I'm really disappointed with the services I've received, I've paid 330 pounds for a case review which included a documents review,1 hour consultation, advice on what I can do about my situation. What I've received is less than 35 minutes call in which I describe my documents and a promise for a call on Monday that was never delivered...when I contacted the Monaco Solicitors on Tuesday they promise to call back which never happen, so I complained on Wednesday and ask for a full refund, and then they ring me and sent me an email that offers me less than 25 percent of what I paid out of,,goodwill gesture'' towards me which I really found insulting as they didn't deliver the services that I've expected. I will never again use the services of this company.

I would not recommend Monaco Solicitors for handling your case, as a former client I was really disappointed with them for the following 3 reasons: Solicitor no.1 emailed an invoice to me on 2nd of October 2020 & I paid it on the 27th. However, the office administrator and solicitor no.2 both chased me in May 2021 seeking payment for that same invoice. When I pointed out that I had already paid it within the specified time period I received no explanation or apology at all from them. They were very uncoordinated and shambolic. This is in stark contrast to when I raised a level 2 complaint with them, according to Monaco's own internal rules they should respond to any complaint within 28 days. However it was after that time when I received a response to my complaint, when I challenged them they had to acknowledge that the response I received from senior employment solicitor no.3 (who reviewed the complaint) was indeed late but they gave no valid explanation. It is pretty poor form that they don't even abide by their own complaints policy but have no such delays chasing clients for invoices that they have already paid! (I have retained emails to verify all the above) The complaint I raised with them concerned an issue with solicitor no.1 who was looking after my case. She took credit for the increase in my redundancy package when in fact it was my ex-employers HR department that had incorrectly calculated the amount, I was the one who brought it to her attention who then informed HR. As a result of that she took credit and charged me a percentage based upon an agreement i.e. no foal no fee. So she ended up receiving a fee from my ex employer in addition to charging me a fee as well, this firm seem more interested in playing both sides to generate as much revenue for themselves at the client's expense. All of the above has left me with no choice but to refer the matter to both the Legal Ombudsman and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. I will update this review again when I get a response from both the aforementioned parties.

Completed their form 19th August. Supposed to have a call back within a day. No word so resubmitted 27th August. No contact. Rang up and told someone would call me back within an hour. No call back. Rang again and left answerphone message. No call back. Rang again and after being told the case had been assigned to Izzy the previous Weds and she was now out of the office asked for all my info to be deleted. Call terminated. Rang again and asked for all my info to be deleted off all Monaco's systems and to receive confirmation in writing of this. Hoping to receive this confirmation today.

Unfortunately I found myself needing an employment solicitor. I found Monaco Solicitors website very professional and seemed to have multiple good reviews. The no win no fee seemed like a fool proof option. Unfortunately my experience hasn't been great. My solicitor seemed rushed and aloof. I have had to chase her on multiple occasions. I got the impression she had taken on too many cases and seemed stressed and distracted when we spoke. Presumably because of her busy work load (which she made multiple reference too) she made assumptions, unfortunately incorrectly, paper work I submitted wasn't read properly and mistakes were made. This has lead to frustrations on both sides. Fees being requested are a lot more than expected, an amount that I can not afford to pay. Over all the experience has caused many more nights of stress and anxiety to an already stressful situation.

I would not recommend Monaco Solicitors for handling your case. First of all, they have doubled the price they first indicated when starting the process without actually doing any additional work for it, and when asked about it they completely ignored it and just continued the process as if nothing happened. Secondly, and most importantly, they don't care about your case. They will take the money and then take A WEEK to respond to each query and do the actual work, making it either impossible to bring your claim to the tribunal in time, or potentially very stressful in trying to make it last minute. Please save your money, hopes and stress of going through their process. They don't care to consult you, and they won't move a finger to help you in a timely manner.

It states they do a free consultation. I submitted my case and got told to pay hundreds of pounds. Very misleading information and a complete waste of time.

I hired Hardeep Kular to do a contract review. Her insight was super basic and did not give me anything beyond what I was able to assess myself. She did not check to see if she was helpful and only chased for the invoice to be paid a day after delivering the service. I ended up hiring another solicitor who was much more insightful and helpful. I wouldn't waste money here again.

Quoted a price and then uplifted it to provide a case review. Case review never materialised. Sever delays in dealing with matter and could not add value to the matter

initially hopeful of good service as receptionist took 45 minutes to detail the case in a form driven manner but the response came without an assessment of whether to take forward the case but simply demanding upfront fee! disgraceful ambulance chasers clearly

Really disappointed with this firm. I felt that I had a very strong case for a sham redundancy. Garvey assured me that I didn't. I contacted a fee paying solicitor and within the space of days I was offered a substantial settlement.

I contacted you a couple of weeks ago to help with a settlement agreement. My company had agreed to consider it. I was assigned Hardeep Kaur. I answered all the questions asked to the best of my ability. I explained that I was still suffering from mental health issues. I did not understand some of the legal terms used and asked for clarification. I then received an e mail treating me like some 5 year old school kid. I have told Hardeep I don’t want to proceed with her. The experience has left me more anxious than I was before I contacted you.

Having read previous reviews about how good and fast they were, I decided to submit my details regarding redundcancy on 8th October and have yet to hear anything from them (15th October) - very disappointed.

Absolute false advertisement. Their now win no fee option is on the paper only and what they do they simply contact you to sell you legal advised charged at £175+VAT or so. I have a very solid case which is confirmed with my home insurance solicitor as they assessed it and will represent me in Employment Tribunal (requirement is that they need to belive that chances to win my case must be 51%). The only reason is I contacted Monaco Solicitors is that my home insurance solicitors can only step in after finishing my redundancy eppeal stage and I was hoping to see if MS could step in earlier and perhaps negotiate a settlement for me instead of waiting for Tribunal. But as quite a few reviewers said it seems that no fee service is marketing trick only to obtain details of potential customer who would pay for their services.

We are sorry to hear that our offer of an hour’s consultation was not of interest to you. We cannot offer a no win no fee arrangement in all cases and do not suggest otherwise. We are committed to offering potential clients a range of affordable options that are most suited to their situation. We felt that you would have benefited from an hour’s consultation. During this call we would have advised you on the merits of your case, explained how to conduct a without prejudice discussion with your employer and discussed possible next steps including issuing Tribunal proceedings. It sounds like you are well-placed with regards to your insurer and future legal representation in the Tribunal process and hope that you are able to secure the outcome you seek. shocking willing to help after i made a settlement and tried to sell me a self-help book instead

Contacted them with details of a employment law case, since they offer a free initial consultation. Another firm's initial consultation said I had a good case. No-one called me back from Monaco for two days, even though I called three times, and re-sent the online form. Eventually a sales team member called me back and said the initial consultation would cost £175 + VAT for half an hour. Avoid at all costs.

I watched video then filled out the form providing loads of information. Automated Email from monaco landed in my spam. It was cleary asvertisement of self-help book. Never received any further email from a human. I have hectic case and still staying in decisions limbo.

Dear Sebastian Our team of lawyers review all enquiries - regrettably we are not in a position to offer a consultation to every request. We, however, do wish to help as many people as possible which is why we offer the largest free online employment law resources of any law firm in the UK on our website. The book you mention, the “Resignation Revolution: how to negotiate an exit like a pro” is a great resource with plenty of top tips to navigate an employment dispute and tribunal proceedings. All the very best and hope that you are able to get matters resolved satisfactorily. Kind regards Alex Monaco
If you, like me, are looking for the first time in your life for a lawyer to support you with an unpleasant work situation, please do yourself a favour and I strongly recommend do not choose this one! I have chosen this lawyer simply by reading and trusting the reviews on their website – and all I can say is that was the wrong decision. I was very disappointed by the service received by the lawyer I was allocated to Nicola Welchman. From the first correspondence that was to be drafted by my lawyer, there was a delay and promises that were undelivered. I tried to contact her by phone, email but still no reply and I simply could not reach her. In such a stressful situation I was going through in my work life, there was a clear lack of support from my lawyer and all I experience was added stress. She was being frustrated at the questions I ask which I found unprofessional. Several times throughout the process, I had to even involve the manager as I was getting a service that was not worth the money I spent. In a nutshell, having chosen this lawyer was the worst decision I made and the only feeling I got once the case was closed is that it’s all about the money and nothing about the service rendered to the customer. I am taking the time to write this review as I would not wish for anyone to go through what I did. Choosing a lawyer for the first time can be a daunting prospect but choosing a wrong one can make it the worst experience ever. Choose wisely!

It is disappointing to receive this review and we remain sorry that you were unhappy with our service. Your concerns were fully investigated through our complaints procedure and were found to be unjustified. Nicola takes considerable pride in supporting her clients and, as the many reviews, attest client speaks very highly of her - notably her prompt, efficient service and her understanding and pragmatic advice. It is appreciated that the dispute with your employer had a significant and damaging impact and we remain unclear how Nicola could have supported you more over the 8 months of our instruction. We wish you all the best.
I have a strong case and they did not want to hear about it just ask for £300 plus vat up front for 40 minuets. Think they doit to most of there clients. Not all what it looks like

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry that you were disappointed by the fixed fee advice offer that we made. Many of our clients find this fixed fee service very useful as they gain a great deal of insight about tactics, case value and next steps. It is appreciated that this wasn’t for you, if you would like to give us another try - do drop me a line directly and we will arrange a consultation call. Kind regards Alex Monaco
First of all, there website is very informative and reassuring - 5 stars for that. However, after that - well, how would you rate a company that offers to respond to an online query within an hour (which means an automated email and nothing else) and then still no response after two phone calls? ACAS recommends giving an employee 10 calendar days to respond to a settlement offer. I finally received an email from Monaco just before 6pm 11 days after the meeting I had asked them to support me with. Don't judge them by their website, but on their actions.

We are sorry that we disappointed on this occasion. Our aim is to offer a quick response to all online enquiries and subject to the availability of our specialist lawyers, arrange for a consultation. We realise that this did not happen on this occasion and for reasons that we are investigating, there was a significant delay in arranging for a solicitor to call. We have reflected on this and have immediately put in place measures to ensure that enquiries do not fall between the cracks in the future. Regrettably, we cannot assist everyone who makes contact with the firm as we receive a large volume of enquiries. We do, however, try to assist as many people as we can and that is why we offer the largest free online employment law resources of any law firm in the UK. We are however pleased that our detailed and informative website delivered and hope that it can be a resource that you can use should the need arise in the future. All the very best Alex Monaco.
