About Letterbox Gifts:

Letterbox Gifts produce beautiful letterbox friendly gift sets containing British-made products, each being hand-wrapped in our workshop in Sheffield. They are designed to be delivered straight through standard letterboxes to avoid any annoying trips to the post office! There is a Letterbox Gift for every occasion, with each gift set coming with a complimentary greetings card which can be personalised with your own message. Letterbox Gifts also offer subscriptions, where a different Letterbox Gift comes through the door each month.

I have used letterbox gifts before and received them and really like them. My experience this purchase was less positive. Bought letterbox gift for my friends birthday. The issue was that royal mail would not post it through the letterbox when the recipient was out. Instead I got a royal mail email to say it was delivered to a neighbour. Royal mail did not put anything through the recipients door to inform them of this. I noticed the email a day later and asked the recipient if they knew about the letterbox gift being with a neighbour, which they didn't, so the birthday gift was quite late. This was quite embarrassing and how can they be called letterbox gifts if they can't be posted through the door without a signature, quite misleading.

Didn't arrive on the day that I paid extra postage for on the birthday. But it was a nice item which arrived very late

Hello, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that your Letterbox Gift arrived later than you'd expected. As the order was placed on a Friday evening when our studio was closed (we're open and dispatch gifts Monday to Friday) I can see that your gift was carefully packaged and sent on the first working day possible, Monday. The gift was delivered using the Royal Mail 24 hour tracked service selected and paid for when ordering and I see that it was delivered on the Tuesday. Once again, I'm sorry for any disappointment this may have caused you. The gift selection and quality is good but the delivery options are very misleading. My sweetheart received her Valentines gift one day late because “Tracked 48” delivery means it will arrive in 2-3 days. I placed my order on Feb. 12.

Must admit a little puzzled as we ordered a "letterbox" gift but received notification from Royal Mail that rather than put it through the said letterbox of the intended recipient, they have left it with the neighbour! Somewhat defeats the object of ordering a "letterbox" gift. As the recipient is still away we are waiting to hear from them to clarify they have safely received the gift from the neighbour rather than directly from their letterbox.

While the selection process and buying process was made very easy due to a very clear web site. I paid for next day delivery and that didn't happen. Very disappointing. I am Letterbox Gifts would say they cannot be held responsible for third party companies, I believe if a company is offering and accepting payment for next day delivery it becomes their responsibility to find a delivery company that can fulfill its promise

It is well packaged. Delivery was late but this was likely down to Royal Mail during the storm. I was a little underwhelmed with the dried flowers if I’m honest, they weren’t as nice as the picture and were a bit tatty.

The receiver was very pleased with the gift but I thought the whole idea of letterbox gift is that they fitted through the letterbox Luckily someone was in to take the present in!

Whilst the recipient was delighted with the gift itself, it arrived a day earlier than I requested and because this was for a birthday it mattered quite a lot!

The actual gift, a personalised bottle of wine seemed as described from the photo I was sent by the recipient. But, given it was a specially shaped flatter bottle of wine intended to go through the letter box, I was disappointed to find that it was simply left next to a recycling box outside the recipients house. What is the point of a 'letter box gift if it can't be posted through the letter box!

The website was quite easy to use and there was a fair amount of things to choose from. I particularly liked the option to send a video message along with the gift. The negative point was that I was promised a tracking update once my item was shipped, but I didn't receive any further communications. I ordered an item on Wednesday, due to ship on Thursday and be delivered on Friday. I hadn't heard anything by Saturday so I emailed them but didn't receive a reply until Monday. I have not received a notification to say the recipient has opened my video message but I don't know whether this is because the message is unopened or because I just haven't been sent the notification.

I have only left a 3* review because of the following - I chose this site as I knew the recipient wouldn't be in, so as the name suggests, Letterbox gifts, it would fit through the letterbox. It wasn't through the letterbox and instead there was a card left so the recipient didn't get the gift until 3 days after the event. Had I known this was going to happen I may have chosen a different site

The gift was well received, but it wasn’t put through the letterbox ( the whole point of me choosing this company!) When I informed customer service they said it was the judgement of the postman. Luckily the recipient was in.

Nice gift but was delivered a day late. Not great as was for a 40th birthday. Don't know if this was the fault of Royal Mail or letterbox but will not risk using again.
