I was offered £327 for my good condition (more than 3 light scratches, signs of use) iPhone which on receipt of phone was lowered to £140 which I refused and requested return of item, Mazuma then offered me £235 which I accepted. If my phone was worth £235 why was I offered £140 ????

I recently traded in my phone with Mazuma Mobile, and unfortunately, the experience was far from positive. I took meticulous care of my device, ensuring it was in immaculate condition before sending it off. To avoid any disputes, I even took time-stamped photos as proof. However, Mazuma returned a reduced offer, claiming the phone had scratches that were not present when I sent it. What frustrated me the most was their response. Despite providing photos, Mazuma seemed quick to dismiss my claim, asserting they "couldn't possibly" have caused the damage. This felt unfair – how could they confidently say that without first reviewing my evidence? It felt as though their minds were made up before even looking at the photos and the customer service had already decided also that they didn't without even reviewing their internal photographs i asked them to take. Additionally, their communication was slow and unhelpful. I had to chase them multiple times over five days just to get a reply. When they finally did send their own photos, they pointed out a minor scratch – something that wasn't present in my before photos, which conveniently the photos took on my new iPhone apparently the quality isn't great... yes that's right, its not that there is no scratch its the quality... In the end, I requested my phone back. Given the very good condition it was in when I sent it, I'm confident I can sell it for more privately. It’s disappointing because I was hoping for a straightforward process, but instead, they tried to hit their targets by offering the lower offer for no valid reason (they have internal targets to reduce each phone) . Their photos clearly show new scratches, which can only be attributed to their handling, yet they’ve since ignored my emails. To date: 4/10/2024 they have ignored my email now to return the phone for 2 days and have not provided any tracking. Be aware there is several reviews on the forums like this and comments on facebook that when you ask they don't return phones so you're forced to start small claims. While I understand mistakes can happen, Mazuma’s failure to fairly review my evidence, the damage they caused, and their poor communication have left me unwilling to use their service again. I wouldn’t recommend them based on this experience and I would recommend the next google search down from them ;)

PLEASE, DO NOT USE THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY!! Whatever you do, please not use this company! Trust all of the 1* reviews on here with people complaining about the exact same thing. Never in all my years of dealing with a company have I come across such a bunch of thieving charlatans. The fact Mazuma Mobile tried to get this review taken down says everything you need to know. Over the years I have sold mobiles with various companies and I have never experienced a problem. That all ended and then mazuma rip offs do not use this company

Hello Daniel, I can see we have an on going claim between yourself and the courier used. We are however unable to assist you any further until we hear more from them due to your abusive behaviour and awful language used towards multiple staff members verbally. As soon as we have any further information provided on this we will update yourself. Regards Mazuma

Sent in my pristine (never been out of a protective case)iPhone 14 Pro to Mazuma. I was offered £500 but I received an email today saying that due to numerous scratches my offer was being amended to £410. On reading reviews this has happened to numerous others. It looks like they have received more iPhones than expected so don’t want to pay the money. I have requested photos and if they don’t match the ones I have taken then I will be putting in a claim at the small claims court. Avoid them like the plague !!!

Charlatans! My iPhone 14 Pro had a screen protector and rubber case on from the moment it came out of the box. Sent it to Mazuma and the lying rats offered less saying that the phone had multiple scratches on it. Absolute lie! There were a raft of one star reviews on Trustpilot then the Mazuma BOT ARMY got to work and flooded lots of fake five star reviews on. TAKE MY ADVICE, GO ELSEWHERE TO SELL YOUR PHONE, THESE CROOKS WILL NOT HONOUR THE DEAL. VERY POOR COMPANY.

Sent in an iPad said to be worth £370. They told me there were scratches so revised offer was £70. I rejected that and they increased their offer to £110. I again rejected that and when I eventually got it back I can not restore it.

‘Problems’ arising out of thin air, use CEX (UK) instead I sent my device (M8941254) in excellent condition and they came back with an assessment saying the LCD screen is lifting. A ridiculous claim that is baseless. My device has no scratches, maintained in a case and screen protector throughout its lifetime. I inspected it and cleaned it immaculately prior to sending and somehow they found the screen apparently lifting. This is a highly dubious company with unscrupulous business practices of undervaluing devices for issues I believe they have manufactured to lower the price. Don’t use Mazuma, settle for CEX instead or another resell company with a standard of integrity.

Sold a phone for £320 with this company and they sent a courier, this courier put it in a secure box and what do you know, apparently it got stolen. I would just like to make clear, Mazuma arranged the courier for a device they were buying from me for £320. Well it turns out, the insurance was only enough for £100 and after 7 weeks, I got £100 back and a message basically saying it was my fault for choosing the wrong insurance. Once again, they arranged the courier for a device they valued at £320.

Absolutely scammed. Was offered £90 for my A53 in good condition. I cosset my phones and have them in a case at all times. No scratches, no scuffs and in good working order. Pack it up neatly and safely to Mazuma and surprise surprise, get an email showing 3 scratches, scuffs to the case AND THEN SAY IT IS SUFFERING FROM BAD SCREEN BURN!! Offer reduced to £20. Nothing like the pictures or vid I took of the phone before I sent it off to them, which I sent to them in my dispute. They've either played football with it or shown me pictures of a different phone. Can't even ask for it back as I'd no doubt be sent this damaged one. I put my trust in them and have been screwed over. Will NEVER use them again, FURIOUS>

Absolute con. Sent my iPhone 24 that was immaculate - not a single scratch on it and had a screen protector and case on it from the day I got it. I inspected it, bubble wrapped it and boxed it and sent it off. They come back and say there are more than 3 scratches on the screen, so they have to take £40 off. There wasn’t even 1 scratch on the screen. Con. Avoid.

A totally shameful experience. Mazuma: outrageous. A totally shameful experience. Sent me iPad off in the packaging, as you assume it's all needed for the value. I am told there are things in the screen that a human eye cannot see, so the value is down from around £100 to £20. Crazy. I asked it to be returned. They return it, NO BOX. They have stolen and kept my box to be destroyed. There is nothing in any final pages to really tell you NOT to send it back. Terms yes - do you read ALL terms in all purchases? This is shameful. BE WARNED. And if you fight them on the phone, they do not like it one bit. I ended the call to them stating how shameful this is to without and destroy my belongings. Truly outrageous and shameful.

Sent a perfectly good - scratch free phone that had hardly been used, to find that "there are problems " and then sent photos of a large scratch on screen that is obviously new! drastically reduced offer and also claimed the phone description wasn't the phone i sent ! shocking behaviour - and im left out of pocket with an unsellable phone! Stay clear of this awful company

Absolutely disgraceful, I have sent multiple items and have never got stated price for anything, the last thing I sent apparently was flagged as a non uk phone, so offered me £170 less than quoted, never use Mazuma they’re the worst company I have ever dealt with 🤬🤬🤬

I was quoted £215 for my phone, I was not under any illusion that Mazuma would pay this price, even though my mobile phone had just been in for repair and had a brand new casing and screen protector, and not used since. After sending my phone, I came across reviews on two independent review sites which alarmed me, people were saying that their price had been greatly reduced and they were being told their phone was scratched and cracked, they were sent photos which contradicted their own photos. Well, sure enough, the exact same happened to me, I was told there were multiple scratches on the screen and casing, I had my photos to prove it was in perfect condition. I was told that I could be sent photos of my phone, I refused and said I don’t need photos of a different phone, I want my phone back in perfect condition. It has been a complete waste of my time and I would never use this company again. I will however be taking it further if my phone is returned in any different condition than I sent it to them in.

Avoid these scammers at all costs. Sent my Nintendo Switch all in perfect condition quoted me £105. Few days later that one of the controllers was faulty so revised this offer to £15 which I quickly declined so they then offered me £20 which I quickly declined. Disgraceful company will never use again.

They offer a high price only to receive your parcel and to falsely claim that my phone is damage and offer me £60 less. This is their marketing strategy as not many people would contest and offer the price. I rang up the manager to say have you seen the photos that you claim to be damaged thinking surely this was a prank. The manager was not listening to what I was saying and repeating the words I'm sorry you feel like that. When I claimed this to her, she raised her voice and we ended the call. Awful customer service. Very unethical company.

When I looked into selling my iPhone and compared on the market for the best price, Mazuma was one of the top people that would give me the most money. This is their market strategy. When they received my excellent, no scratches, mint condition phone, they devalued this saying it had more than 5 scratches and reduced the value by £60. I contested this. They asked to see front and back images, which I sent over. They replied saying actually the marks are on the side of the phone, which I then replied with more images - and only for them to respond that my images were not clear enough. I asked to see photos of these "said" scratches and they sent me dust specs claiming that these were scratches, along with a greasy finger marks. It was quite comical, I was in my work office showing this to my colleagues how they are claiming dust and greasy marks they left on my phone as damage. I contested this again for them to circle the dust marks in the images. You can't win. They have the legal rights to deny this and most people would not contest and just accept the low value offer. After going back and forth on emails, the next day I rang up the customer service line and they said the exact same thing. They read off a script saying that they take the images with high tech cameras, use a cleaning solution round the phone etc etc, After going through all this I researched Mazuma complaints and I came across a youtuber who had the same issue. For anyone looking to do the same. I really recommend for you to save you the stress, time and money to go somewhere else. I've had iPhones all my life and never have I experienced this when selling with other retailers.

I sent back two iPhones separately as both my wife and I upgraded within a few days. In BOTH cases Mazuma claimed minor additional cosmetic problems (despite my categorising them as only good rather than pristine) and in both cases reduced their offer significantly. Their initial offer was one of the best on a comparison site, their reduced offer falls well below others out there. For this to happen in one instance I could accept but happening in both - and looking at the reviews below - I suspect that Mazuma deliberately inflate their initial offer to get you to use them, and then work on the basis that enough people cannot be bothered to reject a reduced offer once the phone is at Mazuma. Would advise everyone to be very sceptical about their initial offer and go elsewhere.
