building exhibitions and then at a local (ish) showroom. They appeared to be of good quality and the fitters (individual and company) spoke highly of them against the competition, (some of which was more costly than Origin). The installers, Eden Windows (Gillinham, Kent) have been helpful and good to deal with. Origin have followed up my initial enquiry with good customer relations and have provided all and any information that I requested - early days but so far a very good job.”

“Product was excellent. Customer service was also excellent as the build was not straight forward and they kept us informed of the issues and their resolutions to them. The Installation team were also first class and did everything to a great standard.”

“The doors were not able to close 24 hrs after installation due to an 'expansion' issue, apparently no easy fix, you are working on the problem? also doors scratched easily within 2 days of install, not convinced this is a quality product, will definitely not be recommending to anyone I know.”

“very nice frames but first configuration sent wrong so had to wait two weeks for new doors. vents missing too and black handles ordered so still waiting for both which is not ideal”

“The bifold lever lock key was snapped off during or shortly after installation due to a design fault whereby if you leave the key in when you open the key is snapped. A 3-fold door lever lock was broken shortly after it was installed and has been many months in getting repaired. There was a small dent in the bifold doors. Recommend your doors- what do you think?”

“Installation a disaster. Installed bifold doors in to oak frame in living room. Fitters had never done an oak frame install before. They were asked to put the doors in to meet external cover boards to ensure a weather tight seal. However they did not check frame position where they were asked to put the frame and the jamb and head screws have missed the structural oak posts and beams completely. Nice product but appalling installation.”

“Smart looking yet clearly very sturdy products that do the job required very well . Installed on site by a highly experienced team. My sole complaint,which is a serious one ,is the delay :we feel our project slipped 6 weeks .The glass supplier was blamed ,as was Christmas although this event happens every year ; while the glass supplier may have been at fault ,it was very disappointing .”

“The installers arrived when stated on the day. They were efficient, clean, friendly and very helpful. When finished the work area was clean and tidy with no mess left behind. The use of the door was explained in a clear manner and I was shown how it operated. The whole installion was very clean and tidy and I would recommend Orion as the installers of your product to anyone asking about it.”

“Beautiful addition to my downstairs extension. They transferred the house bringing the small but lovely garden into its full glory. I spend hours relaxing and admiring my garden, which before was barely visible from the small patio door. The house has such an light and airy feel to it now. Worth every penny!”
