I had ordered some jumbo mount board which arrived in two packages. One package was fine as the edges had been reinforced with stiff cardboard but the other was just taped with soft cardboard. This second one arrived open on one side with the mount board really dirty where it had clearly been dragged around. When the delivery men arrived they were balancing it on a corner in the road. There was nothing written on the package to say that it had fragile contents, and must not be bent which would had been a good idea. On the plus side it arrived promptly. Many Thanks

Product choice is good. Delivery is fast, but condition of goods can be be subject to damage by careless carriers.

Service is good but it's impossible to buy one or two cards as needed and I was forced to spend £40 extra on mount boards I did not need. This is unacceptable for a small business.

Dear Customer, Thank you for your order and feedback. Previous experience when sending out less than 10 sheets of mount boards has shown they would not arrive to you in the condition hoped for. You can by all means mix the mount boards with others if they are the same size, or if you speak to one of our sales team at point of order, we can add the mount board with other backing boards if it is viable? Delivery was fast but picture mounting boards were not given any extra packaging. Thus fairly inevitably they had been damaged by the couriers. I contacted Lion who, to be fair, issued a fairly swift refund for the damaged boards -BUT it seems fairly obvious to me that this is going to happen repeatedly if they are not packed properly. I don't think the couriers can be blamed for a large pack of boards that are just sent out in their original single skin cardboard box.

Dear John Thank you for your feedback regarding the packaging on your recent Lion order. The mountboard boxes which we despatch our main boards in have been designed to reduce impact damage especially on the corners, the packers normally add white polly strips at the bottom and top of these boxes to help with corner damage also. I have asked the despatch department to look into the order and to check these procedure were carried out. I am glad to here that reporting the said damage was handled efficiently by our team and hope the replacements have arrived in a better condition. As a new business I struggle with the concept of your MOV on mouldings set at £50. This leads to increasing my stock holding unnecessarily with products that I don't know I can re-sell. I try to work hand to mouth and this policy does not help my business do this. Further, delivery takes between 3 to 4 days to arrive, where other suppliers work to deliver next day via courier. It would be great for new businesses ( those startups in their first 12 months) to benefit from better terms. Your product range is extensive and this is a strong USP and the quality of the products I have received has been good. Service over the phone and email has been very acceptable. Thank you.

Dear Graham Thank you for your feedback regarding our minimum order values. This is actually something we have been looking into a bit further and currently trialing sending out smaller value moulding orders on a below minimum basis on mouldings. As you can imagine it is hard to administrate this function online currently so we our trialing this option via our sales office. The main reason for the traditional £50 minimum is due to this being an ideal size package to safety transport to you the customer. However the early trials of the below minimum order level orders have been very promising with minimum transit damage. Therefore if you would like to trail the below minimum method for yourself please contact our sales office and I am sure we will be able to accommodate this for you. Placing the on line order and delivery went well. Packaging was damaged in transit and four mount boards and seven backing boards had holes and dents. The spoilt goods were photoed and George at lion was helpful and credited my account. The cardboard used in the packing does seem thinner than it used to be.

Actually I was not happy, I was disappointed that no one called me to advise me that 2 products I ordered which were O.O.S. were actually due in over the next few days, had I have known this I would of asked you to wait and complete the order in full, now I have 2 products albeit small items which I now have to either wait till I order again or pay the carriage charge. I did speak to someone about this, they advised me that the website system runs differently to your stock system. I hope this feedback helps Thanks Guy

My problem is with your mouldings minimum order of £50. I don't mind paying delivery charge if I urgently need a moulding which comes in under the £50 and of course it wouldn't be 1 thin stick. I run my business on 'don't buy mouldings you don't need'. It doesn't store and I don't have room. Other suppliers don't do this. (Park48)

Prompt ordering and delivery, but on the downside the Minerva range is not good, loads of discontinued lines to the point I'm going to have to move to Mainline to get what you have discontinued

Dear Rob Thank you for your feedback on the service here at Lion. With regards to the problems you have faced with discontinued mouldings especially on the Minerva range. we have recently had to review this product range and line and reduce the amount we stock. Mainly to make way for newer Minerva ranges and remove some of the more slower selling lines. Sometimes certain colours in a range sell really well but unfortunately the whole range maybe a much slower seller hence for the deletion. Easy to order on line. Order arrived quickly. I was not happy with L1545 oak veneer. All 6 lengths were different. Most of them looked like left overs or what another customer had returned.

i paid for next working day delivery arrived in the evening when we had all gone home had to be collected the day after so i paid for a service i didn't get,needed something else tried amazon got it next day

STILL PROBLEMS WITH ONLINE ORDERING, IN THE PAST THE PEOPLE AT LION WERE EITHER FRAMERS OR HAD A KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRODUCTS FROM A CUSTOMER/FRAMERS POINT OF VIEW, NOW SEEMS TO HAVE MOVED TO CALL CENTRE/DISTRIBUTION WAREHOUSE.
