I ordered the item on (I think) Tuesday 13SEP (maybe Monday). It was for next day delivery. on 13th I got an e-mail to say dispatch was delayed and I would receive on Thursday. Fair enough. Also on Tuesday I got an e-mail to say I would get an e-mail when it was dispatched. Saturday it had not arrived (and no dispatch e-mail) so I cancelled the order and went to the local garden to purchase. Monday 19th, I asked you to acknowledge my cancellation. Today (20th) you have asked for a review, but still no confirmation of the status of my purchase and cancellation.

Placed order for a vanity unit & tap on Sunday 28th August. Your standard delivery is next working day, however as this was a Bank Holiday, we expected delivery on Tues 30th. Delivery was made on Fri 2nd Sept. Opened the box, unit was smashed beyond repair. Box however was undamaged leading to the conclusion that the unit was smashed when it was packed. The tap which was on the same order wasn't delivered at all. Following a phone call, the damaged unit was collected same day. However, during the phone call it was stated that we will not be receiving a replacement unit until the following Friday (9th Sept) as that is the only day delivery is made to our area - which is Seaham in Co Durham. How can you advertise standard next day delivery if it's wholly dependent on whether your van goes to that area on that day? If we receive an undamaged unit (and a tap) next Friday that will be almost a fortnight since order was placed. Won't be ordering from Maxwell's again.

Not very happy that I received a email saying my money had been refunded and not being given a reason ..a lot of upset and reorganising has to bed done now

Not delivered, no response to emails, phone always engaged, promised call backs, when eventually get through, not made, now escalated to Google Shops who will no doubt resolve but who wants the hassle!

Ordered Cuprinol Decking Oil on a Friday and paid for next day delivery, wanted to stain decking over the weekend. Didn't arrive on Saturday so contacted customer services who told me to refuse delivery from the courier and they would issue a refund. There was someone in all day Monday but the courier just left the can on the doorstep so we didn't get the chance to refuse delivery. Customer Services then told me that I would have to pay for the can to be returned because I had not refused delivery. Not impressed!

Delivery was one week late despite reminders and requests. Instructions of where to place goods were ignored.

Failure to deliver item on time. Very poor communication from Maxwells DIY. Prices maybe competitive, customer service is awful. Trying to return an unwanted delivery has been a pain, just having to keep explaining what went wrong with my order to Maxwells DIY. I would recommend that people thinking of using Maxwells DIY look elsewhere. Not so much as an apology from Maxwells DIY for all that went on.

Bought 4 gates. They were cheap, and didn't expect much, but MOST of the nails and pins they were assembled with had not been knocked in properly, and stood proud and VERY sharp. On all 4 gates, not just a one-off. The gates were dangerous - it would have been easy to get a nasty scratch or cut. Emailed customer services - I didn't want a refund, I could fix it myself, but thought they should be aware they were selling a dangerous product - and they ignored me. presumably they just don't care. Supposedly built by their 'own skilled staff'. Don't know what they are skilled at, but certainly not making gates. Buy the gates, so long as you don't let your children near them until you've made them safe!

Ordered 2 items for next day delivery, which cost me 4.99.Never showed up Tuesday.Rang up in afternoon.Said out for Delivery.Never showed Wednesday. Rang up twice, abd same abswer out for deluvery.Rang up Thursday morning at 11 o clock, Had same answer again,out for delivery and then rangvat 16.00 on Thursday afternoon abd got told that the items were damaged and dudnt know when they were going to get deluvered, so i asked for a full refund which im still waiting for.Wouldnt shop with these again.Rubbish service and told a load of lies over the phone.

If I could give a zero rating I would. I ordered one tin of paint, it failed to arrive. Eight phone calls and three weeks later it still hadn't arrived. At no point did Maxwells contact me with an apology or explanation. I phoned requesting a refund- six days later I was still waiting. Two phone calls later I threatened further action and hey presto I get an emailed receipt and a refund. Still no apology or explanation. I won't use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Parts were delivered on an incorrect date due to an issue I was not informed about... Had to call back twice to get this refunded. And I know this isn't to do with them but due to the delay in soil I was unable to save my Strawberry plant.

Paid next day delivery for the Saturday, didnt arrive, no response to emails, raised with Google, promised delivery on the Wednesday, item arrived on the Thursday after asking for a refund and going out to buy a replacement. Will not be using again!

I am still waiting for my delivery one week after expected delivery date. After the first phone call I was told that the item had been damaged in transit but was not informed of this until I phoned! I was then told it could be re- sent the next day if I wanted, when the item had not arrived by 5pm I phoned and was told that it was on its way and could be delivered later that evening. However still no delivery so next day I phoned again to be told it had been sent and that they would contact the carrier and get back to me, needless to say no package and no phone call or email. I am very disappointed by this service I know that things do go wrong but an email to keep me informed would surely not have been too difficult.

Items ordered were despatched in good time and delivery was made in good time, but here is where the problem starts. Only 1 of the items arrived, reading the tracking supplied by the courier UK Mail it appears the 2nd item was damaged and has been destroyed. Now this happens and in itself is not an issue. What is my issue though is that 2 emails later to customer services, a contact form request and I have yet to receive a response never mind a replacement item arrive. I have also tried to contact the online order helpline where after 10 minutes listening to the automated sales pitch I decided to hang up. I'm stil out of pocket! Bottom line, nothing wrong with the service until something went wrong, at that point the customer service has been non existent

I cannot review a service not having any goods to comment upon,in fact I have initiated a complaint thru penpal to find out what has happened ,I have sent you an e mail and telephoned you without responce,hence my very poor rating

I would never buy from this site again. You have to buy and pay for the goods before you know the shipping charges. They have soothing words like shipping from £9.99. My shipping charges cost more than what I was buying. Very bad practise to charge in this way, a good site will show the customer the price of the goods and the price of the shipping so they can make an informed decision before committing to buy. Beware.

I ordered items online and paid using my bank card. The delivery driver brought to my attention that three of the five posts which were needed to complete the job were missing, and he advised me to phone or contact maxwells to inform you which my husband did. The remainder of the order was due on Monday and the remaining picket fencing arrived but no missing three posts, so therefore our workmen had to come back again another day. This resulting in me purchases the posts locally at additional costs. I also sent an email concerning the above and I have not even received any reply. My husband phoned again and he was offered the three missing posts to be sent out the following day which this was no good as the job is now finished, and he has asked for a refund Very disappointed customer
