Quick service and battery working well

A quick response to a phone call regarding the release mechanism on a compact folding bike resulted in a new locking mechanism being sent out next day which fully cured the problem. Thanks

I have had my dutch style electric bike for 18 months and love it. Recently my battery lock barrel was damaged making the battery unchargeable. I contacted Juicy Bikes for advice and they recommended a case replacement and realignment of the lock which they carried out at small cost in a very efficient manner. I cannot thank their aftersales team enough.

The service received from Juicy Bikes has been excellent. However either we have had bad luck or there is a problem with the torque detection unit on the Juicy Roller. The first bike had to be rejected and the replacement seems to have developed the same fault after one year. This should not be a problem with other marks, but I would caution customers about the possible unreliability of the Roller when fitted with this older unit.

My Juicy Roller bike has been exactly what I hoped for - lively all-terrain with a comfortable frame for mounting and riding. Motor is powerful and responsive. An early power failure was caused by a rain deluge soaking the control unit on the handlebars. Juicy posted me a replacement very promptly, so all praise for that, though it does really need to be waterproof. Only reservation -instructions on the site were rater scant for the specific equipment on the bike. Otherwise, all good!

So we decided just prior to the lockdown, to order our first electric bike and one with great range and easy to ride and went for the 'Compact click' with the 6 gears. Sadly they had just run out of stock, but they had one 'compact plus' for a little more money that they could send out. We took it just as we headed for the lockdown and when it arrived all looked well. On opening the box, the content and assembly is different from both the booklet and the video so contacted the very helpful team and resolved that particular issue (make sure you have your own Allen keys etc, as none are included). There were a few other minor points (scuffed mudguard, handlebar splines looked slightly scratched/damaged/pre used or assembled) which they are looking into for me. The main point though that buyers need to be aware of, is that the compact plus comes with '8 gears'...but only 'one' front chain ring sprocket and the chain, when in 1st gear, drags on the chain guard scratching it and makes a noise as you pedal (it also is at quite a stretch/angle to the main chain ring sprocket when stretched over the cassette to the first gear) and it can't be adjusted out. Again I spoke to the team and they are looking at a way forward (possibly different rear cassette) to resolve the issue. I look forward to a reply as soon as they are able given the current lockdown restrictions.

We saw the Open Ticket at the 2019 cycle show and impressed with size and looks. It was long wait for delivery in March 2020 but well worth it. Easy to ride and looks like a proper bike. Our friends are envious!

The customer service was excellent, price good, delivery good, I did have a bent front wheel and that meant it had to be replaced, but that was done without a fuss. I love the bike and would recommend Juicy bikes.

Visited the main store in Ashbourne to trial the E-Roller and received excellent help from instore staff. Once ordered, I was able to take delivery closer to home and again the service was brilliant. Bike was set up perfectly by technician. Been out for long rides a few times now and I thoroughly enjoy riding it. Looks great and gears are smooth and very quiet.

Juicy Ticket in TOR. An excellent, good looking, ebike that is great value for money (with a few niggles). After test riding at the NEC a few weeks ago, I took the plunge and ordered a Juicy Ticket ebike. Nicely designed ebike, which with a few minor changes could be an excellent buy. Looks great. Good price. In my opinion better equipped than its nearest competitior at this price point - the orbea gain. Arrived quickly by courier and well packaged. Pros: Great design, nice clean lines. Relatively light (for an ebike) about the same weight as a steel frame bike. Excellent assist levels. Nice torquey motor Good range - if you can afford it I strongly recommend you upgrade to the 10ah battery. Excellent Tektro hydraulic brakes 8 speed Acera derailleur and shifter Front light runs from the battery No ugly battery in view Ability to alter the assist settings to match your riding style Rides very well with motor assist turned off - trust me this is important!!! UK company (frame made in Portugal). It is nice to support a local product. Currently supplied with mudguards and light(s) Great boost - Especially on my PITA hill: just over a kilometer with a 70 metre change in level and a final one in five section near the top Cons. Almost every bolt needed tightening when received - including rear axle :-( Rear brakes well out of adjustment and rubbing No instant assist cutout when brakes applied Handgrips - just no excuse Tyres - very harsh ride on the tyres supplied (would recommend changing to Schwalbe Marathon Pro at least 35mm - I have changed to 38s and the ride is vastly improved. I also get top of class puncture resitance). Controller as supplied cuts assist at 16mph (good), but assist does not return until below 12mph (bad). No carrier mount points on rear stays ("34.9mm seat clamp with carrier mount" solved this) Paint is fragile. Looks to be powder coated and no laquer top coat; the seat tube was scratched within days, so if you wish to protect the finish be very careful and/or invest in some frame protection/wrap. Rear light. Why not power from the battery as for front light? The supplied part is still unused - I use my trusty moon comet(s). No rear reflector. Comments: Range and assist is good for my commute which is a 14 mile round trip with elevation change of approx 400ft up and down (each way). I have yet to test the maximum range of this bike on full assist mode. I have contacted the shop for some frame grommets which appear to be missing - particularly on the downtube (which houses the battery). Lowest assist setting was 50% with four further levels maxing out at 96%. I was much happier after changing this to 20% 40% 60% 80% and 96% Like a previous reviewer I have experienced the assist cutting out. I am unsure of the cause. This was prior to freeing the rear brake disk clearance, and was also when riding in heavy rain ( two or three times on separate rides). I am assuming the controller/bms was protecting the battery - either from damp/shortcircuit or voltage sag under heavy load which would have been exacerbated by the brake drag. I hope that properly weather protecting the frame will be the answer (see above point about missing grommets). The charging port could also be better protected from the elements. Internal battery will need to be replaced eventually. If, as intended, I use this on a daily basis, the battery will need replacing in about three years. This is an internal battery, and will not be as straight forward as replacing the (external) batteries on other bikes. If you buy from either of their two stores I am sure they will set the bike up for you properly, otherwise have it checked over and set up at your local bike store (and get those tyres changed at the same time). I believe all the negatives can be easily rectified, so please do not let that put you off buying an excellent, great value for money, ebike from a UK company.

Wow! That's a very detailed review of Ticket and very much appreciated. Normally our bikes are sent to bike shops for their final preparation and they will have all the torque settings for correctly checking nuts and bolts. Some settings are unusual - for instance the BB, which needs "only" 30NM, compared to a more usual tighter setting. It's important not to over tighten this part in particular because of some complex internal electronics, and other parts too designed for aluminium rather than steel framed bikes. Where we can we use lighter materials which can sometimes be easily over-torqued. But you sound like a member of our "bike expert reviewers" (who we love for their detailed feedback) and should have no problem getting things exactly as you'd like. We constantly monitor feedback and suggestions and are already considering offering options for tyres and grips. These thankfully are all standard components for our bikes and a vast range of alternatives are widely available, some quite affordable too. Thanks again for your invaluable feedback! All the best, Juicy Bikes
Bought a Juicy Ticket through the Cycle to Work scheme. The Juicy sales agent was confused by the scheme, but promised to call back later that day. He didn’t and a chaser was needed. Bike was delivered on the chosen day. Packaging was excellent and bike was in perfect condition. Assembly was easy and done in a few minutes. The bike is absolutely fantastic. Such fun and so easy to use. The handlegrips are very poor. Had to get these changed. The ride is very, very firm. Changed the saddle which has helped. Headlight doesn’t match the one in the manual, it is supposedly a dyno model, but it doesn’t come on when the bike is ridden. The rear light is a cheap $5 solar model, which is fitted under the saddle?! Sometimes the power assist goes to sleep during use for no apparent reason. The bike itself appears to be of very good build quality as is the finish. The cabling from handlebars to frame looks clumsy, which is a pity. Brakes are superb. All in all, a great ride for a £1,700 bike. Let down by one or two silly issues which could be solved easily. It gets a recommend.

Took a while to get used to on corners. But very good on hills and ideal for my needs. Quite heavy to lift. But I like it
Helpful Report
It is nice to be ale to ride from my home, the hills are no longer daunting! However I find thats it is too heavy for me to lift in and out of my car (even with battery removed) Luckily a friend has also purchased a Juicy bike so so together we might be able to manage. I would have liked a more detailed booklet on how to operate and use the bike. I did not require all the pages about how to assemble one as I purchased it assembled. (Hard copy, not one on the internet) I needed to contact the shop in New Mills but found that I could not phone there directly, it would have been helpful to speak to the man that sold the bike to me. Friends have shown interest in the bike and are wanting to try it out.......so there may be more customers!

We are pleased with our new folding juicy bikes, although we haven't had much chance to use them yet and are still learning how to ride them. We find them heavy to lift into a car even without the battery - but then we no longer have the youthful strength we once had! We would have preferred to be able to contact the shop we bought them from directly, rather than go through an 0845 number to another shop. We also think that we should be provided with a credit/debit card receipt for our payment transaction, at the point of purchase, rather than have to wait for a general receipt to be sent later via email. When paying for the bikes we had no way to check amount what was being taken from our account or proof of purchase when leaving the shop. We have never experienced this before for any card transaction and would suggest that Juicy Bikes provides card receipts as well as general receipts.

The service I have received from Juicy Bikes has always been friendly, efficient and, when it has come to sales, knowledgeable, patient and non-pushy. I had a minor problem with the LCD control on delivery but this was rapidly sorted at the first service by adjustment of a sensor. An offer to lift the bike into the car for my return journey was made without prompting and the performance of the bike itself has surpassed my expectations. Roll on the better weather.

Lovely 24 inch poco bike with a much needed throttle. but no suspension saddle or forks. Nice river colour. Front Light wasn't working at shop so it took quite a while to get that sorted. I eventually put my own sprung saddle on for a softer ride. I have now found my third power mode is not working. So when it goes in for a 6 month service I hope I can get that sorted.

Thanks for this update Corrine and we're pleased you like the bike. Please do not wait for 6 months - just call us or pop in and we'll be glad to get everything working properly.
Very important to be able to try out the bike before purchase, were able to try two different models. Bike working well

Friendly and efficient. Very happy with the bikes. Just one gripe is that we were travelling some distance to try out the bikes but it wasn't made clear when we rang and arranged to call in, that the bikes had to be assembled and weren't available to be taken away. So we had to make another journey to collect them.

I cant give 5/5 review, as there was a bit of a mix up with deliveries, to be fair not all Juicy Bikes fault, Then, when it did arrive, no battery! So not the best start. However, that said, its an excellent product! Its Fun!!! And I am sure , although a tricky start, a long and "Juicy" future ahead.....
