“You gave me only two quotes. One said price is £TBC, and this company (white horses) now messages me every few days with an automated text message repeating the £TBC quote. The second quote doesn’t actually operate in the area I am interested in”

“Abousloute rubbish take ages to survey. Surveyors dont like to talk and discuss their findings. Just use a local surveyor any it doesnt matter will be better than what ever this mob send out for you. Dont use them!!!”

“Used these to arrange a Surveyor for a house I was purchasing. Surveyor never called more than once, despite calls, emails, texts etc. I was unable to find another Surveyor quick enough and I would have lost the house so I bought it without a survey!!! Let’s hope the risk was worth it!!! Told these guys about never hearing from the Surveyor after just one email from him and booking an appt but they didn’t seem to care. So much for the recommendation!!!”

“They were a disgrace, didn't show the designs or the valuation and till this day I still haven't seen them and paid them £1200 cash which he insisted on and after numerous emails to see the valuation/designs was ignored, do not do business with PRINSEGATE they are very unprofessional. The M.D ignores complaints one assumes he has so many, customer service is rubbish and the person who came I will hold back his name for now but in future, I will send another review as they have still not acknowledged my complaint is a shocking company take your money don't supply what you ask for and only 2 reasons why they insist on cash one is you can't go to the credit card company or the is well work it out TAX wise.”

HI. I suspect you are confusing us with somebody else. Our system is instant and automatic, with quote results from our pool of surveyors shown on screen and sent to you immediately by email.

“Prinsegate staff initially indicated to me that they would carry out a house survey and follow up with a report within 3 working days. They reassured me that they would have everything done by Completion, due on Wed 22 Dec. With the report due, I called on Monday and was told that the report would be sent to me by 6 pm on 22 Dec. When I called at 10 am on Wed 22 Dec I was told that the admin staff would contact the surveyor to see when the report might be ready. I did not get a callback. I called again at 1 pm and after some time received an email telling me that the report would be ready sometime between 4 pm and 8 pm. As of this morning 23 Dec - that is today - the report has not been completed and shared.”

“I used local building surveyors when I was required to get a RIC S level 3 survey done on a house that we wanted to buy. We found Watsons & they were completely useless. The survey was carried out by an associate partner & no mortgage lender would recognise the survey. I could just as well have got £600 & put it down a drain somewhere. It has been an absolutely dreadful experience.”

Dear Matt Sorry to hear of your negative experience. But Watson's are not one the surveyors listed on our site, so I think you probably also used a competitor's site and found them through that. Best regards Local Building Surveyors

“I hired a building surveyor - Bruce Gray who owns Grays Building Consultants (Tunbridge Wells) to provide a comprehensive building survey on a three bedroom flat I was purchasing in a 1890's Georgian mansion. In my experience the building survey grossly underestimated the extent of dampness and mould in the flat and the remedial actions needed to fix the problem - as two of the three bedrooms are unliveable. It is costing around £10,000 to treat and extract the mould and make the flat habitable. In my personal opinion this constitutes professional negligence on the surveyor's part. I formally complained to Grays Building Consultants and Bruce Gray carried out a formal investigation and found no wrongdoing by himself/his company! I am now pursuing my complaint with RICS.”
