"**Barbour Beacon Jacket**\r\n\r\n I had posted this under the jacket, but will post it here as well.\r\n\r\nFirst off, I want to say that my experience with this company has been BEYOND pleasant. Their customer service and responses are incredibly rapid, to the point I received responses within minutes every time. The shipping was incredibly fast, I received my package (From England to California) in only 3 days. While I had my hesitations about the initial purchase, the product was true and legitimate with all tags and labels, and a price better than could be believed. Even with my hesitation on sizing, the customer service was willing to measure the different jackets for me and allow me to make changes to my order accordingly. \r\n\r\nBarbour Beacon Jacket-\r\nAs for the jacket itself, everything you read about this jacket online is true. The sizing on this is incredibly tricky, with a slim chest and the sleeves riding high in the armpit, choosing the right size is difficult. I have noticed that as the size increases so do the sleeve lengths. The sleeves will run slightly down over your hand with this being an outdoor style jacket. The jacket does appear to have a plastic liner underneath the plaid fabric to help with waterproofing, but it can make the interior of the jacket fairly-warm and humid. I would not wear additional or thick layers under this jacket, especially with the tightness in the armpits. \r\n\r\nSizing- \r\nI\u2019m currently 5\u201911\u201d, weigh 185lbs, 42\u201d chest, 34\u201d waist, and have an athletic build. I purchased the LARGE. \r\nWhat they say about this jacket is true about going up a size. All my other regular day-to-day jackets are medium, with this I went with a LARGE and it fits appropriately. However, if you have a more athletic or muscular build (with increased chest, back, or shoulder muscles), you will find the jacket to be a bit binding in the arms upon reaching forward (pictured). I found rotating my shoulders and hiking the jacket up a bit higher helps to combat this. If you are near my size yet more of a barrel-chested individual or someone whose body doesn\u2019t taper to the waist, an XL would probably serve you better. In the midriff, the jacket fits like that of a suit jacket, but is not tight or restricting. While for my shoulders I would have preferred an XL (See the tightness in the back when arms brought forward), I know the rest of the jacket would have been far too large for my frame. I have also noticed that with the triangular patch holding the jacket closed, the neck can get a bit tight with forward or bending motion. Some individuals have had some success tailoring this jacket, but the tailors in my region refuse to touch it for skill reasons, and even recommending keeping the large and that I would be dissatisfied with the XL. So if you purchase this with the intent of modification, be warned it may be more difficult or costly than you think. \r\n\r\nOverall, the jacket is beautiful and well made, with great attention to detail given. It is a classic-looking jacket that I\u2019m happy to finally have in my collection and glad that I went with Michael Stewart Menswear to purchase it."
