“Sent my case over, asking for a free consultation, as this should be a very straight forward case, well documented on my side. Got referred via standard email template to their sub brand LEX Lawyer which looks a bit funny tbh (GBP 125 for 0.5h consultation)...for 2nd class cases? I guess Alex got a bit irritated about my current employer as it might be notoriously known. Again, solid case on my side, well documented but a non thanks from Alex. No problem, you make good content on Youtube, but very much a let down that you are this selective. Will try on my own for the time being.”

Hi there, we are sorry you feel this way. We do take on as many cases as possible. As you can imagine, with over 1 million visits to our websites, we can't take on every case. Your employer has nothing to do with it - we take cases against all employers. Just because a case is well documented it doesn't mean it's a legally viable case. “Contacted them with details of a employment law case, since they offer a free initial consultation. Another firm's initial consultation said I had a good case. No-one called me back from Monaco for two days, even though I called three times, and re-sent the online form. Eventually a sales team member called me back and said the initial consultation would cost £175 + VAT for half an hour. Avoid at all costs.”

“I paid £300+vat for review of content details of claim for my ET1. The solicitor checked it and made changes for review. The changes she made were incorrect and wrong. It was as if she had not read my case properly at all. If I had included these mistakes it would have lifted weight from the details of my claim. Instead of accepting the solicitors errors, I had to spend the next 48hrs in a legal library amending their errors. When i asked the solicitor for a call as i did not understand some of her content ( i hadn't used up the charged time i had paid for) she was unavailable. I've paid the first invoice which I was happy with but I queried the second as the solicitor had spent little time, the document had been amended (incorrectly) and she was unavailable for further calls. She refused to listen and just demanded the payment. All about the money sadly:( My advice is to think very carefully before using Monaco. Seems like they are just focused on making easy money at a price which may cost you your claim. I would have been better spending my £720 with a legal practise that does not operate a pay and go, self employed service :(”

You say that our edits 'lifted weight from your claim' but sometimes we have to help clients not to fall into the trap of 'kitchen sinking' - including weaker points in a an ET1, which detract from the strong points. We do stand by our work in this case as being 100% legally correct and carefully considered."

“Took your company Neely 2 month after all information provided and requested by your company, despite been advised that my case was been review and you finally after once again insisting for update you’ve decided no longer my case was suitable”

“I'm really disappointed with the services I've received, I've paid 330 pounds for a case review which included a documents review,1 hour consultation, advice on what I can do about my situation. What I've received is less than 35 minutes call in which I describe my documents and a promise for a call on Monday that was never delivered...when I contacted the Monaco Solicitors on Tuesday they promise to call back which never happen, so I complained on Wednesday and ask for a full refund, and then they ring me and sent me an email that offers me less than 25 percent of what I paid out of,,goodwill gesture'' towards me which I really found insulting as they didn't deliver the services that I've expected. I will never again use the services of this company.”

“I watched video then filled out the form providing loads of information. Automated Email from monaco landed in my spam. It was cleary asvertisement of self-help book. Never received any further email from a human. I have hectic case and still staying in decisions limbo.”

“First of all, there website is very informative and reassuring - 5 stars for that. However, after that - well, how would you rate a company that offers to respond to an online query within an hour (which means an automated email and nothing else) and then still no response after two phone calls? ACAS recommends giving an employee 10 calendar days to respond to a settlement offer. I finally received an email from Monaco just before 6pm 11 days after the meeting I had asked them to support me with. Don't judge them by their website, but on their actions.”

“Unfortunately I found myself needing an employment solicitor. I found Monaco Solicitors website very professional and seemed to have multiple good reviews. The no win no fee seemed like a fool proof option. Unfortunately my experience hasn't been great. My solicitor seemed rushed and aloof. I have had to chase her on multiple occasions. I got the impression she had taken on too many cases and seemed stressed and distracted when we spoke. Presumably because of her busy work load (which she made multiple reference too) she made assumptions, unfortunately incorrectly, paper work I submitted wasn't read properly and mistakes were made. This has lead to frustrations on both sides. Fees being requested are a lot more than expected, an amount that I can not afford to pay. Over all the experience has caused many more nights of stress and anxiety to an already stressful situation.”

“I would not recommend Monaco Solicitors for handling your case. First of all, they have doubled the price they first indicated when starting the process without actually doing any additional work for it, and when asked about it they completely ignored it and just continued the process as if nothing happened. Secondly, and most importantly, they don't care about your case. They will take the money and then take A WEEK to respond to each query and do the actual work, making it either impossible to bring your claim to the tribunal in time, or potentially very stressful in trying to make it last minute. Please save your money, hopes and stress of going through their process. They don't care to consult you, and they won't move a finger to help you in a timely manner.”

“I contacted you a couple of weeks ago to help with a settlement agreement. My company had agreed to consider it. I was assigned Hardeep Kaur. I answered all the questions asked to the best of my ability. I explained that I was still suffering from mental health issues. I did not understand some of the legal terms used and asked for clarification. I then received an e mail treating me like some 5 year old school kid. I have told Hardeep I don’t want to proceed with her. The experience has left me more anxious than I was before I contacted you.”

“I am so pleased I used Monaco Solicitors. Nicola was great to deal with from the start I was left with confidence that she would get me the best deal and she definately has. Together we increased a exgratia payment by an astonishing factor of 1.5. Then above and beyond Nicola made sure my fees were tax efficient. I should end it here but I will rant on a bit more with a hope it helps you with your decision at this stressful moment. I didn't know Monaco solicitors before this encounter so I did call around to four other companies before selecting Monaco and I asked the same questions 1) is the offer fair 2) should I ask for more. The answers I got elsewhere were 1) Yes 2) our hourly rate is xxx if you want to ask for more from your employer you will be charged between 6 hours and 10 hours depending on the work requested. They then asked my details so they could run "conflict of interest" check. At the end of my research it just felt that the competitors were only interested in a basic fee and that our interests were not aligned. So I activated Nicola at Monaco and the fee charged was appropriate to the end result and as it turned out 1) the offer wasn't fair 2) yes I should ask for more. Daunting as this can be it was made all the more easier when I contacted Monaco Solicitors. The solicitor assigned to my case, Helen Alty, was fantastic (as were the rest of the team I engaged with). “If you, like me, are looking for the first time in your life for a lawyer to support you with an unpleasant work situation, please do yourself a favour and I strongly recommend do not choose this one! I have chosen this lawyer simply by reading and trusting the reviews on their website – and all I can say is that was the wrong decision. I was very disappointed by the service received by the lawyer I was allocated to Nicola Welchman. From the first correspondence that was to be drafted by my lawyer, there was a delay and promises that were undelivered. I tried to contact her by phone, email but still no reply and I simply could not reach her. In such a stressful situation I was going through in my work life, there was a clear lack of support from my lawyer and all I experience was added stress. She was being frustrated at the questions I ask which I found unprofessional. Several times throughout the process, I had to even involve the manager as I was getting a service that was not worth the money I spent. In a nutshell, having chosen this lawyer was the worst decision I made and the only feeling I got once the case was closed is that it’s all about the money and nothing about the service rendered to the customer. I am taking the time to write this review as I would not wish for anyone to go through what I did. Choosing a lawyer for the first time can be a daunting prospect but choosing a wrong one can make it the worst experience ever. Choose wisely!”

“Garvey Hanchard took time to consider a problem that a member of my family had regarding workplace bullying arising out of a whistle blowing incident.
