About KNOOPS:

Jens Knoop has had a strong relationship with chocolate since his childhood in rural Germany. In 2013, he decided to share his passion and opened the first Knoops store in Rye, East Sussex. Today, our expertly crafted chocolate drinks and coffee can either be prepared by one of our Knoopologists in store, or created by our customers themselves at home.

We are experts in the craft of creating the perfect drinking chocolate - a process we call 'Knoopology'. The Knoops concept is based around our carefully curated percentage menu, which offers a wide range of chocolates to suit all tastes. Our real chocolate flakes can be used with one of our hand-picked hot chocolate makers to create the unique Knoops experience at home.

“Sadly I can't shop here as they don't take cash. The store is very sparse and not inviting but I would have like to have tried the products. Sadly, after having a conversation with the server I refused to pay by card. I won't shop anywhere that doesn't take cash. Every store should take cash or they are discriminating against certain profiles of customers. Please re-think your policy.”

We are sorry about your disappointing visit to Knoops. We moved to card only payments in 2020, initially this was for hygiene reasons during the pandemic and have also found that our staff feel safer not having any cash on site, so have remained card only since. However, this is something, we are currently reviewing.

“Just been to the newly opened Knoop in Bath. I was sooooo disappointed with the ambience of the place. It was like a poor grade bus station cafe!! Then to my horror I was given my hot chocolate in a paper cup!! Do I really want to have a luxurious hot chocolate in a paper cup sat on a bathroom stool? Then after deliberation I chose the chocolate I decided on and that, plus my next two choices where not available!! If all you want is a take away hot chocolate then I suppose this will do, but I want to meet my friends, enjoy the chocolate and be able to sit comfortably. I will not be returning until I see an improvement.”

“Knoops in Bath just opened, was excited after having Knoops in London. The milkshakes were not the same at all. Just milk and chocolate. No thickness to it like I’ve had in London stores. No difference between iced or milkshake really. Very disappointed when compared to London stores”

“Do not trust them with your data!! They have zero regard for it or their customers. I have emailed them several times asking them to remove my details from marketing lists. No response(s) and am still getting spammed constantly. The unsubscribe option clearly does not work. Now having to report them to the ICO. I ordered several items (vegan) online and all are way too sweet - even the higher cocoa content products. Definitely not worth the price tag. Far better quality and value elsewhere.”

“I went to Knoops after a friend recommended me the place.we were in Knightsbridge so I said let's pop in. I noticed when my friend was being served the Asian lady did not even say hello. Instead my friend said hi...can I get a...( My friends been here before) I was next and was so confused what to get with so many boards. The lady looked at me so I looked back and waited for her to say hi. There was no warm welcome or advise how to select the hot chocolate. I asked for a 65%, Colombia. I also asked for a marshmallow which had to ask for. Cream or any toppings were not offered or advised. I got my hot chocolate. It was not hot. I asked for it to be reheated. The lady making the chocolate reheated it. Over all you had three staff and they could not care less about there customers. Not a great experience and unprofessional,with 3 young staff who could not careless,serving on a Sat night around 9pm on 8th April. Would I spend £7.15 and revisit... ABSOLUTELY NOT!”

“I purchased the drinking chocolate box from Knoops as a birthday present for a work colleague, having been told by someone that my colleague couldn't get enough of Knoops. She was thrilled when she received her present and told me she had visited the Knoops store in London quite a few times. I just need to try Knoops for myself!”

“We got our first taste via a gift from a friend and since then we have been hooked. We have placed 2 orders in the last 2 months and been to the store twice as well. I love the white chocolate with my morning coffee, the kids and I love the milk chocolate, and my husband has been in his own quest to try all the dark chocolate versions. Even if you have tried making these at home, it would still be good to try it in store as well. We haven’t figured out yet what they do in store that makes it richer and just more chocolatey. :)”

“Arrived quickly, best hot chocolate we’ve ever had at home, absolutely delicious. We order frequently and have never been disappointed. We have bought sachets, milk chocolate (43% and 37%) and cacao tea which I love. Great product!”

“I bought there milk chocolate and dark chocolate flakes. Was excited as last time i bought real flakes the drink was amazing. However upon making the drink with there flakes it was bland, weak and didnt really taste of milk chocolate. Not even nrought myself to try the dark one i was so dissapointed. I made a hot chocolate a gee hours layer out of my own chocolate and it was amazing. 250grams of cheap chocolate flakea is mot what i was expecting for over 10 pounds. Might aswell just buy ypur own chocolate and mix it into hot milk. Very let down, last time i bought real flakes there was other thinga than chocolate in the mix and it was very nice. Avoid and buy your own chocolate. Thats all it is.”

“Love the oat drinking chocolate. Having to go dairy free was not good news so I was really happy to find that Knoops do an oat milk chocolate. Tastes great so I don’t feel like I am missing out”

“Absolute lovely the hot chocolate shaker! Such an easy way to make your hot chocolate! So far I’ve tried the milk chocolate, (which was deadly as it was so good it started to appear in yogurts and ice cream 😂) the single origin Colombian 65% flakes and the 54% dark chocolate flakes. I think the 54% is my favourite so far. Orders are always packaged well and arrive really quickly. I’m really impressed with this company.”
