It was ok but the recommended firm did not offer a home buyers survey - which their website said they did - so it proved a waste of time and effort. I just picked a firm I knew anyway

Different quotes but all much the same at £460-£480 but found 1 for £380 (every little helps when buying 1st house).

worth doing if you don't know the area and have no recommendations

I have not yet heard back from him. I can only comment when he sends me his report.

I just wanted to get a rough idea of cost, for budgeting purposes. It would have helped, if I could have got quotes for home buyer and structural surveys in a single hit. It would also have reduced the number of follow up e-mails (and even a phone call), which were not what I needed at this stage.

Great to get an immediate idea of costs and the surveyors contacted us quickly

Quick response, prices seemed competitive (all were within a few pounds of each other...a bit odd)

Although their website stated that the survey could be done within 5 working days, is when you have signed a release form and scanned it in and sent it back, and paid for the survey in advance. The survey itself was ok but seemed to make lots of reference to ' not being able to access' certain areas, one of which was a lift ... Which we had looked in on our viewing. In all, not a great service

I didn't even buy the service from this website, but they just kept emailing me continuously! Might use them in future as its good value but they are putting too much resource into chasing emails!

This seemed to be a good search engine coming up with competitive quotes from local surveyors. However when I contacted the cheapest quote provider they did not honour the quote generated on local building surveyors. This may have been an issue with the surveying company but I am unable to tell and was very dissapointed in the difference in price quoted on the local building surveyors website and the actual company (I did quote the cheap quote in my contact email).

survey took place as arranged but was not impressed with actual survey report as upstairs windows which all needed replacing were not mentioned. One fanlight did not even shut and a window handle was missing. These were not even mentioned in the report. Not impressed that they didn't look in a bedroom because someone was in it. I am sure they would have come out for the survey to take place

What I wanted from a site with the word "Local" in its title was links to "local" firms. I got some of those but the cheapest quote was actually from some sort of National company (based miles away from the town where I was buying a house) claiming to have a "local" surveyor in my area. I had my suspicions that this surveyor was not "local" at all and when I challenged them to identify the surveyor and his/her familiarity with the area in which the house is located I was told that whilst he covered that area he was actually based over 30 miles away! Needlesss to say I didn't engage them.

Liked the idea of multiple quotes, but website only gave me one! It seemed OK, but would have liked others to compare.

I just have a remark as to the functionality of the site rather than a full review. When requesting quotes there should be an option whether one wants to be contacted by phone or email. Personally, I use these sort of instant quote websites to shop around. I don't want to then be showered by phone calls from the companies that can provide the service. It's not so much the case with emails, although it would be good to opt out of that as well, but getting phone calls during the day can feel very intrusive, especially if you're at work.
