First time order arrived yesterday in battered packaging. I used the chop service. The product was good as expected but two pieces had dents in the visible edges. I managed to iron them back but it worries me about future orders!

I took delivery of my latest order of framing material on 1st October and as the packaging was pristine I felt confident that the contents were also pristine so only opened it Tuesday. Unfortunately 2 of the moldings are damage and the packereds must have seen this as they were making up the order. Lion are a great company to deal with and I have used them for 20 years and have exilant service but on this particular occasion there packing team let them down.

The Lion setup is first class and was my prime supplier of Framing supplies, however the cessation of the Collection service has forced me to look elsewhere. As a very small business that does not hold very much stock, the ability to nip down and collect 2 pieces of matboard or 2 sticks of moulding to satisfy an immediate job was essential. To obtain the same items I now have to make up an order of 10 unneeded sheets of board and also pay a delivery charge. Yes the goods arrive in 24/48 hours but any profit is now tied up in stock I do not want or need (at this time). I have had to contact pretty much all framers in the Birmingham/Wolverhampton/Cannock area to see if they can help me out at short notice. Very nearly all of them have said that they no longer predominantly use Lion but either Wessex or Centrado - this may not necessarily be for the same collection type reason as me. Both Wessex and Centrado have a collection service as well as a weekly delivery service with no minimum board requirements. I have pleaded for your assistance on a couple of occasions but you have ignored my 'Chat' requests. Very regretfully I am having to seek a supplier that will save me money.

I do recognise that without the trade counter our offer is less appealing to some local customers but I'm sure you'll understand we had to weigh this against changes is customer ordering habits and the need to maintain a COVID-secure workplace for our team. Disappointed in the massive size of a shoe box, shrink wrap And plastic strap padded in side with air bags for a 4cm x 3cm part. Postage £9.95 +vat whereas a PO bubble envelope would be around £2

Dear Customer, thank you for your review. We only use DX and DPD to deliver parcels. We use Royal Mail for letters only and it is untraceable, more so during Covid 19. There would be a higher risk of your parcel going missing and we would be unable to retrieve your parcel. The £9.95 carriage includes picking and packaging also. Best regards, LION.

Product great! 3 star rating given because the item could easily have been packed in a small jiffy bag first class post. It would have cost a lot less than the £10 delivery charged. I found that a bit steep.

This is the first time to use LION sadly some of the items showed in stock weren’t but I would say I received a phone call to be advised of this. Which I was able to sort did receive next day so to sum up I would use again and would recommend

The product is fine however being charged to receive promotional materials (which were not requested) via £9.95 postage charge is not. Neither is the poor customer service when this issue was raised, very disappointing.

I ordered Saturday but delivery didn't come till following Wednesday. I thought postage for small package was high and parcel included two Lion catalogues that I didn't want.

I am pleased with the product but thought the postage was very expensive.I didn't need 'next day service' and didn't ask for it. It arrived a day late anyway because the driver could not find the studio.

Dear Customer, Thank you for your feedback. With regards to delivery, we only offer one price of carriage. If you order before 12 your order automatically goes out on an overnight and if after 12 it would usually take 1-2 days for delivery. If our carriers are unable to deliver they will try again 3 x and then send the items back to us. Ordered Wednesday on 24 hour delivery (Thursday or Friday) ...did not arrive until Monday afternoon. Postage about the same price as the items. Not good enough.

I am sure that what you sent me is fine... and your chat line is very good...BUT...via the chat line I was told that the weight of the mountcutter that I ordered was 15kg, and that it was 120cm in length. When it arrived it was only about 1m long, and only 2kg, I have arranged for friends driving out to Italy to bring it to me after Easter... but I wowuld have really liked it now, and if I had known it was only 2kg in weight, I could have asked other friends coming out in February to bring it with them. So I am really not terribly satisfied with this. Hazel Murray

Happy with the items sent but the postage is very expensive, we send frames all over the world and keep postage to the minimum not to make money out of it. Our order was sent in a vacuum jug box recycled from the dustbin, very badly packed for dispatch with an obscene postage cost of £12 inc Vat.- Roundstone Framing

Our Mountboard order arrived promptly. The polystyrene strips within the box to stop the corners getting bashed are a very good idea, unfortunately whoever packed ours put both strips at the same end so the corners at the other end still suffered during transit. Hopefully this is a one-off

I get items from Lion and expect always the same discount irrelevant on the amount spent. Few months ago when I had an order I had to insist that I get the discount as the previous order which was that of 33%. On my last order which I have just placed, I had to insist to get a 20% discount. I am in this field of trade and would not be competitive unless I get a decent discount. Did not receive the exact items I ordered. I received only half the amount of D rings, & smaller rolls of gummed tape, but fortunately I wasn't charged for the original order
