Sent my case over, asking for a free consultation, as this should be a very straight forward case, well documented on my side.
Got referred via standard email template to their sub brand LEX Lawyer which looks a bit funny tbh (GBP 125 for 0.5h consultation)...for 2nd class cases?

I guess Alex got a bit irritated about my current employer as it might be notoriously known.

Again, solid case on my side, well documented but a non thanks from Alex.
No problem, you make good content on Youtube, but very much a let down that you are this selective.
Will try on my own for the time being.
Hi there, we are sorry you feel this way. We do take on as many cases as possible. As you can imagine, with over 1 million visits to our websites, we can't take on every case. Your employer has nothing to do with it - we take cases against all employers. Just because a case is well documented it doesn't mean it's a legally viable case. Wishing you the best of luck with resolving it on your own.
I paid £300+vat for review of content details of claim for my ET1. The solicitor checked it and made changes for review. The changes she made were incorrect and wrong. It was as if she had not read my case properly at all. If I had included these mistakes it would have lifted weight from the details of my claim. Instead of accepting the solicitors errors, I had to spend the next 48hrs in a legal library amending their errors. When i asked the solicitor for a call as i did not understand some of her content ( i hadn't used up the charged time i had paid for) she was unavailable.
I've paid the first invoice which I was happy with but I queried the second as the solicitor had spent little time, the document had been amended (incorrectly) and she was unavailable for further calls. She refused to listen and just demanded the payment. All about the money sadly:(
My advice is to think very carefully before using Monaco. Seems like they are just focused on making easy money at a price which may cost you your claim. I would have been better spending my £720 with a legal practise that does not operate a pay and go, self employed service :(
"We are sorry that you feel this way. However, having reviewed the matter, we must disagree with your comments. You say that our edits 'lifted weight from your claim' but sometimes we have to help clients not to fall into the trap of 'kitchen sinking' - including weaker points in a an ET1, which detract from the strong points. We do stand by our work in this case as being 100% legally correct and carefully considered."
Contacted them with details of a employment law case, since they offer a free initial consultation. Another firm's initial consultation said I had a good case. No-one called me back from Monaco for two days, even though I called three times, and re-sent the online form. Eventually a sales team member called me back and said the initial consultation would cost £175 + VAT for half an hour.

Avoid at all costs.
I watched video then filled out the form providing loads of information. Automated Email from monaco landed in my spam. It was cleary asvertisement of self-help book. Never received any further email from a human. I have hectic case and still staying in decisions limbo.
Dear Sebastian

Our team of lawyers review all enquiries - regrettably we are not in a position to offer a consultation to every request.

We, however, do wish to help as many people as possible which is why we offer the largest free online employment law resources of any law firm in the UK on our website.

The book you mention, the “Resignation Revolution: how to negotiate an exit like a pro” is a great resource with plenty of top tips to navigate an employment dispute and tribunal proceedings.

All the very best and hope that you are able to get matters resolved satisfactorily.

Kind regards

Alex Monaco
First of all, there website is very informative and reassuring - 5 stars for that. However, after that - well, how would you rate a company that offers to respond to an online query within an hour (which means an automated email and nothing else) and then still no response after two phone calls?

ACAS recommends giving an employee 10 calendar days to respond to a settlement offer. I finally received an email from Monaco just before 6pm 11 days after the meeting I had asked them to support me with.

Don't judge them by their website, but on their actions.
We are sorry that we disappointed on this occasion.

Our aim is to offer a quick response to all online enquiries and subject to the availability of our specialist lawyers, arrange for a consultation.

We realise that this did not happen on this occasion and for reasons that we are investigating, there was a significant delay in arranging for a solicitor to call. We have reflected on this and have immediately put in place measures to ensure that enquiries do not fall between the cracks in the future.

Regrettably, we cannot assist everyone who makes contact with the firm as we receive a large volume of enquiries. We do, however, try to assist as many people as we can and that is why we offer the largest free online employment law resources of any law firm in the UK.

We are however pleased that our detailed and informative website delivered and hope that it can be a resource that you can use should the need arise in the future.

All the very best

Alex Monaco.
I contacted you a couple of weeks ago to help with a settlement agreement. My company had agreed to consider it. I was assigned Hardeep Kaur. I answered all the questions asked to the best of my ability. I explained that I was still suffering from mental health issues. I did not understand some of the legal terms used and asked for clarification. I then received an e mail treating me like some 5 year old school kid. I have told Hardeep I don’t want to proceed with her. The experience has left me more anxious than I was before I contacted you.
I am so pleased I used Monaco Solicitors. Nicola was great to deal with from the start I was left with confidence that she would get me the best deal and she definately has. Together we increased a exgratia payment by an astonishing factor of 1.5.

Then above and beyond Nicola made sure my fees were tax efficient.

I should end it here but I will rant on a bit more with a hope it helps you with your decision at this stressful moment.

I didn't know Monaco solicitors before this encounter so I did call around to four other companies before selecting Monaco and I asked the same questions 1) is the offer fair 2) should I ask for more. The answers I got elsewhere were 1) Yes 2) our hourly rate is xxx if you want to ask for more from your employer you will be charged between 6 hours and 10 hours depending on the work requested. They then asked my details so they could run "conflict of interest" check. At the end of my research it just felt that the competitors were only interested in a basic fee and that our interests were not aligned.

So I activated Nicola at Monaco and the fee charged was appropriate to the end result and as it turned out 1) the offer wasn't fair 2) yes I should ask for more.

If you got this far thanks for reading I hope your encounter with Monaco Solicitors is as good as mine was. wishing you all the best.
Really disappointed with this firm.

I felt that I had a very strong case for a sham redundancy. Garvey assured me that I didn't. I contacted a fee paying solicitor and within the space of days I was offered a substantial settlement.
Dippalli was brilliant. She represented me in an unprecedented situation in my career, and she obtained a great settlement for me and helped keep me sane throughout the ordeal, which was the first horrible work situation I've ever had. I probably wouldn't have got as good a deal if it wasn't for Dippalli's great strategy and intuition in handling matters like this. For example, I was ready to settle at a lower amount and Dippalli's instinct and strategy for the next step meant that I obtained a surpising 25% increase. She was also incredibly responsive and always happy to go the extra mile to answer any questions I might have during this stressful time. I'll be forever grateful, and this has definitely given me a comfortable financial support in the interim during the uncertainty to the economy that the Covid-19 pandemic has created. I highly recommend her if you are unfortunately going through an unprecedented ordeal at work right now.
Dippalli was fast, flexible and to-the-point to review my settlement agreement with a major technology company. I wanted to make some edits and he was helpful to guide my company in the right direction in the drafting. I recommending for similar situations. Carlos
If you, like me, are looking for the first time in your life for a lawyer to support you with an unpleasant work situation, please do yourself a favour and I strongly recommend do not choose this one! I have chosen this lawyer simply by reading and trusting the reviews on their website – and all I can say is that was the wrong decision. I was very disappointed by the service received by the lawyer I was allocated to Nicola Welchman. From the first correspondence that was to be drafted by my lawyer, there was a delay and promises that were undelivered. I tried to contact her by phone, email but still no reply and I simply could not reach her. In such a stressful situation I was going through in my work life, there was a clear lack of support from my lawyer and all I experience was added stress. She was being frustrated at the questions I ask which I found unprofessional. Several times throughout the process, I had to even involve the manager as I was getting a service that was not worth the money I spent. In a nutshell, having chosen this lawyer was the worst decision I made and the only feeling I got once the case was closed is that it’s all about the money and nothing about the service rendered to the customer. I am taking the time to write this review as I would not wish for anyone to go through what I did. Choosing a lawyer for the first time can be a daunting prospect but choosing a wrong one can make it the worst experience ever. Choose wisely!
It is disappointing to receive this review and we remain sorry that you were unhappy with our service. Your concerns were fully investigated through our complaints procedure and were found to be unjustified.

Nicola takes considerable pride in supporting her clients and, as the many reviews, attest client speaks very highly of her - notably her prompt, efficient service and her understanding and pragmatic advice.

It is appreciated that the dispute with your employer had a significant and damaging impact and we remain unclear how Nicola could have supported you more over the 8 months of our instruction. We wish you all the best.
Garvey Hanchard took time to consider a problem that a member of my family had regarding workplace bullying arising out of a whistle blowing incident. Garvey went above and beyond listening to and considering the information that we provided him with and made suggestions about the best way forward, and what was in my relatives interest.

Prior to speaking to Garvey, I was extremely mistrustful of solicitors. I was really surprised by his approach and my faith has been restored! Based on our experience with Monaco Solicitors, I’d say that they are an ‘ethical’ organisation and a firm that you can trust. In my opinion, when you’re ringing around for help, make Monaco Solicitors your first choice.
I will be forever grateful to Nicola Welchmann. I don't know how I would have got through the past few months without her.

Nicola gave me solid advice from the start of what was an extremely difficult case. My employer loaded the deck against me in an extremely unfair way, tabling a series of highly emotive untrue allegations and initiating a disciplinary process that seemed to be unbelievably one-sided, as they knew that they had no reason to move against me on performance grounds.

The employment relationship was clearly beyond repair, but Nicola set out a solid strategy from the off to enable us to achieve our objective of obtaining a good settlement - including defending some crucial financial elements - and a clean reference. Nothing was too much trouble for Nicola, including coming back to work early after Christmas when my employer waited until after the Christmas shutdown to instigate disciplinary proceedings in an attempt to force me into a corner.
I have a strong case and they did not want to hear about it just ask for £300 plus vat up front for 40 minuets. Think they doit to most of there clients. Not all what it looks like
Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry that you were disappointed by the fixed fee advice offer that we made. Many of our clients find this fixed fee service very useful as they gain a great deal of insight about tactics, case value and next steps.

It is appreciated that this wasn’t for you, if you would like to give us another try - do drop me a line directly and we will arrange a consultation call.

Kind regards

Alex Monaco
Nicola Welchman from Monaco Solicitors assisted with my case. Patient, very quick in responding, and provided excellent, pragmatic advice. Working with Nicola made me feel supported and informed when making decisions. I can't recommend enough.
I was extremely pleased with the advice and level of professional service provided by Hardeep Kular as part of the negotiation of my Settlement Agreement. Hardeep was very professional and friendly and provided realistic advice on the best course of action in a timely manner.
initially hopeful of good service as receptionist took 45 minutes to detail the case in a form driven manner but the response came without an assessment of whether to take forward the case but simply demanding upfront fee! disgraceful ambulance chasers clearly
I was assigned Chris Hogg to deal with my case. It was fairly straight forwards and he dealt with it promptly and professionally from day one. He was very quick to respond and he made sure that I was updated along the way with everything. He explained everything to me clearly and made sure I was happy with everything and none of the process was stressful for me in the slightest. I enquired with another solicitors too about handling this and they have only just got back to me even though Chris has already resolved my case! 100% recommend Monaco Solicitors and Chris to anyone. Thank you!
I contacted Monaco Solicitors after being made redundant and following a meeting with my Trade Union mentioning it would be a complicated case. I only have wonderful things to say about Monaco solicitors and in particular Hardeep that I dealt with from the beginning. Hardeep has been most helpful and professional throughout the entire process.

Hardeep also invested a lot of her personal time to ensure that legal negotiations and processes moved forward in a timely manner. It took less than two months to reach a positive outcome and this would have not been achievable without Monaco Solicitors and Hardeep. I was always updated about any conversations that occurred with my previous employer and Hardeep always checked that I was happy with the proposal and next steps. Hardeep is an expert in an employment law and think out-of-the box to ensure that all legal angles have been explored. She is also a wonderful and thoughtful human being and put all her knowledge and energy to guarantee the best results for her client.

I would recommend anyone in need of law employment advice to work with Monaco solicitors. I was also delighted and nicely surprised to hear that Monaco solicitors never do any legal work for corporate customers. They are therefore 100% committed in defending your interests and able to seek the best possible outcome for you. Monaco solicitors bases its vision in defending the employees (they also offer no win/no fee) and do not compromise on their moral and human values as they never take on any legal work on behalf of employers. I will definitely use them again for any employment related matter.
