The item arrived quickly and customer service was excellent. However it's now been 3 weeks since I have been promised a refund as the cost was too small. I'm waiting for nearly £200. Not acceptable.

We can see from our system that your order was received back on Monday the 8th, in line with our returns policy refunds may take up to 14 working days to be processed, this is standard procedure. A member of the team advised this morning via email that your refund will be processed by the end of the day. You will receive email confirmation once the refund has been completed. My new Barbour Westmorland "gilet" vest was not manufactured for an American man's physique. Far from. It's way too tight around the hips and my chest. I'm far from fat, wear a medium and that's the size that I purchased. But I can hardly zip it up, nor button the buttons, forget putting a sweater on underneath. This is not cut like my forty plus year old Bedale which is a larger size - C42. I'm utterly disappointed by this purchase and should have tried it on before I spend nearly three hundred dollars on something I cannot wear comfortably. It's really a disappointment since I've always wanted this vest- but it's nothing like the old model at all. A Westmorland in name only.

I would like to be able to write a review but the items are yet to arrive and there has been no update in tracking for the last 3 days on Royal Mail. The item was due today (8 days after ordering). By way of contrast, I placed an order with another UK company on the same day that offers DHL Express (same price 25 GBP) It arrived in Australia 4 days later! I still have no idea when my items are arriving. You might consider offering this option for international shipping as it has proven to be extremely fast and reliable over many years.

The items I ordered were sensibly priced, well packed and arrived quickly. One item did not fit, so I returned it (note that returns are not free, so the customer pays). The returns process has been very poor. Nearly 5-6 weeks later I have neither received a replacement shirt, nor a refund and I have not received any replies to my emails.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We did offer you some replacements when we first called to inform you that we didn’t have a like-for-like swap. But as you wanted the same shirt we chased up the brand for stock levels for the next size for you. Unfortunately, lead times with the brand caused the delay. It is not our intention to leave customers in the dark and as we pride ourselves on customer service it hurts us to know we’ve let you down. We of course have contacted you directly and have amended this issue. We truly appreciated your reply to us - 'Thanks - these things happen. Thanks for sorting the issue and I will perhaps re-order sometime soon now that I know the sizing of the shirts.'

Had to send a jumper back 10th still waiting for the refund, it’s now the 22nd, no one is answering me via the emails, really disappointing customer service.

As I'm sure you can imagine this time of year the returns department can get extremely backlogged due to the vast increase of parcels. The refund has been issued and we appreciate your patience.

Price on a Barbour jacket was the best I could find online and it was delivered quickly. However, I was then BOMBARDED with DAILY promotional emails. This is just so unnecessary and rather than have the desired effect it has made me never want to purchase anything from Michael Stewart Menswear again.

Dear Alan, I am sorry you feel the need to give us a 2 Star review. Unfortunately you placed your order after our daily cut off of 3pm in fact it was 3.54 p.m. on Friday. Our next collection from our courier was today Tuesday because of the Bank Holiday and your order has been dispatched as promised. We do hope you love your top once it has arrived. I have had to return the coat Lovely coat but a very small fit Normally get a large for a nice fit but the large size I received did not come close ordered extra large hope that fits return really easy as well

Went online to buy a Barbour jacket clicked pay now, so why is some company wanting me to download an app from Klarna who say I owe them money. So after hours on the phone waiting to be answered no joy. why is KLarna wanting money I entered into a contract with Michael Stewart menswear. NOT HAPPY AT ALL

Most disappointed as incorrect item was sent, rang to query & was informed old photo on website, most annoyed that I had to pay £4.00 to return an item that was dispatched in error!! First time to order from you so not overly impressed with the service.

Dear Bernadette, We are truly sorry, we had not noticed that the model of Polo Shirt you chose had been altered very slightly from last year to this. i.e. lettering under the collar. We did not want to mislead you in any way, but if you feel we have then I can only apologize it was not intentional. We will of course reimburse you the cost of the postage. Regards Michael Stewart.

Product great and general transaction for the purchase all went well, BUT then I discovered DPD were the delivery agents. From previous ex[perience I was expecting problems and I certainly got them. I rescheduled the delivery to ensure that I would be available all day, so when I waited in and then find a card stating there was no one available to sign, as is the standard practice with DPD I was somewhat disappointed. I then rescheduled for a delivery on the Saturday, and received advice from DPD that I could collect from the pick up point from 1200 hrs onwards. So after making a special trip I discovered that the pick up point sis closed from 1200 hrs. Eventually I managed to collect 3 days later, and was told that the DPD ticket was missing code although they agreed I had printed the email correctly. In summary good product and service until a delivery or should I say non delivery by DPD. Sadly this may be a deal breaker for future purchases.

I can’t rate the product as I have not yet received it. Despite asking for the package to be left in a specified safe place, the carrier DPD chose to ignore my request (despite an email confirming my instruction). I now have to arrange another delivery date

Hello Michael. Sorry to be negative, but my experience was not good. When I first found the product I wanted on your website a window opened telling me I was entitled to a 10% discount off my first purchase, but that I had to create an account in order to be eligible. I did so, only to then be told that the offer did not apply to the product I was buying. I continued nontheless, and at the order confirmation stage a line on the screen under the order total informed me that delivery to my postcode would be free. I diverted to Paypal to commit the funds, but on return to your website having done so, was informed that delivery costs of £5.95 would now be applied. So twice I was induced to make commitments in return for promised concessions, and twice, having made the commitments requested, the concessions were denied. I was then telephoned by one of your staff the following day to inform me that you didn't actually have the item I had bought in stock. Fortunately it had been possible for your staff to source the item elsewhere, and it did duly arrive the following day. So not a great experience all told. On the plus side, I was at least kept aware of the supply difficulty, and action was taken to remedy it. Hopefully this respose will encourage you to review your processes and website so that others are not similarly inconvenienced in the future. Best regards, Paul Mayo
