“Me and my partner are first time buyer so sorting out a mortgage is a big scary thing to do. We had Edward Coombs as our mortgage advisor and I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone. He helped explain everything to us, he went through everything clear so we understood and he was easily contactable when we needed him. He is a very lovely and friendly guy to talk to. We honestly can’t thank him enough.”

“Customer service from Shak Bhairon (one of the mortgage advisors) was excellent. She spent many weeks chasing up different lenders for an expat buy to let mortgage and worked hard to get me an offer due to my particular circumstances. I would recommend JC and Shak in particular especially for complicated mortgages (expat, self-employed etc.). Excellent service!”

“We have worked with John Charcol on our initial applications for the mortgage and life cover in 2023/2024, and again in 2025/2026 for our remortgage and cover review. Both times have been an absolute pleasure and really helped to put our worries at bay. Holly Grant has been very personable, helping with our protection options, helping us to get the best cover for our situation and family. This has been a really excellent service, thorough and providing the best cover. Protection can be a tricky thing to discuss, but Holly made it a comfortable and informative experience. Alex Bowden has also been wonderful on the mortgage front, getting in touch well ahead of our rate expiring, and keeping us informed of the possible better rates that we're eligible for. He has been understanding of our plans and helped us to seek the best solution. Alex is supported by a great team including Emma Moores, who have helped to manage the solicitors as we go to remortgage. We are very grateful for the whole team at John Charcol who we've worked with, and look forward to engaging again in the future!”

“Paul was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he was always on hand to explain things clearly. “John Charcol really did pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat for me. While my case was one for the "too difficult" pile with other brokers, Karolina and her team saw no such limitations and set about finding the right mortgage product for me. To unpack this a little, my circumstances were somewhat irregular in that I had recently returned to the UK after living overseas for more than a decade. Karolina took the time to get to know me, understand the nuance of my circumstances and ultimately find a (well known and trusted) lender that was able to meet all my expectations. I consider the fee paid to be worth every penny as without Karolina's expert knowledge and extensive contact book, I would not have been able to purchase a property back in the UK. Karolina was also very good at nudging me long to ensure that I did my bit to ensure that she could do hers - with regular communication and updates that went a long way to build up the trust and confidence that I now hold JC in. Thank you Karoline and your team.”
