Thank you for your feedback, our sincere apologies for the issues experienced with this order. I believe our sales team have been in touch to investigate this issue with our courier. Regards, LION

I get items from Lion and expect always the same discount irrelevant on the amount spent. Few months ago when I had an order I had to insist that I get the discount as the previous order which was that of 33%. On my last order which I have just placed, I had to insist to get a 20% discount. I am in this field of trade and would not be competitive unless I get a decent discount. Thanks Mario Martinelli / Pictures & Frames

Did not receive the exact items I ordered. I received only half the amount of D rings, & smaller rolls of gummed tape, but fortunately I wasn't charged for the original order

Fairly quick delivery and all items supplied. I also received a catalogue despite asking in the past not to be sent any paper catalogues by post. I'm happy to order whatever I want on line. Sending me this large heavy catalogue is simply a waste of paper, time and energy. I was charged £14.95 +VAT for delivery. This seems excessive as my order came to a total of £76.60 and was under 5kg weight.

Thank you for your feedback, looking at your order we can see that you have been charged our usual overseas carriage, therefore we can confirm the inclusion of the catalogue did not affect the charge. Including the Mouldings2020 catalogue in each order during September has in fact greatly reduced our wastage and postage. Regards, LION

I purchase stas hanging system spending nearly£200 for my house, no template and no instructions, which I find very disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback, we're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your order. A video guide can be found here for more information - https://www.stasgroup.com/en/cliprail-pro.html#tab-product-view5 We'll also be adding manual instructions for our hanging systems onto our website in the near future. Disappointed that lion deleted the minerva mouldings in one fell swoop and forgot to let framers know . I have so many customers want the same minerva moulding as I used over a period of time but have to tell them they are now unavailable with few substitutes available on the market locally beginning to look for another range . Simons/ arcadia/mainline etc but lead time is extended to 2 / 3 weeks instead of a few days .

Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear that you haven't received our communications regarding Minerva. You can find any mouldings we are discontinuing here - https://www.lionpic.co.uk/picture-frame-moulding/discontinued-mouldings-reduced-to-clear/

Very helpful on the phone. Cuts and quality of wood is excellent. Careful packaging. Catalogue need clarity in how mouldings will be cut. For s beginner it’s difficult to envisage which side it would be cut. The ‘chop’ marking is not adequate to discern the side of the cut. As result I wasted some money or I have to adopt them to different use. Did not get back to me when I wrote about the non usability of the moulding. I’ll recommend reviewing the catalogue with clients of different skills. Sabes Sugunasabesan As a result

Dear Customer, Thank you for your feedback which I have forwarded on to my colleague who produces the catalogues. I can see you placed your order online. If using a spacer you just need to add this as a comment for example: "L2643 spacer to fit L1388". The comments can be added at confirmation stage when ordering online. If you wanted to clarify further at any stage of the ordering process please feel free to call us on 0121 773 1230 (Mon-Fri, (9am - 5pm). Best regards, LION.

I like the service your company gives me. The products are great, likewise the online ordering system. HOWEVER I would purchase a lot more from your company if you did away with the minimum ordering system. I often need just 6 or 10 metres of a cheap moulding or a single “chop” Frame. As a small framer I cannot afford to keep topping up order values to £50 or over stocking frequently used products.? One of the larger framing suppliers that. I use regularly will supply a Single length of moulding on most of their products and also a single chop frame if required with no minimum order value. They now, unfortunately get the majority of my business as little as the order value might be. Regards Mick Downes

Dear Mick, Thank you for your feedback - it has been passed on. Just to let you know we have decreased our minimum ordering over the years. It used to be £30 spend at least on sundries and £50 on mouldings. So we have combined the two. Best regards, Lion.

The product is always exemplary. What let's down your business is a poor customer services experience BUT it must be noted from a select few of your staff and NOT all

Your ordering staff and counter staff are excellent. However you have discontinued Minerva stock without offering a viable alternative. You have also drastically changed your glass availability which I find most inconvenient as it makes glass handling more difficult. I bought my framing equipment from you several years ago and although I only frame in a small way I have been a loyal and regular customer. I feel you have failed to reciprocate this loyalty and no longer show any interest in your small customer. A D Patterson (Patt 28)

Service great however cost of delivery is high. Also one of the products leaves a lot to be desired. The mount board v cutter is poor quality. £32 and the blade tightener is poor.

The products are first class. However my heart sinks when the dirty van arrives and I look in the back to see my mountboard almost folded over, not laid flat . The mouldings are also very roughly treated. My brother in law is a delivery driver and I know how hard his job is, moving everything to access parcels, but there must be an answer to delivering fragile goods. It must be very wasteful and frustrating to both the supplier and the customer having damaged goods.

Lion offers value for money. The staff are always very friendly and helpful - both over the phone and in person at Birmingham. Recent problems I have encountered are damaged mouldings which have been delivered in ripped packaging so that is obviously a fault of the delivery firm. However, occasionally when I collect from B'ham, the mouldings are also damaged - especially the natural woods. Having said that, staff are very good at replacing the damaged mouldings when pointed out. My only other criticism would be that one has to order 10 sheets of mountboard for delivery whereas D & J Simons only ask for 5 - and only ask for two lengths of moulding as a minimum.

I discovered a product was discontinued, but the person I spoke to did not offer any other comparison/alternative and I was disapointed as usually the staff are extremley helpful.

Ordered 20m of Bare Ash moulding and 20m of Ayous fillet spacer with other framing supplies Although I talked to a representative beforehand and established that the combination of moulding, spacer, glass, artwork and backing board would fit, they clearly wouldn't work together. Now I am stuck with 20m of material that is not useful for anything.

The online ordering process is simple and easy to use. Updates on expected delivery times are very good and accurate. However I think Lion could be more flexible when it comes to ‘small orders’. £50 min order is too high and I don’t see why smaller orders/parcels couldn’t be accommodated by some other method of despatch. I recently submitted a request but my email was not dealt with to my satisfaction.

This batch of frame moulding wasn't the best, and two lengths had defects which should have been spotted before dispatch, so top grade art in second grade frames. I don't have the time to quality control, so I rely on Lion to do it for me. Website ordering is the best I know, packaging is good too, so maybe a glitch..

Often good, often dodgy. Range okay, prices okayish, service variable. Trade counter sometimes undermanned, a perennial problem; then if you choose delivery instead of collecting at the trade counter there's the risk of getting faulty stuff, usually moulding. There's also a seemingly standard practice of splitting deliveries over a couple of days meaning jobs can't be completed until part two arrives. The there are the maddening rules about what they will and won't deliver... irritating commercial arrogance?

Goods were waiting for me at the collection point. All good so far. I noticed that one package (pulp board) was torn but, being only pulp board, I didn't worry too much about that. But when I opened the package at home, I found I was 1 sheet short (9 instead of 10). Have notified Lion of this yesterday but am still waiting for a reply and remedy.
