"**Barbour Beacon Jacket**\r\n\r\n I had posted this under the jacket, but will post it here as well.\r\n\r\nFirst off, I want to say that my experience with this company has been BEYOND pleasant. Their customer service and responses are incredibly rapid, to the point I received responses within minutes every time. The shipping was incredibly fast, I received my package (From England to California) in only 3 days. While I had my hesitations about the initial purchase, the product was true and legitimate with all tags and labels, and a price better than could be believed. Even with my hesitation on sizing, the customer service was willing to measure the different jackets for me and allow me to make changes to my order accordingly. \r\n\r\nBarbour Beacon Jacket-\r\nAs for the jacket itself, everything you read about this jacket online is true. The sizing on this is incredibly tricky, with a slim chest and the sleeves riding high in the armpit, choosing the right size is difficult. I have noticed that as the size increases so do the sleeve lengths. The sleeves will run slightly down over your hand with this being an outdoor style jacket. The jacket does appear to have a plastic liner underneath the plaid fabric to help with waterproofing, but it can make the interior of the jacket fairly-warm and humid. I would not wear additional or thick layers under this jacket, especially with the tightness in the armpits. \r\n\r\nSizing- \r\nI\u2019m currently 5\u201911\u201d, weigh 185lbs, 42\u201d chest, 34\u201d waist, and have an athletic build. I purchased the LARGE. \r\nWhat they say about this jacket is true about going up a size. All my other regular day-to-day jackets are medium, with this I went with a LARGE and it fits appropriately. However, if you have a more athletic or muscular build (with increased chest, back, or shoulder muscles), you will find the jacket to be a bit binding in the arms upon reaching forward (pictured). I found rotating my shoulders and hiking the jacket up a bit higher helps to combat this. If you are near my size yet more of a barrel-chested individual or someone whose body doesn\u2019t taper to the waist, an XL would probably serve you better. In the midriff, the jacket fits like that of a suit jacket, but is not tight or restricting. While for my shoulders I would have preferred an XL (See the tightness in the back when arms brought forward), I know the rest of the jacket would have been far too large for my frame. I have also noticed that with the triangular patch holding the jacket closed, the neck can get a bit tight with forward or bending motion. Some individuals have had some success tailoring this jacket, but the tailors in my region refuse to touch it for skill reasons, and even recommending keeping the large and that I would be dissatisfied with the XL. So if you purchase this with the intent of modification, be warned it may be more difficult or costly than you think. \r\n\r\nOverall, the jacket is beautiful and well made, with great attention to detail given. It is a classic-looking jacket that I\u2019m happy to finally have in my collection and glad that I went with Michael Stewart Menswear to purchase it."

“I know the company and have used them before and they have Paul and Shark products usually at competitive prices. I ordered on a Sunday and received the item on a Tuesday, excellent service. The colours as displayed on the website are a little inaccurate and although the actual colour was a little darker than displayed it was still very good and acceptable.”

“I originally tried the Barbour Quilted jacket on in a store then searched on line for the best price. Michael Stewart came up with one of the best prices I could find (not the cheapest) but was impressed with the comments. Etc. Once my order was placed the update on the status of my order from both Michael Stewart and the courier was spot on. Jacket as descripted; well packaged and on time. Would recommend.”

“I searched online for a particular Barbour jacket and Michael Stewart had it in at the right size at a good price. Even the Barbour store had run out of this size. It was delivered really quickly and, because we were going to be out, we opted for pick-up from our local Sainsbury's. So far, so good. Hope the jacket (a present for my son) is appreciated and a good fit or I will be testing Michael Stewart Menswear's returns policy efficiency.”

“Having received the coat I ordered I found it was too small and returned it for a larger size. I phoned and spoke to the team the they confirmed one in stock and put it to one side. A couple of improvements 1. A comment on the website stating the item would be smaller fitting than the actual size and 2. Postage paid return label would have been useful. Otherwise good product at a good price”

Dear Sir, Many thanks for giving us some positive feedback, we do state that this particular Jacket is a little small to size but to be fair we put the information in the size and fit section, so i think i will move this to the main product description area. “Excellent service. Order delivered within 24 hours. Although it would have been very helpful if you had more detailed sizing for your shirts. I ordered 3 Westbrook shirts and did not realise that they were a slim, darted fitting. Your web called them " contemporary fit " but unfortunately they were too tight and had to return them,which was a disappointment.”

“Normally very happy with service from the point of placing order, but have to say that this week not receiving a confirmation that order has been despatched after 4 days from receipt is disappointing and not up to normal standard. Also I still have some issues on the website going backwards and forwards from page to page. At times I have to leave site and re-enter which is frustrating. Other disappointment I encounter quite often is the particular item I am wanting to order not being in stock. This happens particularly with sales items which I guess is really not that surprising.”
