Prompt chop service but lengths poorly matched and badly packaged so tips of mitres damaged in transit. Will need to recut to remove damage. Not impressed.

Disappointed to find two pieces of the frames had splits in the inside of the frame, likely due to not being protected enough.

I'm new to framing and intended to use the mouldings for large scale tray frames. I followed the instructions as I saw fit, but unfortunately the angle of the mitre was wrong and I'm struggling to find a use for them. It would be useful to have more direction when ordering about tray frames – it simply gives a note about measuring the outside of the canvas. nothing about the angle of the mitre cut. I appreciate this was probably the result of my inexperience, but it's a simple mistake that should be anticipated at the order stage. Not a great result.

It was my first order and delivery was prompt but, as I had decided to try their chop service, I was very disappointed with the results. They boast about "skilled operators" who chop frames on "high precision saws" but these guys don't seem to have set their machine properly to achieve a clean mitre. (How difficult is it to make a perpendicular cut?) They charge a significant premium over the cost of the mouldings for this work but it hardly seems justified and I can do a better job myself. I emailed them with pictures to ask for their opinion on this but they haven't bothered to respond so I am posting this review. Not a happy new customer!

Moulding recently has been very variable in quality. The tray canvas frame can be solid and easy to cut or very light and fragile like compressed paper. Expensive mistake. Framing sundries are always consistent

Good stock and products but poor packaging meant it was damaged on receipt. I can’t believe a picture framing supply company doesn’t use corner protectors!!

Order lost and late, despite overnight next day delivery. Obviously the courier at fault rather than lion, but that didn’t carry much weight with my customer, whose order was cancelled as it couldn’t be fulfilled in time 😐

Used to be good service when you weren’t ripped off with delivery changes, then sending 2 recipes of sale…..everything delivered was damaged,,,,,, then when talking to someone in office.. made to feel like it was my fault,,,,, no refunds… just nothing a week later…😔

Black Mounts came damaged. Have had issues like this before and it's one of the reasons I don't order as regular. Replacements were sent but, customer had to wait longer for work to get completed. This has a knock-on effect

The package came damaged and there was damage to the mounts in various places. Definitely need to improve packaging to avoid this.

Delivery expensive and not very good. still waiting for second half of my order now two days overdue. Tracking only gives update of 10th Sept (it is now the 15th). Delivery you use does not give a delivery day. Just turn up and hope you in !!

I am pleased with the range of products and also the quality. However I am not pleased about the closure of the trade counter. Although I can understand reasoning due to the pandemic, the facility to order online and collect isn't available and really should be. There cannot be a good reason to not have this available to local customers and it is no different to other trade and retail outlets including my own!

First piece of moulding sent was broken in transit so a replacement chop was sent but in the wrong moulding. The replacement chop was sent but with no attention to the finish. Maple veneer frames should have a similar amount of patternation on each edge. I was sent one piece with loads of pattern and the rest with hardly any and one with none at all. Considering it is such a small frame this shouldn't have been a problem.

This was a disappointing experience as it was my first time buying from LION with the intention of using your mount board regularly, if the quality and delivery was good enough. The delivery came as expected, however, unfortunately when the parcel arrived the box was already open, polystyrene protectors missing and the contents popping out of the box with the ends of the mount board bent and knocked. Due to the urgency of having to use the board (the areas that were not damaged) I had to continue with the remaining material instead of sending it back. Disappointing when I had been recommended by a regular customer.

Lion have supplied us with various sundries over the years and were great but with Brexit and the new charges on duty and the length of time it takes to get the stuff, we wont be ordering any more, unfortunately.

Orders are taking longer to France since Brexit. My order was due to be delivered 3 days ago but I got a call to say truck had broken down and I must now collect my order from a point which is 30 mins drive from me. If I don't do this within the next 5 days it will be returned to sender, Lion! Not impressed, may be a courier issue but they ultimately work for you.

I recently switched to you as a supplier, from Wessex pictures, because I was fed up with returning damaged or malformed sticks. My first order with you contained a malformed stick. You were very polite, helpful and apologetic in replacing it, and speedy too, but I fail to understand why there isn't some sort of quality control at your end to ensure that unusable materials aren't sent out in the first place? Simple really.

Hi Peter. Thank you for your review. The photograph we capture at the point of despatch shows that both mouldings on your recent order were still in the manufacturers wraps. We do not open wraps at the point of despatch as that would reduce the protection in transit. We perform checks on each batch of moulding on arrival before accepting the moulding into stock. We also log the percentage wastage being processed through our chop section. We accept a degree of wastage on our own chop service due to cutting around the imperfections that will exist in a wood based product produced to industry standard. Despite these checks, we do inevitably have some customers that receive moulding with faults that cannot be worked around and, where this occurs, we do our best to resolve these issues to the customers satisfaction as quickly as possible. I ordered the mount board holder on the website and it arrived promptly ; thank you. Unfortunately one of the welds on the framework was broken and a gasket missing . I’m still waiting for a fix from Lion
